Personally I love watching videos where people redecorate their homes using items that they already have. It just proves that you don't always have to go out and spend a bunch of money to makeover and refresh a space. I think it is way too easy to be influenced by social media and to over spend on items that you truly don't even need (and in my case, don't always end up loving once I have them ~~ I have found that just because I like the look of something in someone else's home doesn't necessarily mean that I want it in my own home). So my takeaway from this video is to try and use what you already have, and then only go out and purchase items to fill in and that bring you joy!!

Yes! I agree completely! And I also like to see different decor in different homes. When I see the same things repeated over and over it gets so boring to watch! I like to see something that the homeowner loves...not just what Is trending at the moment.

Winter is my favourite season and I love snow and cold. I am more distressed that it has been too mild and not very snowy where I live in Canada. I think the way some people feel about January is how I feel about July!

I love all your videos, but i get so invested in new builds. Ha. Would LOVE to see more design decisions, process, updates etc. Especially now that the walls are going up soon/now.
I would LOVE more house build content. Although I know it’s not applicable to everyone, I think everyone could benefit from thinking about the process to plan spaces. And because I’m headed toward a house build I would love anything on how to space plan or what you did to envision the new build spaces. Whole house color palettes, furniture planning, how you and tour husband prayed through the finances and decisions involved, etc. ❤️

100% that’s how I feel. Once I know I’m moving or an offer has been accepted on my current home I stop wanting to decorate it. I keep it minimal, clean and buy nothing new at all. I spend that time making notes on things for the new house (my husband is a licensed residential contractor, we’ve moved a lot through the years) I’m so excited to follow your journey on your new build, each new build is different and I’m always intrigued by them all. So excited for you ❤

Thanks for another relaxing and encouraging video Amy. After Christmas I am ready for Spring but oh well it’s not quite that time. I am older and have many health issues and this time of year tends to get me down. So, bring out some greenery and yes sometimes some florals help. I understand when your about to move it is really hard to get into decorating the home your in. Before long you will be in your new home and decoratitn it. 😊❤😊

Amy loving all your videos! I need help with where to start when I’m overwhelmed as I now am. So much every where to purge and too much clutter. I want to do something that will inspire me to keep going. My home hasn’t always been this way but I’m 72 now and have stuff I don’t need. But some that I like. Just not sure where to start to begin organizing and purging. Thank you for all you do♥️If you or any of this sweet group can give me ideas I’d love it. Hey Amy, your home is beautiful as always. In terms of my mental health, I feeling great! Winter is NOT my favorite season at all 😊😊 but, I am choosing to think on the really good things in mylife. Last year was very difficult for me but thus year I have made it up in my mind to think on what God has done and is doing in mylife and how I've overcome so much. I love the sun and warmth (btw, I live in Upstate NY lol), sand, beach and everything summer so I'm just thinking on the summer months that is to come and that makes me happy. Also your videos are very warm and cozy so that helps too 😊😊. Thanks so much for sharing.

Hi Amy! Your house looks fabulous as always... and yes, i can understand losing interest in your current home when you know you're going to be moving... it's like, why? I come alive in the fall and winter, love these seasons, and not looking forward at all to spring... summer sucks here in Florida, LOL. But fall will be here again soon enough..

Your home always looks so peaceful and cozy. I know exactly what you mean, although it is amazing and mostly fun to build, by the time you're at the picking out garage doors part of the build, you are done. It was like a full time job, questions, decisions, running back and forth.... it was tiring. I kept everything minimal and easy at the place we were living while our home was being built. It's quite a process but will be so exciting to decorate when it's finished. Enjoy the process. ❤

Hi Amy, your voice is so calming. Ive missed some of your videos lately and im sorry. Im decluttering my home during these cooler months. The house is so empty since my husbands passing. Some days its just one hour at a time especially as I am decluttering the space that once was ours. My cats are a great comfort in the evenings and early mornings. I know that if was not for the grace of God I could not walk down this rd.

Like you, we live in OH, currently facing long, gray days with a couple inches of snow a week ago. Now we're living with rain, rain, rain after several days of dense fog, too!! Born and raised in the NE part of the state, we lived with gray days plus a lot of snow throughout a winter season that grew to last for six months - too long for us, so now we have a different kind of gray winter season in the SW area of our state.
While I've been down for the count after pulling my back, it was not possible to convert my Winter tree to Valentines theme, so our daughter and three y/o granddaughter added the red ribbons, hearts and ornaments to our five ft, tabletop tree. It is bringing me such joy to have the added color in our living room!!💯 I simply crave color, and red with white lights delivers a warmth in the winter that delights my eye and warms my very being!!!💖
I'm ever grateful our Lord made a world full of beautiful color, Amy.😊
I so enjoyed watching you decorate, refreshing the living area with pretty items. Before we know it Easter will be here, so your Momma and three baby bunnies will be right at home for Spring, too! Wonder how many will have cold and snow with our celebration day falling so early this year!!

I find that getting out in nature always refreshes my spirit. Even in the cold or especially when it's cold, a walk in a park or a historic neighborhood is inspiring. It seems that when I get home I can enjoy a cup of hot tea, start a roast or soup, and tidy up a little

Thank you for the motivation, it’s so hard on the weekend to want to do anything “extra” but I can watch your videos and drink some coffee and it inspires me to get up and do something and then I feel so much better. I felt the same “disconnect” from our old house when we were building our dream house. I love to keep it minimal in the winter time, after all of the Christmas decor comes down.
I love all the calming colors through out your home. You adked how everyone is doing, I am 53 living in Virginia Beach, seasons change here, when I was younger loved the summer now it's too hot. Lol Winter is too cold. Love the spring and summer. Cant wait to see how you decorate your new home:)

Busy busy busy here trying to organize & downsize a tiny bit. But mostly working on a place for everything. Its always a challenge in a small home. Mobile home here. My goal has been on fire for about a mth. In everything needs to have a pement place of its on & it will be easier to manage. Small spaces just have to or its a disaster.
Here lies the problem. I'm a crazy craft person. Crochet, quiltmaking reclaiming furniture, heck what am I saying I save junk from the dreeded landfill. Scrap booker as well. Now I'm dying to make some journals. Not really to much like the ones there are making. I'm going to put a few things inside but what & where & who decided to make journals that have no space to journal in. (Write real words & life experiences in. Mine will have pages to write in other things to.. Crafting takes up a lot of room & its hard to find a place for everything! But the worst thing is, putting it away in a safe place & for the life of me I can't remember where that safe place is! 😂

I felt the same when we moved from the country to the city. I couldn’t wait to get back to the city. I didn’t feel like doing anything to my old house. I felt like i was a detached from something I once loved but was ready for fresh memories and a fresh start.
Amy, I love all your videos and look forward to each one. The home decorating and cleaning and just sharing the ways you keep your home peaceful and inviting are my favorites. About three years ago, I was working on a lot of home projects to prepare our 100-year-old house to sell. I did A LOT of painting and little updates here and there in the process. And I kept thinking to myself, Gosh this looks lovely. Why didn’t I do this sooner? I could feel the difference by showing love to our family’s home. I always get that sense from you, and it’s inspiring! I wonder, how will you prepare your current home for selling? We are moving houses too this summer and currently i too do not care much about redecorating my current house because im busy working and i have to declutter and pack.
My winter blues has started. I started my gym membership beginning of Dec and i only went 3 times. I want to get out of my rut. I am going through some personal issues that is causing depression. I want to go to the gym but im depressed.

I know the Golden Retriever hair is a lot to keep up with, but the joy my Maddie brought me was so worth it. She passed away in October and I miss her terribly.
As far as winter goes, I always look forward to January being a month to 'hibernate' after the business of the holidays. Knowing that the weekends are pretty much free ( I work outside the home) to make a big pot of soup and sit down to my sewing machine or do some embroidery or just cuddle on the couch in front of a fire and read or watch a movie. This I look forward to and brings me joy❤️

I would love if you have a Q & A about building a home; how you arrived at the type of home you wanted; what your design choices have involved; how it has been knowing what decisions have had to be made; was your husband as involved as you would like or did he leave a lot of the style designs up to you. I love watching new home builds and/or remodeling projects. I'm always interested in how taxing it was to make all the decisions needed to get everything right. Did you hire an architect or have a plan in mind? I can't wait until you are in your new home and to see everything come together.
