Thank you, Cycle Cruza... I was thinking about getting a Chinese e motorcycle but had doubts & had to sleep on the decision for weeks but you UA-cam video made me think twice about it & now I don't think I want to waste the long hard earned loot. Nice one for the heads up video 👍
Great video!! Always great to watch. Great commentary about the topic, but also about the adventure, like we're all riding with you. Not the range I was expecting, but still not bad. I wasn't thinking about the weight gain, much heavier than an ebike or Bomber 😅. 30+ miles at about 40% on a 60Ah battery really isn't bad... Impressive actually for this bike. Thanks again
Thank you for watching 🫡 Yea the range was around what I expected for this battery and weight of the bike. I'm probably looking at somewhere of about 50ish total miles on a full charge, which is pretty much good for my needs
The battery bar goes off the voltage of the battery and while you ride you get voltage drops or "sag" because the battery has to work to give you the amps. When you let of the throttle or turn the bike of the voltage goes up to where it really is again. Severe voltage drops is usually the sign of you trying to pull more amps then the battery really can handle or it's badly built and heats up to much under load.
Thank u so much this ebike is really good, im 15 years old and i have one first time i thought it will be so heavy and cant ride it but I actually its so good and im really thank u
Just a heads up; based on the undulations in your voice while riding, I’d be willing to bet your wheels are a bit out of balance, might be worth looking into for a smoother ride
Its strange about the battery % how fast it drains but when you turn it off for a few its fine must be a Chinese thing lmao. The range on that bike is pretty good man and with 40% hell ya man sweet for long cruises sick video brother catch ya on the next one man 🤘
Man that thing gave me range anxiety in the beginning, I thought I was going crazy. I was happy to find that it goes back to where its supposed be after turning off and on again. Appreciate you fam, hope everything is ok🫡
Brand new Chinese motorbikes are fine (Apart from the tyres), it's what happens over time that is the main concern, stress fractures, rust, atrophy and failure on essential parts, brake lines for example.
I've got a copy of an electric Honda Grom with a hub motor and it's got a square wave electronic controller they're really noisy and they make a lot of vibration.... And reduce the range... I need to pick up a sine wave controller
It was a pretty good run. Do you ever try to be a mess? 300 output or going with a 72 200 battery? I’m assuming you have a high DNS 300 output eight controller maybe a charger to it allow you to test the range suggestion 1
That range meter seems sketchy AF. I have never owned a motorcycle with ABS and it has never been an issue at all. Can you charge it at an EV charge station or do you have to use the charger it came with?
This bike uses a regular wall plug charger. They are constantly upgrading their bikes so might be able to pick one up with an EV charger. You gotta check with them
Nice video my guy! I am curious what kind of amps you are pulling from you battery pack.. Meaning what is your speed controller max line amps set to? I have the same style bike and get about 70miles range on 100ah pack going highway speeds 70-80 mph and a mix of city. just curious bc I am pulling 250 line and 850 phase bike has gone over 100mph im sure if i turned it down Id get more range tho...
Tbh i'm not 100% sure what the settings are on the controller but this bike is rated at 10kw so im assuming its pulling around 140-150a. not sure about the phase. I need to try and connect to it one day and see exactly whats going on. As far as your settings go, those are some nice numbers and you will for sure get more range if you turned it down a bit.
I've got a qs hub motor on my electric ground and it makes some type of weird noise when you're coasting..... And then it starts some type of vibration... It shakes the dashboard....
I'm looking to get one of these from the same seller and have a few questions. Is the tft display in English with mph out of the box or did you have to change the settings? What do you think about the belt driven one they have? Did you have to pay anything for customs or warehouse fees?
Screen was in english, I forgot if it was in km/h or mph, but its real easy to switch between the two... The belt drive one looks interesting for sure, I wish I had a way to test them both before making a purchase... I have experience with hub motors and I love how quiet they are so I decided to go with the hub tho im sure the belt drive would be just as fun. I paid to have it delivered to my door including all fees Hope this helps, I will be making a video about the whole process soon
Ya that huge drop is voltage sag & then once battery cools it gives you a bit more back. Probably have to switch to a Molicel battery. Maybe reach out to Chriscrosdingwires as I believe he built up one of those from scratch.
I agree... My guess is the 'C' (C=Capacity (Amps)) rating of the battery(s)/Cells. There are two 'C' ratings, Charge 'C' and Discharge 'C' rating. If the battery is rated at 1C Charge and the battery is 60A, You can charge it at 60A. If the discharge is 2C, you can discharge the battery at 120A. If the battery is discharged at 150A (for example only), the battery will not only get hot/warm, but also show a lower power (Volt) level on the meter. Stopping the discharge (stopping the bike) will allow the battery/cells to 'regroup' rebalance (and cool off). This will allow the 'Voltage' to increase. Just an FYI, the Battery Level Indicator (meter) measures Voltage levels and not Amps. A quick draw on the battery will decrease the Voltage (which is showing on your meter) stopping the battery draw (or reducing the draw) will allow the battery to balance back out and increase the Voltage again. Is there a solution? Yep 😁 But wait until you need to replace the battery pack to do it. My theory is that the individual Cells are rated at a lower discharge 'C' rating than what is required. Jokingly I mentioned that the battery is 'A big ol box of 21700s' the other day, but it might be true. There are 21700s that have extremely high discharge 'C' ratings now. Example 10C discharge 😮 Meaning a 60a battery can safely discharge at 600a. Hope this makes sense 🤷 Anyway, Great video (as always), be safe and enjoy. And keep an eye on the batt. Temps too.
You are right on the C rating. Yet, when building a battery, you have to check for individual cell capacitive resistance and test for true capacity before assembly. I know chrisknobwires doesn't do that, he only test for capacity and slaps a bms onto disbalanced cells relying on electronics and crossing fingers. The actual method to assemble a battery takes a little more effort and precautions, for instance, I have to have fire prevention equipments that none of these wannabe youtubers have, that shows me how poorly made diyers batteries are. Now, in ccw defense, he uses fancy equipment to make his batteries and he's quite knowledgeable.
Again, I agree. Didn't want to get into 'too much detail' 😁 on his page. Building batteries and customizable BMS's will work wonders. Like I mentioned before, wait until this battery is done. Way too expensive to do now with a new bike. Overall, I'm really impressed with the bike and the value too.
.... On my motorcycle it just shows voltage drop not the range..... So under power Just showing you the drop which is normal...... If I put it on speed #1The voltage doesn't really drop hardly at all it's almost full bars Steady full throttle on speed #1
