The game needs more variety in building upgrades so you can build/upgrade the city visually. (Bigger, better houses, cathedrals, maybe upgraded stone roads, gardens etc) It is fun to see your town look better, bigger and more sofisticated. Stone walls, towers etc would be great too
I'm sure that such things will come along the way, but right now they are still in early access. They will probably focus on other things they deem more important at the moment rather than the overall looks. The priority right now is probably to add more features and enhance gameplay, and once this runs smoothly, they will add more visual features. This is at least what I personally suspect is happening.
Recently got my city in Manor Lords to 500 people with about 160 families, then I had a realization that I have accidentally created wealth classes in my city. The new houses I build are lvl 1, they are all either unassigned (meaning they are builders) or assigned to a new granary I built. They started setting up food stalls in the marketplace near the lvl3 burgage plots, instead of the marketplace near their houses. So now the main part of my city, has easy access to food, and never gets upset about anything, they get to be Farmers, Bakers, Artisans and Smiths. Where as the new district I have built, struggles to keep up with food, because they have to travel across the city for it, and they work only to produce food for the upper class, build the buildings, and bury the bodies. I have created a true society!
You can manually move market stalls to a new location at will. Just remove all the workers from the granary you want and look for the “abandoned” stalls
Easy mistake to fix for markets, make them about 20 stalls each time and spread them around your city. My biggest has gotten over 700 and I'm going to go for 1000 next. I have about 500 hours in so far and agree they need more upgrades for buildings but it's coming you can see all the spaces on the tech tree that are coming
I might've lost that crazy hype I had before because of few disappointments here and there, but I can't deny this game had a lot of potential, it still does have, the thing is that it has to get a lot of new content, reminds me of Workers and Resources Soviet Republic, it was like that, years later, now we are here to appreciate the improvement done, and it's successful, so for Manor Lords I hope it gets there too, so other companies will be inspired tthis game abd try to replicate it, who knows in thd future the features it has will neet another big title, this is what we need. ML has some great stuff, but I think it could be way more successful if it had a COOP mode so we can play with friends... Not multiplayer full of people, I think COOP could be enough.
3:15 Leather amrounr was generally not a thing in Medieval Europe. New armours those crossbowmen and other units could get are coats of plates, brigandines, and mail shirts. Oh, and new shields like pavises.
We don't know either way, we can only assume cloth armor was more common because we see more evidence for it. And some armors we see depicted may be either.
@@Nala15-Artist That's the point. We have examples of shoes, belts, and pouches that survived to our day, all made of leather. Some of them date as back as Early Middle Ages. It's rare but it happens. The only leather armour for with we have evidence is short-lived cuir bouilli.
@Nala15-Artist textile armour is both cheaper and more effective than leather armour so it kind of makes sense that leather armour was not really a thing. Though there does seem to be leather armour used in tournaments where it performed well against blunt weapons being more rigid than textile armour though once plate became a thing it was obsolete.

The game looks lonely at night hope they add a plaza and night lamps in the streets. Its so dark at night and hope as a manor you can hold a festival and everyone will hold beer. 😊
Fish from shore some fish, then boat upgrade, deeper waters, more fish, gather more in the boat etc. I don't think the boats will need parts, it will be just like adding a herb garden to a berry yard.
I really hope this game has realistic sieges, like taking weeks or even months to conquer a castle, diseases, hunger, multiple assaults, and overall attrition to starved out the besieged castle
Will have another look at this when the new patch is released. Have 39 months of food, but my villagers are starving. A granary full of flour next to the communal oven, but no one bakes bread. 1500 warbows set to export through the trading post, but no one is buying them
@@Taffnp 1. I've learned that you, as Manor Lord, are responsible for the maintenance of the market and market stalls; when stalls are empty, you can delete them, and they'll rebuild new ones and then stock them. It's tedious and annoying. You can also set some buildings to not create market stalls (I've found there's a surplus of clothing stalls in my main village right now, that cannot be stocked, so destroying them to build new empty ones is the definition of insanity). 2. Don't let the granary store flour; I think the fields can be harvested, and then grain product can be moved to the windmill, and then flour to the bakery. Same tactic with mining; don't let raw product be put in storage - the processing of these resources will happen more seamlessly if there's only the production/processing facilities for storage of raw ore/clay. Trade is frustrating. I get that. More tradehouses, horses, and tradespersons can help a bit. ML's still needing updates... my villagers get upset there's not enough entertainment; maybe I need more taverns? And then there's the endless market managing. As well, things (for me) go from being a self-sustaining town to suddenly not having not enough food, a decrease in approval, immigration stops. The game still drives me nuts a bit. But hopefully these 2 suggestions help you some!
I hope thfy add the mechanic that you need to make your own ammo. With different arrow types for armor piercing ect. And then you need to think how you use your range units. And same for AI... Maybe even the option for fire arrows.. 😊
I enjoyed ML's but didn't expect much upon release. I enjoy just watching things happen. I don't really care about progression, I just want this game to be a joy to build and create a new village/city.
I've ways been fascinated by medieval history, since I was a young child. I found the game Lords of the Realm 2 when I was 12, and was hooked. But I always had wished the game looked like the intro video, in 3D models. Alas, the tech was not up to it at the time. Next was Medieval 2 Total War. It was essentially Lords 2, but like I always wanted it, 3D massive medieval battles. I've put probably over 2k hours into Lords 2 over the years. And probably over 4k hours into Medieval 2. And, I don't put hours like that into games. Putting 2k hours into a game for me takes years. Finally, this game just may very well pick up the torch for me as far as this medieval city building/warfare genre is concerned. Everything is early access these days and it's super frustrating. Feels like rarely games ever get finished anymore. Hoping this one does, and they make good choices. Waiting for updates in the meantime
If they want to include disease, why not just a small one like food poisoning. We have goats, sheep so far for animals. Goats provide hides and sheep wool. So i feel like we should get pigs in order to get another acces to meat (Especially also since i like your suggestion about migrating animals). Adding to your suggestion of salting the meat/fish, that should be a late game development tree option if you go down the food route, unlocking salt mining.
You mention Ostriv. That developer is still adding new content and bug patches. About time, Raptor, to revisit that game for a new video. As a city-builder (no combat) Ostriv is superior to Manor Lords.
I'm very excited for manor Lords and it sounds it's going in the right direction. However I'm going to wait for 1.0 before I start playing. Been burned too often by Early Access (Change of direction or mechanics).
IMHO one thing that definitely needs to be added is additional domestic animals... for food. Right now the only meat you can eat is wild deer. Goats add hid, chickens add eggs, but neither adds meat. In the middle ages, pigs and cows were everywhere. I would like to see pig farms for pork and hide and cattle. Beef cattle could provide food and hides, dairy cattle could add milk and cheese. Other wild game could be wild boar... it would be interesting and funny that hunters might have a random chance of getting injured or even killed when hunting wild boar... lol. Anyway... there really does need to be another way to eat meat other than hunting "the Kings deer". Glad they are adding fishing. That is at least another form of food.
Very nice game, but indeed the early access. Unbalanced is hunting, very ineffective at later stage. Butcher is completely missing. The vegetables and apple orchards producing very little (tried 50 grown trees). Fishing pond will hopefully help. In non-combat scenario the only way to claim new land is the influence from church. Not with army (surprisingly), and no benefit from the king even when paying the king tax, just turn it off for now. With army you could literally go there and set the camp, but that is not working. The market is little bit chaos at city stage, many times with empty or abandoned places, leaving heating needs not served, while having the supplies for next 1 year. Yield from trees is low (does not scale with city requirement) and the forester area too small. And so on. The game does the basics really great, I hit very few bugs. The missing content, the balancing and scaling needs further development. Either it needs mods to fix all these little things, or more time.
if this game would be paired with something like the guild mechanics OMG. think about not being a lord just a peasant try to make a living in a town from like a day laborer help building stuff or transport or woodcutting to one day open up a tavern or a wandering trader or a smith ... dream game
