I've just replaced the cabin filter on a 2014 F30 328d and the old one (installed by the dealer under the maintenance plan) had the arrow up and pointing to the engine. At 2:16 one can see the arrow is pointing to the engine.
I was on the beginning of an 8 hour road trip last night with two kids under two and this video saved my sanity and got us through the trip. Boo to BMW prepaid maintenance and thank you to this awesome video. Quick emergency stop at a rural parts store got me and my family home not in a sweat box.
Looks like BP went out of business a while ago.. their CD doesn't install or accept any serial numbers.. their website is broke, no answer from phone number or even emails.. extremely frustrating!
I’m having tons of allergy issues. I replaced my cabin air filter but it didn’t help. I’ve heard that mold can build up on the evaporator coils, but how can I clean that area. Also, if that were the case, would it be covered under warranty?
Excellent video! If you're kinda dumb like I am, the air flow arrow should be pointing towards the rest of the cabin. "Towards the front of the car" to me sounds like the arrow should be facing the engine bay instead of the cabin. Also, this job is really simplified using a socket driver instead of a standard socket wrench like i was using, as the fit under footwell is pretty tight.
Are you sure about that? The video is a bit unclear, but freeze-framing on the removed (old) filter seems to indicate the arrow is pointing towards the engine bay, what I would also consider the "front" of the car.
I'd like to have words with the rat bastard at BMW who put a recessed 10mm nut right next to a 12V power outlet. I inserted my nutdriver in the wrong recess and POW! sparks. Now I have to replace my #69 fuse in the engine compartment, 20 amps.
Also applies to 2014 328i x drive. Thank you for posting.

Excellent user-friendly presentation. Thanks.
Thank you very much for that demonstration!
In Australia (with right Hand Drive) There are 3 torx screws on the filter cover panel .
Thank you for your kind video! Is it the same with 2018 3 series?

Job well done, Thanks!
From what I've seen, it looks like the procedure is the same for an F33. Can anyone confirm? Thanks!

and my dealer wanted $269.37 for this replacement. HAHA
thats fcked up
I hate them, by doing a lot of stuff myself I not just saved money on labour but bought tools and learned a lot.
Instructions unclear - the narrator says arrow to the front of the car, while on the video the arrow is clearly pointing to car saloon
Thanks
Very good video
This video was great for 14 335
Can you guys upload how to replace oil change and flush the coolant on Bmw f30 335i? Also how to replace the spark plug
Is your website down?
it looks easy to do at home. why does BMW dealer charge $170 for this???
@WellEndowedWhiteMan, $120 for me. Pretty sure without labor though.
Is it really this easy? Scared to attempt but bmw want 200$ for it.
Cannot ever understand the dealer pricing...
Thank you!

Joe, thanks for the tip. I will make sure to pay attention to the orientation of my filter when removing.

Mine came out with arrows toward the bay
The arrow should point to the front of the car as shown in the video.

the new filer looks just as dirty
It has charcoal in the fibers to remove odors that's why it looks dark.
Come remove mine. I live in California. Thanks.
