30:41 Revivify won't bring back lost bits, it just jump starts you. You'd need a Resurrection, True Resurrection, or Reincarnate spell. But I'd say that, since the body can stay biologically alive for a short while after being cut off from the brain, you should be able to fix the brain-loss with a Regenerate spell, but I'd shorten that hour into a matter of rounds, 1d4 at most..
I find it very interesting, It’s more like an organic computer, very capable with sophisticated systems, but lacks a self consciousness. This really is a neat idea.
Matt Coleville did the same pairing in the MCDM campaign " the Chain" when they took the Somnium Tenebrous. The Mind Witness was the navigation system.
26:50 Elementals, Storm Giant Quintessants can turn into a shape that doesn't include one, also liches. That's three off the top of my head. STEP. UP. YOUR. GAME. Dungeoncast.
Genies and Genasi would probably have brains probably most if the evil prince's too if not all. Liches usually still have a brain tho they don't technically need it to live or anything
@@onyxgrnr666 Sorry, by elementals I meant the standard variety. And no, Liches don't have brains, ever seen one depicted? They are almost always skellyboyz. Even when they aren't, their body has usually been around for ages, the brain is definitely gone. Also Genasi aren't elementals, they are part elemental. And the princes of elemental evil are big blobs of their element, why would they have brains?
On the idea of what all the mind flayer creatures are modelled off. I think these things are just a gene-modifier staple. All these things (and more) can be found in games like Xcom, for instance. If you can reshape creatures to fit your design, and have a need to capture prey, you're going to make a hunting dog.
I want to buy some merchandise from y'all and I was wondering if you've thought about putting the Superquest Saga logo on the left chest and then the colored Dungeon Cast on the back? I'd love to buy that on a hoodie if you ever create one. Love the content and look forward to it all every week.
@@Thedungeoncast when you do please post about it and let us know in the video, I track the posts on Twitter as best I can but I've not missed a single episode since I've started watching your channel and I've gone back and watched them all from episode one. Miss the sage advice too, haha!
I wonder if the reason why Beholders become weaker when they transform into a Witness because the Squidwards are afraid of a situation like what happens when they try to transform a Dragon.

Such a great channel. Dungeoncast and webdm are the only 2 channels a DM needs! These monsters would work well with an elder brain dragon

The Flumph Magic The Gathering card was quite delightful to behold
The madness of Demogorgon must really be gwtting to them.thwy switched places

My earliest encounter with intellect devourer was in Neverwinter Nights.
Another episode to devour!! Can't wait!
400 babies! Lol That popped into my head only a couple of days before I saw this video. A deep cut indeed
You guys should cover the Linnorm Dragons of older editions. Those dragons were insane with power.
I love Flumphs!
Love Illithid and Underdark lore you guys cover.
Shout out to Ebony Maw!
Always good to get beholder content
Excellent episode as always!
Nice Outlaw Star hat
Thanks for feeding my mind more dnd 🙂
Intellect devour is the face huger of the D&D multiverse.
I’ve been waiting for this one!
30:53 sounds like a regeneration revive combo

Godammit I thought the slippies thing was dead and buried where it should be.

I’d actually buy that!
That's a great idea! We may have to consider that for some new designs! Thanks for the input!

Could you use the 7th level spell regenerate to regrow their brain?
That was exactly my thought.
It wouldn't have the same memories though
Yes, that's what it's for
@@حَسن-م3ه9ظ that's not in the spell, that would be your dm fiat. Memories are tied to the soul in d&d
Not today Squidward.
Is 400 babies from the Nutri-Grain "BABIES EVERYWHERE?" commercial?
The spells Resurrection and True Resurrection would work to bring the person back as they replace missing body parts. But not Revivify as it does not.
Reincarnate would work too, although the person would come back a bit different
I wonder if there are seedy establishments in the underdark, where you can pay to not have a brain for 30 minutes. Sounds pretty awesome.
I wonder if the reason why Beholders become weaker when they transform into a Witness because the Squidwards are afraid of a situation like what happens when they try to transform a Dragon.
Does an intellect devourer's detect sentience go through tiny hut?
Wait they can still warp reality after the transformation?
KENYANS!
Leave it to Brian to derail the creature description again.
Regenerate restores body parts.
Why are you on the left bryan?
Dammit you switched places again. WTH Brain did you learn nothing from the first time 🤣😂🤣
(the 🧠 was on purpose)😁
Intelligent creatures without a brain?? Hmm.... elementals?
Read a book to regain intelligence 😂
That or a large amount of smart food 😂
First
Regenerate the brain?
