I have to say i totally didn´t do builds catered to the pilots abilities and just laser and ppc boated my way through the campaign which worked like a charme with the balancing this game has right now. equip half of your mechs with ppcs, the other with medium/heavy lasers and focus fire on one target after another while keeping as much distance as possible will win any mission rather easily and you never have to worry about ammo. as soon has you have the nova this is a blast. however for my second playthrough i´ll definitely try some more special builds which should make it more interesting and need a more varied playstyle.
From what I have seen in game anecdotally, is the evade factor is at max when perpendicular and gets reduced for ever degree off axis from that until it reaches 0%. So if you are running 45° instead of the full 90°, I believe, you only get 50% of your evade factor, and so on.
Great. I do run heavy affiliation and mad dog for Niamo to get that 1.3x multiplier. Good next pilot is 2 of them, Mia and Samantha. There are more ballistic based but is Mia really much better or are they pretty much the same.
Really has to be said that adding ammo is important. Ammo based weapons shoot very fast with upgrades and skills, and you need that to fend off the IS hordes. Though for the Dire Poof I use the Widowmaker parts to mix LPLs in instead, her AI seems to do fine with that as multirole. Final missions are all slugfests anyway.
Never mind, I swear it was a glitch. Only advantage is a bit more armor, but less structure: It does look like the mad dog lrm 60 build is just better than the loki. I added the same weapons, ammo and heatsinks and have 2 tons left over. Plus slightly more armor. The Loki's only advantage I can see is the ecm and a bit of internal structure. I'm not sure if I'm missing something. You did title it the best builds lol
Available tonnage is 0.5 tons more on the Hellbringer, plus it has slightly more cooling. The Mad Dog has a bit more armor but worse cooling. Both work well.
@@TTBprimenever mind, I swear it was a glitch. The 2 extra tons disappeared. More likely I miscounted the ammo, lol. The mdd is ahead by 24 for armor but it's marginal. It also has 3 cooling. The loki needed a ton and a half of extra armor, which canceled out the advantage of the pod tonnage and heatsink, so the ferro fibrous wins out. Hbk has more structure, and you can distribute that 1.5 tons of armor for more efficient protection, so basically a draw. Someone was saying having melee would cause the AI to use that at close range, and the mdd can be configured with no melee ability. The hbk needs to be unlocked anyway for Liam, so saving honor is the main reason not to go MDD in my opinion, which is a decent reason. Small mdd wins: * cheaper to replace * prime is decent lrm boat * 5 tons lighter * better split between adder and tbr That's my vulture defense inspired by me failing to count to 11 lrm ammo lol

Go with mad dog specialization, with heavy mech spec Then use the mad dog Omni pod with the 6 SRMs 50% missile spread with just standard SRMS on the mad dog and Naomi is absolutely disgusting
is it good ttb? i want pvp, but if the story telling is good, id still love it. My opinion is that the battletech universe is bland af, from the stand point of what they do bring to the public versus what they could. For example, reginald vanjaster is the perfect john wick type protagonist for a story from the pivot point of clan, inner sphere, and word of blake.
Nice idea for a series, looking forward to seeing what builds you come up with for the other pilots.

There's also a way to make the hero executioner a lrm boat as well, but doesn't allow for a whole lot of amo or armor
