I have the opportunity to get a hold of one of these for dirt cheap for a mancave project. Do you know if you can operate this manually without an interface? Is the interface what supplies the flash patterns, or is it just essentially a switch?
With any of the Federal Signal smart lightbars I call them or the lightbars with the ethernet cable, you will need the serial interface module for it or you can get and use one of the new smart siren setups, 4/6/9 button controllers with network or ignition power as well so you do have a few options you can use.
Easy way to describe this is if you have the wiring schematic for the serial interface module so you know what wires activate what patterns that you are looking for and then hook those corresponding wires to the switch box for which ever switch or toggle you are looking to activate.
Hello I recently acquired a Legend and Arjent S2 light bar everything works as it should however for some reason I can not activate a ALLEY and TAKEDOWN lights separately. The FLASH TAKEDOWN/ALLEY option work fine by applying 12 Vdc to the Red/Black wire but when I apply 12 Vdc to the designated left alley, right alley and takedown wires they don’t lid up on both bars that I have. Am I doing something wrong or is there different way of lighting this lights up? I see on your videos that you are able to turn on left alley, right alley and takedown independently on the Legend and Arjent bar. I would appreciate any help. Thank you.
When you are trying to activate your alley lights and takedown lights individually, are you applying the +12Vdc power o the orange/red wire (this color is right alley), green/black (left alley) and white/black (takedown) while having your solid black and black/white wires to ground? That is the only thing I can thing of is maybe you may be activating the wrong color wire, or could be the wiring may have gotten switched in the wire harness side of the serial interface module. Are you using the same interface module for both lightbars or separate modules? Another thing I was thinking is maybe the module isn't setup correctly with the dip switches or worse case, something has happened internal to the model where a resistor or capacitor, etc may have burned up on the single trace for each one individually but that I think would be a stretch.
@@rjracing38 Thank you for the info again, I was trying to activate this lights in programming mode so that is why they did not work, totally my mistake, cheers from Chicago. Greg
I have this bar setup to where I can use the 3-button controller, 6-button controller or the interface module hooked up to a 4 button switch box with a slide switch. At the time of filming, I used one of my SW400SS switch boxes wired to a Federal Signal Serial Interface Module.
Yes, depending on how the departments would like their bars setup, you can put the takedown setup in the middle/center of the bar or slightly outward to give a little more light. Some of the new bars now give you the option you can make the entire front of the bar be the take down lights.
@@rjracing38 RCMP did use this setup on the wider versions like on a Tahoe, Silverado, Suburban, Econoline, Chevy Express and Ford F Super Duty and rarely on the Police Interceptors like the Explorer and Taurus. Sometimes it setup in the middle
@@GRC6401 yup, the Century Elites and legacy, the low pro versions of the Liberty 2 and Freedom 4 bars, are in the center and the Cenators are almost to the edges of the lightbar similar to the Edge 9xwhile the Justice has them towards the outer edges. Whelen for their take down lights and their alley lights still utilize their LR11 led setups.
Amazing lightbar and configurations 😊
Thank you! Cheers!

what controller are you using?

This one has the white leds is not placed in the middle like the other ones

@@GRC6401 Yup, long as there is good lighting for everyone's safety, that's what matters.
@@rjracing38 It currently applies for the Whelen Century for the newer units
