    Spathaglottis Plicata is a tropical perennial plant from the orchid family
    Is grown for its large stalked flower blooms
    Sunlight: Partial bright sunlight, East, West, South
    Watering : consistent watering
    Fertilizer: compost thrice a month
    Potting mix: 30 pc compost, 50 pc sand and 20 pc soil or coco peat
    Prune the spent flower stalks
    Propagate with the help of seeds and division

    Thanks so much. I've had only one other terrestrial orchid, going on 25 years, don't even know what it is, but it stays hearty with morning sun. Hey, so do I. I Live north shore Maui; when not in drought, we're mercifully wet. I too fertilize with compost. Cheap and generous.

    Awesome and a warm explanation of this wonderful plant.Yes I have both in white and Purple ands already bloomed up.I was not aware how to Propagate and use soil for these kind of plants...your video helped me.Thank you sir its time for me to move to my garden.

    I think that is what I had wbdn I ljvdd in Puerto Rico. They grewin the soil z x in full sun atta hed go zsrvd bark. I had in purple znd orange.
    I have since moved and brought some of the plants but have cold winters.
    How do I plant and take care oc them now?. I do own other or orchids with lights.

      Keep them in a greenhouse set up or in a warm room.during winters

    Very informative video USB. Lovely flowers.Somehow I felt that d ground orchid is easier to grow compared to d epiphytes.Where can I source these from?It was v surprising to see that U have added soil n compost to d ground orchid.neither of these r used for d epiphytes.

      Yesterday I was seeing ur video about' Turmeric ixora' . simply fell 8m love with it.its true to its name. It just disappeared suddenly n coulnt find it.i will definitely look out for it d next time I visit a nursery.

    Thank you for a informative video. I was serching a useful video of ground orchid. I am learning much from your tutorial. I have a query, i bought two ground orchids from nursery. The orchids are potted in doil which is very hard. Should i washed off the soil if rooting ball and then place the plant in potting mix ? Please reply. Thanks.

    Hi ! Beautiful orchids ! Just a question ,since you do not have covered terrace how do you save your plants from rains ?rather heavy rains ?I have plants kept in a veranda ,would love to have a lot of them on Terrace ,it’s the rain which stops me from keeping them there !
