this has always been one of the most emotional pieces of electronic music i have ever herd. it reminds me of when my brother and i shared a house back in the 90s. i taped it off a pirate chill out station. so many friends came and went through our doors. some still here some sadly missed. we had an amazing time there. music jams, lots of sunny summers. we sadly lost the house due to my dad being diagnosed with terminal cancer. we struggled to keep the house but had to sell for the best treatment we could buy for him. this music will always take me back to the good old days when we never had a care in the world. julian, martin, rory, william, danny and all my favourite mates were there and pop was the big man he always was. such memories a piece of music can make you stop and think back on. it gets me every time when ever i hear it and always takes me right back there. i would give anything for just one more day there because i miss it all so much. but pop.... i miss you most of all X
Thank you for sharing Freddie your beautiful and moving story.. your pop was very lucky to have such a loving family 💖 I too love music that brings me back to a different time in my life ☺️
This track alone from THE MIGHTY COLDCUT is without a doubt so beautifully haunting and so poignant, time itself stands still everytime I listen to this classic gem. An emotional moment to embrace to the full. April 2021🙏❤🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧❤🙏 💎💎💎
Autumn leaves fall and are swept out of sight The words that you said have come true Autumn leaves fall and are swept out of sight So is the memory of love that we knew The wind of forgetfulness blows them Into the night of regret The song we so often did sing Is echoing echoing yet The falling leaves Drift by the window The autumn leaves of red and gold I see your lips The summer kisses The sunburned hands I used to hold Since you went away The days grow long And soon I'll hear cold winter song But I miss you most of all, my darling When autumn leaves start to fall
Rare that a cover betters the original. This is a truly memorable rendition. One of my favourite musical pieces of all time. (Just take off the first minute)

Was looking into some popular electronic music, trying to look at new approaches for my Jazz piano playing and bumped into Coldcut unaware they do a version of one of my favorite songs. Definitely going to be spending hours detecting this version of it and learning something new.
Yay! I really, really miss something this video reminds me of...probably of being a teenager in the 90's in Europe, not to mention this is the dopest version of the eternally beautiful song.
From 1945 this beautiful song with the evolution musics, instruments and sensual voce make a smooth passion song. I really like, in my México was singer by Enrique Guzmán in 1963 today 2021 is so fine to listen and feel whats happen with two lovers when death comes.
Прекрасная композиция ! Слова и музыка выдающегося французского шансонье Шарля Азнавура , Респект Coldcut ! Пусть Любовь никогда не будет опавшими листьями в осеннем парке ...
I believe she's called Janis Alexander. According to Wikipedia, originally 'Autumn Leaves' was a 1945 French song, "Les Feuilles Mortes" (literally "The Dead Leaves"), with music by Hungarian-French composer Joseph Kosma and lyrics by poet Jacques Prévert. It's been rehashed in some form or another by many, many famous artists over the decades. You can read about all the different vsns here - en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Autumn_Leaves_(1945_song). Unlike most folks in this thread, bar Mr Rivera, I happened across this track a little differently. In 2000, Way Out West - an electronic music duo comprised of Jody Wisternoff & Nick Warren - created a truly seminal dance track called 'The Fall'. It's an absolute classic, featuring a sample from the very song you hear in the video above. It took me some time to track it down, and though I appreciate it may not be up your street, it is a fabulously sublime, uplifting, millennial masterpiece for the genre. Enjoy - ua-cam.com/video/AiWNp4DEZOc/v-deo.html
i have so much love for this version of this song! it was the way I have actually discovered autumn leaves! :) the only thing I would like to mention is that it has this awkward arrangement which most of nowadays musics use. lets you hear the main theme only once, creating the urge of listening to it again and again... :) ofc which I dont mind, but it would have been great if they had released some sort of extended version. :)
+quben alex i was around my mates, we were drinking :D and playing chess, and cause he had a guitar, and i didnt touch any for ages at that time, i was just playing what was on the radio... then i was like "omg, this song is awesome, i want it" so we have checked the id tag on the internet radio... :) btw, why are you thanking? are you singing this or actually produced the music? is there any chance i can get the acapella? ;)
@@qubenlink thank you for the answer, i will look it up, is the acapella royalty free to use? would you be interested in doing a song with me? not this one ofc, but something original we could come up with

quben alex No way! This isn't Janis, is it? I love your voice. But I cant see anything else you've done since the 'Philosophy' album with Coldcut. All the tracks are wonderful on the album, by the way, love your smooth soulful voice. What have you been up to? xx

Very very classy!!
Autumn leaves fall and are swept out of sight
The words that you said have come true
Autumn leaves fall and are swept out of sight
So is the memory of love that we knew
The wind of forgetfulness blows them
Into the night of regret
The song we so often did sing
Is echoing echoing yet
The falling leaves
Drift by the window
The autumn leaves of red and gold
I see your lips
The summer kisses
The sunburned hands I used to hold
Since you went away
The days grow long
And soon I'll hear cold winter song
But I miss you most of all, my darling
When autumn leaves start to fall
