    Really cool video review and comparison of two of the best sights on the market. I do want to mention that there are 2 small tensioning screws for the elevation or yardage knob/wheel right next to the locking lever. If you want less resistance when turning the wheel, then just loosen the 2 screws.

    • @BackwoodsPursuit
      @BackwoodsPursuit  3 роки тому +1

      Thanks for the watching and for the tip! I hadn't noticed those tensioning screws..
      I'll check it out! Thanks!

    I bought the Black Gold, I actually think the fact that it's a bit harder to turn is a benefit for me, less likely to accidentally bump it off a setting. I bought a 3 pin set up 20/30/40 which I really like it. I almost bought the Fast Eddie however just because it was a bit cheaper.

      Thanks for watching and the comment! Yeah, there can benefit to the stiffer slide on the Black Gold....comes down to personal preference for sure.

    Just FYI your issue with the Spot Hogg locking lever (at 3:38 in the video) can be mitigated by loosening the lock lever set screw and adjusting the lever to a better position and snugging the set screw back up.

      Thanks for the heads up on that! I'll have to play with it😁.

    Great video, I’m a spot Hogg guy not because it’s better, but it’s just a better value and not enough difference with black gold for the money

    I am near sighted, meaning, i need glasses to see far. I usually take my glasses off to look at something close or to read. I am having a problem using my bow, in whuch with glasses, i can see the target or deer well, but with the same glasses, my sight is blurry. I cant take my glasses off. Can you please reccommend a bow sight to use. I will not be shooting more than 40 yards.

      Hey Scott! Hmm...well, these Spot Hoggs are great sights, and the Black Gold sights are awesome as well. If you've tried the Spot Hogg and it's not working out, maybe give Black Gold a try. Thanks for watching!

    Price point is not apples to apples. Wouldn’t you think the hog father would be a more fair price point comparison?

    • @BackwoodsPursuit
      @BackwoodsPursuit  3 роки тому +1

      Yeah, the Hogg Father would be a better comparison based on price point. These were the two I had though and had been testing/playing with. Thanks for the insight!

    Great video these two are the two I’m trying to decide (nockon edition FE). Which of these would you pick in your opinion for western big game?

    • @BackwoodsPursuit
      @BackwoodsPursuit  3 роки тому +3

      Thanks man! Dang....both are perfect for western big game really. It just comes down to personal preference with the way they adjust, the knobs etc. I find myself leaning a bit towards the Black Gold personally because I find it easier to get set up and adjust and the lighter weight, but they are both awesome sights!

      I am all about my sword sights. I bought a bow (mathews monster MR6) from a pawn shop and it had sword sights on it. That was 9 years ago, and I still have them on my Halon 6. They are a similar design to the ones in the above video. I bought 2 more to put on my 3-D (MR6) bow as well as my backup (mission blaze). They are definitely worth checking out.

    The only problem is the sights are half or more than the price of a modern good bow. I guess that’s why I’m still rockin my stock tru glow lol.

    I just got a fast Eddie xl and it vibrates pretty bad everytime I shoot. Is that normal? I've tightened every bolt.

    A multi pin with sight tape how does that work? Is the adjustment tape just for the top pin?

    • @BackwoodsPursuit
      @BackwoodsPursuit  3 роки тому +2

      Great question! Yes, the sight tape is set up to be "tied" to whichever pin you select as your "movable" pin(even though the entire sight housing moves). I've got a number of other videos on the channel here on how to set up both of those sight as well as the sight tape. When the sight is set to its zero, each pin goes back to it's set yardage, i.e. 20, 30, 40, 50, 60. Does that make sense?

    Is the only difference between the Mountain Lite 3 pin and the Ascent Verdict Assault 3 pin the micro adjust? If so, what site head would you recommend over the two? Thanks brother, dig the vids.

    • @BackwoodsPursuit
      @BackwoodsPursuit  3 роки тому

      Thanks for watching! They are mostly the same site, but the Mountain Lite has the dual indicator and the lighter weight base. To my knowledge the pins etc are all the same. If the dual indicator is something you think you'd use, it's a cool site. If not, go with the Ascent Verdict for simplicity.
