This is the review I've been waiting on. I actually trust your opinions over some others, as the both of you seem far less biased in your reviews. Now all that is left is to give one a try and see if it can convince me to part with some of my money. Thanks for a great review, especially the beautiful location. Some splendid looking country you chaps have. Good day.
Thank you from India. Another reason for India being a motorcycling country is the weather, you can bike all year round in most of the parts of the country. And the country roads are beautiful for biking.
This is one the best reviews of this bike and is spot on, every bit. I own this (exact color too!) in Bengalore. Regarding the ground clearance, this bike would scrape any badly constructed speed bumps. I ride solo, and I'm on the heavier side. I stand on the pegs to avoid scraping the underbelly. Also, the minute quirk regarding the seat height, when the bike was new I had to tiptoe. But as the suspension worn in, now I'm able to flat foot. When I test rode it, I was fully able to flat foot, but was shocked that my new bike (with same preload settings I wasn't able to initially). Also the suspension initially felt stiff and had softened over time. I have so far done 700kms on it. It's just a month old. I'm 5'7. I absolutely love how it handles. This bike is my everyday commute. It doesn't really grab attention in the streets and in the parking lot. But when you are above 5k RPM ppl definitely notice a big bike on coming. Hope this helps.
Just traded in a 2019 street twin, which was a fine bike, but I wanted to experience a revvy triple. First impressions, it weight, or lack of it, its handling, the fact that it encourages you to ride hard. It makes me smile. I,ve encountered no noticeable throttle lag, the fact is... The first gear is very short and you change up in seconds, commuting and traffic splitting, simple on this bike. You can get into trouble with it, due to its 'thrash me' character. Would suit someone who has had a year or so in the saddle. Thanks for the vids lbig fellas.
I'm trying to decide between those two. What do you say now, do you regret trading the street twin? I can't test ride neither, they don't do test rides where I live. I own a MT07, and I'm afraid the less power and 5 speed of the twin will be underwhelming. Thanks
Own one for two months now, I am a relatively new rider. Did my lessons on a Honda 650R which has a heavier feel in comparison. This is very user friendly. Ride the trident to work on a daily basis. Cuts easy through traffic, has a good punch when you need it, I never have to down shift to get it. Solid bike but nice and light. Can flick it around easy into corners. Very happy purchase, I still find myself just awing at it's beauty before reluctantly throwing the cover over her 😍
Stumbled across this comment as I’m picking up my trident next week and like you I learnt on a 650r which I thought I would end up with but found myself drawn to the triumph!
Writing from India... Have this beast arrived.. gonna soon go for test ride and should check if this will be my dream bike ever... And lovely duo reviews champs!
Haven't seen one up close but from online reviews it looks very small for someone over 6', colour choice doesn't do it any favours either. Must say I really enjoy your reviews and the depth you go into, keep it up. A scoring system, based on level of difficulty for the DIY mechanic could be useful - oil change, chain adjustment, lever adjustment, service intervals, spark plug access.... any potential difficulties for the home mechanic to do it themselves
Thanks Paul! Yes we cover the size in our video! Good idea with the DiY but that’s not easy for us to ascertain tbh. Everythings electronic these days.
Excellent review, you really do get a feel for the bike with those ride past shots. I think I'll stick with my 2014 T100. One thing makes me laugh though is the posters complaining about the bike not being made in the UK, so wouldn't buy it. There are support teams - design, marketing, sales etc based in the UK depending on sales on this and other models. Take off your blinkers, and buy the bike best for you, irrespective of where it's made or where the parts come from. In the land of the blind, the one eyed man is king
I have had my eye on the Trident for ages and thinking of it as my first bike. I have watched every review I could find, but this is by far the best. Hardly anyone talks of the seating for a pillion for example which is a key consideration for me. Thank you and well done.

It always want to play ! It's nervous enought to give you great sensations ! You can also ride it just to cruise and have a lot of pleasure on the road. This bike gives you a lot of confidence! You can handle it very easily. I would really recommend this bike ! If you're a young biker with a A2 licence, just try this bike, you'll fall in love with it for sure ! And if you're a "old" biker (with years of experience of riding I mean), I'm sure you'll have a lot of pleasure with this Triumph Trident too.

Another great review . I received my hoodie and t-shirt that I ordered from you the other day. Very pleased with them. Getting a lot of questions about the logo on them. I tell them about your great channel and they should check it out. Also they will look good when I am driving my new Yamaha xsr700 that I ordered earlier today. Hopefully you will be doing a review of the xsr700 sometime in the future. The bike checked all the right boxes for me.

Excellent review. Just ordering one in Paris! It is heaps of fun. The only thing that bothered me slightly on the test ride was the lag when accelerating in first gear. The other thing that no one ever mentions in reviews is that Triumph is one of the only manufacturers that puts the horn in the right place! I've just changed bikes too many times but the horn can be really difficult to find, especially without removing your hand from the clutch which you don't want to do when riding in the city as I do every day.
I think the Honda CB650R looks nicer, has that sweet 4 cylinder and will probably work out cheaper to buy and maintain and probably more reliable. It is so nice to see Triumph becoming such a good British product even though not always assembled in the UK.
new rider here, just a few months of experience but love the trident. i find myself out on it and not wanting to end the ride. it's confidence inspiring and i'm finding that as my skill levels go up that it gets more and more rewarding to ride. the quick shifter is great at times and clunky at others but maybe that's just because i haven't quite got it figured-out yet. however i've read on forums where this is common. i'm 6' tall and it feels very comfortable. do i look too tall for it? i don't care.
Great grass roots review....A lot of other reviews I watch don't mention soul and character (Kudos Ol' Man). I say that as I have previously owned an MT07 which has bags of character, reviewer's neglect to point this out in there reviews. I live in Thailand, as you know Triumph's are made in Thailand and they are very popular in the Asian market (shorter rider's and Triumph brand). I am tempted........Cheers
Yamaha XSR 900 for a modern bike with a vintage vibe that looks a bit retro. Otherwise have a look at the Royal Enfield Market as they're great value for price and exactly what you get. I've got a Bullet as my local run around 🤘
Man, that's a beautiful bike. I shopped some Triumphs late last year and I really liked this one. I wonder, at ~2 minutes into the vid, I was not too impressed with the sound. I know the mic may not catch all that the bike has but was there a lot of transmission noise to be heard? Heh-heh, it seems that in the short time you have been making these class A videos, I feel I've watched your Mr. Darcy grow up a bit. He's a really fine presenter. Congrats. ;) S
That was a great review. Just no nonsense and telling people what they need to know. I'm 60 and 6ft 3 inch and wanting to return to biking. I can remember riding fizzys back in the 70's and they fitted ok. Fancy one of these though or maybe a cb 650.
Thanks a lot for another great video. Love your reviews gentlemen. Question: I’m looking go get my 1st motorcycle after owning 150cc for couple of months. I want to use it for daily commuting in Berlin and travel on the weekends to other cities with my partner and some luggage. I have thinking between Honda CB650R or Trident 660 or BMW F750GS. I’m 165 and im 35. What are your thoughts and would you recommend any of those motorbikes or something else... Thanks a lot.
Great review thanks, I've currently got a cb1000r love it to bits but wonder how long I will keep my license if I were ever to open it up on the road. Wandering whether I might actually get even more enjoyment out of a trident
Good review, looks a good bike, I’m wondering if I’d miss the low down torque of my Triumph and Ducati twins though?, what was your take away re torque?
6’4 and buying my 5th bike. Test ridden a trident, got it on hold now. Fully aware that I’m probably not the appropriately proportioned rider, however, I’ve come to the realisation that it really doesn’t matter to me. I’ve got my cruiser already and I hope to be getting my little, distinguished and polite crotch rocket within the week! Love the content boys
@@isaac_bear it is definitely a compact bike and you will look a little too big for it but I didn’t have any issues riding it. Definitely recommend test riding it first to see if your feet are too big for the gear pedal or if your legs are too cramped. The upright posture is a plus
@@theturkey1523 I’m cool with looking a little goofy on it. If it works for you, then there’s hope for me. Have to see if my local dealer has one I can jump on. Appreciate your response.
Owned a Trident 660 for 6 months now, love it. Im 5ft 10 85kg, I think I'm probably the max person size for the bike without looking a bit odd tho. Also the throttle lag is a bit strange, but you get used to it and then it's a non issue really; just weird at first. I would like to get an aftermarket exhaust soon though. Also: definitely worth buying a 7x5" plate to replace the monster that comes with it as standard (this is technically illegal, but the coppa would have to be in a really bad mood to actually get you in to trouble over it though).
After having really bad experience with my Harley Davidson Street 750 in india..i am looking forward for Street Triple R and Trident..can you please share your thoughts which one of this looks more presentable on Road also the specifications comparison..
awesome review guys, really comprehensive and complete . I've been tracking this bike since anounced im very interested in acquiring one but i cant decide, it´s either that or a street twin. I do a lot of in town commute and its moderate to low traffic most days, sometimes i got a pillion rider with me, and at some point in the near future i would love to do some light cruising , can you guys help me out on to decide wich fits better on those contiditions?. Big fan and once again awesome review guys.
Both excellent bikes. We’d include the T100 in the shortlist too (the new one looks nice!). I guess down to looks. Which one would you want to look back at when you get off?
@@MrDarcy-OlMan to be honest i really dig the modern classics that triumph has on store but this one feels autentic and fresh without all that futuristic stuff going on like the MT09/MT07 so i guess trident has it , and would you rate it for cruising?
Great review. I can see this going straight to the top of the sales charts for middleweight nakeds. The Aprilia 660 Tuono has been mentioned but I think you have to look at the price. This bike is a great package for the money.

Hope Triumph do well with this nice all round bike. Don’t catch you shoe lace ever on the gear selector lever Mr Darcy will you ! I nearly came off 2 years ago on my T120 due to that. I learnt my lesson. Auckland. NZ
Yes we are sure they will. Thanks buddy yes you’re absolutely right about laces. He didn’t ride it because of the Nanny State motorcycle laws here he can’t
Screaming triple for the win. I think it will give the rest of the 600-700 nakeds something to think about. Looks like they've taken a few styling cues from the CCM Spitfire?
im 6'3 and i prefer small bikes. even cruisers i prefer short wheel base like the sportster. i think its because i started to ride as a child i think it always bring a good mood into me to ride 'small' or feel big on the bike

I've just changed bikes too many times but the horn can be really difficult to find, especially without removing your hand from the clutch which you don't want to do when riding in the city as I do every day.
Good points! Thanks buddy 👍🏼👍🏼
nice review chaps, its surprising how much smaller the trident is than I thought it would be.
I'm going for the cb650r as my first big bike soon 👍
Thanks buddy! Yes it’s not big 👍🏼
I think the Honda CB650R looks nicer, has that sweet 4 cylinder and will probably work out cheaper to buy and maintain and probably more reliable.
It is so nice to see Triumph becoming such a good British product even though not always assembled in the UK.
👍🏼👍🏼
G'day from Australia 🇦🇺 just wana Thank you guys so much for yet another great review. I can't wait to save up for this bike! Cheers lads
Thanks buddy! Hopefully you won’t have to wait too long 👍🏼
new rider here, just a few months of experience but love the trident. i find myself out on it and not wanting to end the ride. it's confidence inspiring and i'm finding that as my skill levels go up that it gets more and more rewarding to ride. the quick shifter is great at times and clunky at others but maybe that's just because i haven't quite got it figured-out yet. however i've read on forums where this is common. i'm 6' tall and it feels very comfortable. do i look too tall for it? i don't care.
Thanks Dave! That’s what we try to get over 👍🏼👍🏼
Great review.. love from India ❤️
Thanks buddy! 👍🏼👍🏼
Always trust you guys to give a honest opinion 👌 💯
Thanks buddy 💯
Alright... so if this one is too small and you're looking for a retro... for a 6'3 rider... what are you recommendations?
Harley Davidsons, Indians, BMW R18. Everything else is titchy!
Yamaha XSR 900 for a modern bike with a vintage vibe that looks a bit retro. Otherwise have a look at the Royal Enfield Market as they're great value for price and exactly what you get. I've got a Bullet as my local run around 🤘
Triumph Rocket 3 R !
Loving the look of this bike. Would fit nicely into my collection
Great ! Go for it 👍🏼
Man, that's a beautiful bike.
Congrats. ;)
S
Gosh it’s hard to tell thinking back because the helmet dampens the sounds. It’s quite high pitched. Yes Darcy has evolved 💯👍🏼
Wonderful review guys. You guys should try the Yamaha XSR 700 which is often compared to the Trident.
Thanks buddy. Yes hopefully we can soon 👍🏼
It´s a shame a lot of (naked) bikes are not for taller people (6,3 here).. But thanks for the (again!) great review!
Yes it is. I can’t see it changing but you never know. Thanks buddy
Love the review from my friends across the pond. Keep up the good work gents!!
Thanks buddy 👍🏼
Love the Matt paint scheme 👌
Yes it looks great
That was a great review. Just no nonsense and telling people what they need to know. I'm 60 and 6ft 3 inch and wanting to return to biking. I can remember riding fizzys back in the 70's and they fitted ok. Fancy one of these though or maybe a cb 650.
Thanks my friend! Yes the fizzys! 💯👍🏼
I’m 6ft 3. and find the trident great There’s just something about it
👍🏼👍🏼
@@glyn829 That's good to know. Thanks for the feed back.
I can already tell I’m going to love this bike much more than the Thruxton 1200 R it’s replacing.
Awesome! 💯👍🏼
How do you like this bike vs the cb650r? And I’m sure it has more low end power. But does it have as much top end power as the cb650r?
They both feel very similar tbh. Without literally jumping off one onto the other it’s hard to say
Love your format of review.👍
Thanks buddy! 👍🏼
Thanks buddy. For what you describe the BMW out of the three. The Honda and Triumph would be horrible as a passenger
Waiting for a pillion holding on to the strap video!
Looks like Triumph are onto a winner with this one, especially for new riders.
Yes definitely 👍🏼💯
As long as you're a short-arse 🤔
Great review thanks, I've currently got a cb1000r love it to bits but wonder how long I will keep my license if I were ever to open it up on the road. Wandering whether I might actually get even more enjoyment out of a trident
Thanks buddy. Yes that’s always a possibility with so much acceleration!
Good review, looks a good bike, I’m wondering if I’d miss the low down torque of my Triumph and Ducati twins though?, what was your take away re torque?
You notice the lack of torque at low rpm pulling away but otherwise is not so bad. Definitely happier screaming though
I hope I can save up enough next year, really want one and I bet it would sound great with a proper exhaust system!👍
Yes definitely. Good luck with the plan 👍🏼👍🏼
Great review, all the relevant info.... thanks ❤️
Thanks Martine 💯👍🏼
A really cool bike. I am glad they are making more learner friendly bikes. This is a very good looking bike. Probably plenty of real world power.
Yes it’s very good indeed!
How you liking it? I’m also 6’4” so I’m used to being too big for most bikes.
Thanks, my bike is on order!
Awesome 👍🏼
Owned a Trident 660 for 6 months now, love it. Im 5ft 10 85kg, I think I'm probably the max person size for the bike without looking a bit odd tho. Also the throttle lag is a bit strange, but you get used to it and then it's a non issue really; just weird at first. I would like to get an aftermarket exhaust soon though. Also: definitely worth buying a 7x5" plate to replace the monster that comes with it as standard (this is technically illegal, but the coppa would have to be in a really bad mood to actually get you in to trouble over it though).
Thank u for the review! My favorite sounding bike for sure!
Thanks buddy! Yes it does sound nice indeed 👍🏼
After having really bad experience with my Harley Davidson Street 750 in india..i am looking forward for Street Triple R and Trident..can you please share your thoughts which one of this looks more presentable on Road also the specifications comparison..
We haven’t ridden the Street Triple but it will be a bit faster.
awesome review guys, really comprehensive and complete .
Same. I couldn’t decide until I went to the shop and sat on both. I ordered a trident. Hasn’t come in yet. Happy shopping
@@dariahayward2319 awesome to hear that let me know how's it when you get it
@@jorgezt435 ok yes good point. It was pretty comfortable so I guess it would be fine on longer rides. Not like a ‘proper’ cruiser but ok
Great review. I can see this going straight to the top of the sales charts for middleweight nakeds. The Aprilia 660 Tuono has been mentioned but I think you have to look at the price. This bike is a great package for the money.
Thanks buddy. Yes definitely going to sell well 💯
0:52 I can hear Mr Darcy but can’t see him......
Yes the art of camouflage 😁
As always, thank you for the video👍🤙
Thanks buddy 👍🏼👍🏼
Premieres 3/8/21 August that'll be a long wait !
We do it the right way round here lol! We won’t keep you waiting that long.
Great vid guys Triumph just seem to produce great bike after great bike. Would love a rip on the Trident
Thanks buddy! Yes top notch
I recognise those roads, was from that area. I have a Trident not been able to ride yet but am looking forward to it. Age aimed at ? I'm a pensioner do feel much younger though .lol Good review ,thanks
Thanks buddy. That’s great 💯
Racing rooster, never forget “you’re only as old as the woman you feel”. I’ve got one and I’m 66 yrs old this year. What the hell, you’re a long time dead mate
At this price point Triumph hit a jackpot, there are a lot of clients swapping bikes on their policies at the insurance company Im working for.
Really ok that’s interesting 👍🏼👍🏼
Great Video and bike review, it’s a very good looking bike in my opinion, I will most probably test ride it next week, hopefully. On a side fun note, Ol’ man if Disney ever decide to do a live action movie for the little mermaid you should be casted as her father king triton :)...Anyway keep up those great reviews...cheers ✌🏼👍🏼
Thanks buddy! Haha yes always up for a hollywood movie or two 👍🏼
@@MrDarcy-OlMan hahaha...I think you are most probably on the right track to the hollywood walk of fame, they all started from youtube, specially bike reviews. ;) :D ...cheers mate
@15:06 haha, gotta hurry and get that last bit in.
I really like this bike. Wouldn't mind having this as a second bike just for running canyons.
Yes haha👍🏼 It’s a great bike 👍🏼
I love the look and it seems quick, but I’ll stick to the scrambler 1200 I reckon! Mostly because I bought it first and have no money left 😂 great review tho gents!
👍🏼👍🏼 the scrambler is a great bike
Good honest review!
Thanks buddy
Yes 💯👍🏼
Very good review in all ways. Since I m from Sweden I can inform you that the manes of the viking Gods are: Tor, Oden and Freja.
Great review has a new rider myself would you choose trident or z650 ?
Thanks buddy. Definitely Triumph Trident! 💯
im 6'3 and i prefer small bikes. even cruisers i prefer short wheel base like the sportster. i think its because i started to ride as a child i think it always bring a good mood into me to ride 'small' or feel big on the bike
Ok I get that 👍🏼👍🏼
Looks great. Speed Triple Rider here. Not sure I like the sound however
Thank you for riding this one! I'm tall enough to see how this one is a no go for me... Not really a problem, 'cause there's enough out there to choose from. :)
thanks buddy. Shame for Triumph; good for you 👍🏼👍🏼
