I sold my Street Glide in 2019 and took last year off whilst looking. Nothing lit my fancy and I checked out my fair share of the naked and street bikes. Triumph has done the unthinkable and just launched a salvo over the bow of Japanese manufacturers. This is the bike for me.
I bought street triple RS last year but look at this beautyful trident. For sure still very happy with my streety but it is not often that you look down to entry bike by thinking WOW. Great job Triumph. Congratulations.

@Jerome Tomas Thanks so much for your reply. I got to the site thru google and I'm trying it out now. I see it takes a while so I will reply here later with my results.
If you're young and a newbie, I'm thinking this will be a lot easier to insure than the Street Triple 660 S. Street Triple 660 S is a very good bike, but a challenge to insure as compared to the MT-07. Honda CB650R is a challenge to insure as a newbie. It does seem to be the peak BHP both the Street Triple 660 and Honda CB650R can knock out that is the issue with insurance.
@@karlosh9286 thank you for the advice yes, I just got my a2 license here in UK jumping from a 125 never though about the insurance cost but thanks for the heads up. 😀
@@Tomschannel97 I passed my A test early last year as a middle aged old fart. I've had a clean car licence, with maximum no claims for several decades . With 0 years A licence and 0 years no claims getting insurance on a second hand Street Triple 660 S was a bit of a challenge. Quotes on the 94 BHP Honda CB650R were a challenge too. Lots of companies didn't want to quote on the Honda or the Striple. The lower powered MT-07 , SV650 were a lot easier and cheaper. I'm expecting the Trident to be similar. When I got the Street Triple 660 S it was restricted 47 BHP. The most amazing thing to me, is the insurance didn't change when I got it derestricted. They just classified it as a 94 BHP bike whether in 47 or 94 BHP form. The Street Triple 660 S is a really good bike, so I'm hoping the Trident will be similar. Peak power figures can be enticing, most of the time its low and mid range torque that is more useful. The best way is really test ride them both !
@@karlosh9286 that's awesome , at least the bike license is out fo the way tho, I still need to do my a when I'm 24 of course, the street triple looks really nice but when I see the trident it looks similar to the cb650r a bit thats what put me off it a bit but with cheaper insurance I would be happy haha. Wow they hit a home run with the engine, stock features and styling. This is one of the first naked bikes with those features that doesn’t look like a transformer.
Perfect. Price. Style and looks are amazing. Plenty of tech. This is what the bike world needs. This is Triumph at its best making a bike people want at a price people would be willing to pay. Fantastic.
I think the expectation was that it would be the 660 used in the Street Triple S? Edit: They've said it will be A2 compliant, so it will at least be along the lines of the 660 from the S.
I don't say this lightly, but one of the most beautiful motorcycles I've ever seen. My only concern is the low torque number for everyday use (would have liked to see 80Nm) since this should be a great commuter also spending a great deal of time in 2nd/3rd gear at 2,500 RPMs (you also don't want frequent stalls at take-off without sounding like a new rider revving the bike overly while taking off from a traffic light), will have to ride one to also determine leg comfort for a taller rider. Weight is also spot on.
@Brad Ketchell I have two objections to make. 1 Technology has evolved. 2 I need to test the machine to know if there are few horsespower or not. At the moment the only thing I can assure you is that the motorcycle is very beautiful and I like it. In January I will test it and be able to speak with more knowledge. Greetings.
@Brad Ketchell Greetings Brad, I understand your position and yes it is apparently true that 81 horsepower seems few, although on the other hand the bike is very light and has a contained size. I keep saying I need a test drive especially on the highway. Greetings again and a good weekend. Full gas.
@Brad Ketchell it is not about raw numbers but where those numbers are. Maybe is HP what sell bikes to someone but torque is more important in my opinion. Since you compare this two bikes they have similar torque figures but Tiger 900 reach its peak torque at 1250 rpm lower than Tracer 900. Also for many commuters, weekend riders, new riders, or just everyday users any values above 9000 rpm (even lower) are basically useless.
