Mavic Air 2 is an upgrade to the previous sensor, this one is a 1/2 inch, so details in shadows are a bit better.
Not using the 48 megapixel, I don't like it. Just using the normal 12mp

I bet some 17 year old kids goes to University, would love to edit amazing picture but don't have much time to work and rather spend that 10$ on extra mr.noodle. I bet some people deliver pizza or work at McDonald as well. Imagine... maybe some people can't even work because of disabillity... bunch of losers right?
@@ginoXcaron People on disability get SSI, and they can still work, so they still have money. They can still work jobs, so don't act like they are useless just because they have a disability. I was on the rescue squad with a guy in a wheelchair. He had his EMT and was an emergency dispatcher. I dated a deaf woman and she built heat transfer coils, and later discovered her mentor was working the system having her build the first part and he finished them, so he got credit and at the end of the year he earned this fat bonus by stealing credit for her work. My nephew has special needs and gets SSI, but little because he works a lot.

I didn't seem to have all the options at my fingertips as this guy did. I did still learn a lot. I used to use PhotoShop and I was familiar with masking, but the tutorials were not very clear. Once I got past that hiccup things were so much easier.

it takes a bit of time to understand the tools(if you watch a tutorial and play around it'll go faster than you think). once you get how to use them it's not that hard. The learning part is worth it.
Why do you prefer the 12 mp pictures over 48 mp ones? I'm a noob when it comes to cameras, and I always thought the more megapixels the better.
A lot of the time, most of those pixels are lost to pixel dumping. What do I mean by that? A 4k screen displays 3840x2160. That's around 8.2MP. The highest resolution computer monitor avaliable, for only $5000, is an 8k monitor, is a 33MP image. On the highest resolution single monitor, you are losing about 15MP of resolution. Keep in mind that most people will be looking at these images on their phone. The iPhone 12 Pro Max has a screen resolution of 2778x1284, or 3.5MP. So, your 48MP image will be scaled down to that 3.5MP, or 8.2MP on a 4k TV, just the same as a 12MP image will be scaled down. In summary, camera sensors resolve WAY more detail that the VAST majority of devices and monitors can display. The advantages of a higher MP count is more freedom when cropping (crop down the image, and still have the same resolution as a lower MP camera zoomed in to the same crop, basically a 48MP camera cropped 50% is the same as a 24MP camera zoomed to the same crop), and print size, however even a 16MP camera can print at billboard size at good quality. Higher MP cameras can actually be detrimental depending on what you are doing. Because there are more pixels crammed into the same size sensor, the pixels are smaller, and aren't able to gather as much light, leading to worse performance in low light. It all comes down to what you need to do, and what you are taking pictures of and for, but 99% of the time, a higher MP count is to sell a camera at a higher price. That is why pro camera bodies, like the flagship Nikon D6 for $6,500 only has 21MP.

Is the only way to get raw off the mavic by taking the memory card out?
I exported my photos from the micro SD card to lightroom and tried exporting a photo from Single Shot mode and 48mp Mode. the Single shot is a DNG File of about 24mb and the 48mp is about 92mb. When I try to export them as a jpeg without editing both photos, the Single becomes a .5mb photo while the 48mp becomes about 2mb. on the other hand, the jpeg right out of camera is about 4mb for Single and 15mb. Is it normal for the DNG export turn into such a small jpeg file?

hi i have a question i recently took some pic With MV air 2 but the Single Raw pics look nice but very small if i zoom in i lose the quality, i saw the resolution size is 960x720 is this normal???but the jpg has a resolution of 4000x3000

If you had to choose between the Mavic Pro and the Mavic Air 2 which one would you prefer?
mavic air 2 by quite a bit. The original mavic pro 1 shoots in H.264 at 60 megabits per second, the Air 2 does 120 mbps in H.265 AND the sensor size increased. Doesn't have that weird flat noise in low-light that the mavic pro 1 had (at least not as bad) and its also a way more solid build. Feels less plasticky. For photography they are both good and shoot awesome 12 megapixel photos. DJI has some really good photography drones for cheap, but this one is a bit better in low light just because of the increased sensor size. I don't care about the 48 megapixel, its more of a neat trick but not an increase in quality
@@QuickAssTutorials DJi has come a long way from the mavic 1. As good as the mavic air 2, I'm thinking of waiting for the next mavic pro (3) to come out before i make an upgrade.
