Spathaglottis Plicata is a tropical perennial plant from the orchid family
Is grown for its large stalked flower blooms
Sunlight: Partial bright sunlight, East, West, South
Watering : consistent watering
Fertilizer: compost thrice a month
Potting mix: 30 pc compost, 50 pc sand and 20 pc soil or coco peat
Prune the spent flower stalks
Propagate with the help of seeds and division

Thanks so much. I've had only one other terrestrial orchid, going on 25 years, don't even know what it is, but it stays hearty with morning sun. Hey, so do I. I Live north shore Maui; when not in drought, we're mercifully wet. I too fertilize with compost. Cheap and generous.

I think that is what I had wbdn I ljvdd in Puerto Rico. They grewin the soil z x in full sun atta hed go zsrvd bark. I had in purple znd orange.
I have since moved and brought some of the plants but have cold winters.
How do I plant and take care oc them now?. I do own other or orchids with lights.

The orchids are potted in doil which is very hard. Should i washed off the soil if rooting ball and then place the plant in potting mix ? Please reply. Thanks.
No tease the roots and add it in a new potting mix as mentioned as earlier

Hi ! Beautiful orchids ! Just a question ,since you do not have covered terrace how do you save your plants from rains ?rather heavy rains ?I have plants kept in a veranda ,would love to have a lot of them on Terrace ,it’s the rain which stops me from keeping them there !

I have many orchids for a long time but this is first time I've bought 2 ground orchids your video helped a lot but my only inquiry is how often should this orchid be fertilized and which fertilizer is needed for them will be waiting for your reply and thank you for the tips.
