Regarding the loud pipes save lives business, it was studied about 30 years ago. They do not save lives. In an ideal setting with minimal background noise, no distractions, and a lack of structures to deflect and distort the sound, then yes, noise makes a difference. In the real world it doesn't work that way, not unless your exhaust points forward. Other motorcyclists tend to notice more but most of us are already riding/driving aware of bikes. i was looking for this bike to get when i eventually aim to get my moto id card, while theirs an one major con there is with the in seat sensor, the R.R. streamer on YT mentioned it supposedly stops theft and it is kills the ride speed if your too light in pounds too. the sensor must be tuned if your in the 118 pounds rang. despite the con this is the best fast charging supported bike on the market an the cheapest out of the box with that port. so ill be buying it down the road probably since i can legally an safely ride my ev-bike to work. lastly an modded suron to go on freeway can easily set you back 8-12g so this is a grate price
I got a different electric scooter. Pretty much came to more or less the same conclusion regarding “fast” sur ron/talaria ebikes (or even some of the newer “bicycle” looking things that top 40mph). I just got my M1, and no cop worries at all on my electric scoot (I got a CSC (Cineco) ES5, which doesn’t have the tech or top speed of that thing, but does get about 75 miles (real world), and up to 50mph or so, and was cheaper, only $5000ish after dealer and freight. Great for urban surface jaunts.) But yeah, if you’re going to ride something that is a “motorcycle” in all but advertising material, you should prolly just get an M1 and a real motorcycle with plates and DOT safety features.
18:20 If snail mode is put on a bike and it's triggered by a sensor in the seat, then it needs to be instant reaction imo. At red lights a lot of people will stand up for a split second and give their buttock a rest, and it could be kinda dangerous if your bike goes into limp mode every time you lift off the seat.
Very cool looking bike. Seems expensive relative to its performance compared to Suron type e dirt bikes or a gas bike. It could also use a little more Juice, 96v perhaps.
Idk if you'll look at this comment but There's a scooter i have thats comparable to The Emove roadster and stuff a little bit slower then it and is Less then both scooters in this video, I have the yisuntrek r8 It has about 2300w nominal for each motor And an absolute maximum of 11kw i have the 72v100ah 10,000w version but i did a personal test and had the manufacturer test it and is 5500w max per motor, you also have to ask yisuntrek specifically for the 10kw version since is not an option on the r8 thing but is a great option It can also have add ons i have the road version so it comes with 13x5-7 inch tires it can come with a steering damper but i personally dont think it needs it Nfc Screen with an app Thats very customizable And it cost Less then 2700usd if you have every option but i paid 2582usd for mine I did a range test at an average speed of 45mph and did 75 Miles of range it took all day for me to do Mine currently has 2k miles nothing has given up yet 1 year warranty i dont have like a gps or anything since i Cant afford phone service But my top speed i hit on 3 different occasions was 70-85mph and i tested it with a buddy in a car on a Pretty flat smooth highway so if your talking about budget king i personally think the yisuntrek r8 is undefeated

Yeah the prices for electric vehicles are ridiculous and need to really come down. These high prices don't make them practical or justified buys over gas-powered alternatives. These aren't saving the environment or my wallet. For now these are merely novelties.
@@apex_prey Huh? Electric bike is great for environment, the battery in that thing is pretty small. Not sure why you assume electric should be a bargain. Its a small company of course its not cheap. Always complaining
@MaxCaud Are you familiar with the processes of making batteries for electric vehicles? That's where the environmental aspect comes into play. The batteries are 0 emissions, but the process of making them isn't.

As a guy who drives both an old school Jeep and my wife's newer vehicle I think the 'loud pipes saves lives' is BS. In my canvas topped Jeep I really don't hear them till they are right next to me (assuming my radio is turned up) where I can easily see them. In my wife's modern vehicle noise suppression is so good I don't really hear the loud pipes till the bike passes, till then it just sounds like typical roadway background noise like diesel trucks and the ricers with their fart cans. For me keep my 2 wheeler whisper quiet, and the lights BRIGHT.
Agreed on the bright lights. Extra bright lights for the daytime that you can turn down at nighttime works wonders. Just make sure they're not so bright that they blind people.
Nice bike but before I spend that amount of money I would definitely have to see much better battery performance! I will stick with the cotton mouth dual mid drive which goes on a much lighter bike and looks like a bike and much lighter and cheaper. Pushing 6k watts and belt driven top speed of 67mph but under 60 is just fine and safer. Balance, battery placement and weight all play a huge role in staying smooth and stable at high speeds. Always make your tires puncture proof if you plan on high speeds. Also we have to look at two categories, smooth stable road bike or more sporty off road performance. The builds are so very different if you want the best performance for either off or on road!
Definitely super cool futuristic 👌. The safety stuff is there if you want it on. Good you can turn it off too. Its a good city cruiser. About the same price as a used Nissan leaf. I rather ride the bike 😂
@@ELECTRICBIKEDIYLIFE As far as I understand it, he actually buys all / most of what he reviews, and then puts it on Facebook Marketplace or whatever as nearly-new afterwards. A few commenters on other videos have bought things from him!

I think the loopholes that allowed any sound to be used as a warning was amended. Cause Teslas allowed users to upload an MP3 file to use as a warning sound but not anymore
i think they adfded the stoneage mode to turn off the sensors because early reviewers of this bike the bike would just die and you couldnt ride it because the sensors kept failing.
Unable to change drive mode while driving is a miss to me, at least allownthrnuser to change it quickly via a hardware button/trigger while moving is safer
Griffith Park looks the same in GTA5. This ebike is cool but looks to be slow. Can't wait for a real ebike that can replace a Ninja 500/650 twin cylinder for the same price and 5 to 10 minute recharge at the same price. Might be a long wait.
35:35 "Not going easy on this bike at all today..." with an average speed of 19mph. Eh. That's going pretty damn easy on the bike. Where I live in the Southeastern United States there are hills that continue upward for 1-2 miles where the speed limit is 45mph and you have to use full throttle + boost to maintain the speed limit. Boost only works for 15 seconds, then has a 30 second cooldown. So you can't even maintain the 45mph speed limit outside of those 15 seconds of boost. A hill near my house has a 45mph speed limit and my daily drive goes like this: enter the hill at 50 mph, use boost to maintain 50mph for 15 seconds, boost ends and the I AM's speed drops to 42mph full throttle, boost mode available again so I use it and increase to 45 mph, boost mode ends and I'm down to 37mph full throttle at the top of the hill. By this point, 4-8 cars are behind me and people are honking and trying to pass. This bike's power above 40mph is very very limited and if your commute involves hills of any real steepness, you'll struggle to maintain speed limits above 45mph. My TOTAL range on a full charge is around 30 miles. My work is ~15 miles away, so a 30 mile round trip commute and my battery is around 8% when I get home. One thing you didn't mention is once the battery hits 5% you are LOCKED into snail mode. So you're locked to about 5-8mph. This means you actually only have 95% of the battery to work with, since the speed at 5% isn't usable on public roads. I've had my I AM for around 2 weeks and the average power usage on my commute is 135Wh/m - that's insane considering my Tesla's power usage is 225Wh/m on the same drive and it's a whole car. Hub motors are quiet but you have to throw so much power at them to get torque at higher speeds. I'd like to see this same bike, same battery, with a mid drive or a dual hub motor The regenerative braking of the I AM is essentially negligible. On my daily work drive, the battery has ~1% more power when I arrive if I use regenerative braking vs. when I don't use it. The bike is fun. I like a lot about it. But the range when you're *ACTUALLY* not going easy on the bike is super, super low. If you live in California or somewhere with less steep hills I think this bike is a passable straight-road commuter but if you're dealing with any kind of incline where speed limits are 40+mph, it really really chews the battery and can't maintain the speed limit a lot of the time. The I AM at least offers a glimpse into a really good electric commuter but it needs about 50% more power, about 50% more range, and come in at a similar price point. There is a reason all of these bike reviewers are in California. It is the most populous state that has geographic elements that are favorable to electric vehicles. Florida is a similar state, and Texas. You don't see many reviewers with access to electric vehicles to "review" that are in the Southeastern Appalachin areas or the Northwest Rocky Mountain areas. There are some states where these electric bikes are way more usable than others and for people that live there, I think they are pretty good commuting options. As for my I AM, I am likely keeping it for a weekend fun bike and occasional commuter to my work. I do have power at my work so I can charge it while I am there, which is the beauty of electric vehicles. Just bear in mind that if your commute is anything other than flat and if your speed limits are 45+ mph on your drive, the I AM will struggle to keep up with the flow of cars.
@@tylerhamilton-nz8qs except for implying california is nice and flat when in fact it is highly mountainous. EVs need gears if they aren't going to have a huge expensive heavy battery
hub motors dont need higher power than any other motor. the problem with micromobility at higher speeds is that we have poor aerodynamics. also, for half the price you can get a unicycle that vastly outperforms this bike
@berengerchristy6256 I'm not implying california is flat. I'm implying these reviewers review these bikes in the flat parts of california with perfect weather so that their review numbers are as favorable as possible. The california reviews that have elevation are minor hills. You want mountains, you come see my commute. We have hills that go upward for 4 miles with zero flats. My issue is that the reviewer stated "I didnt go easy on the bike" with an average speed of 19mph and no real hills in sight. Where most these california rev9ewers review bikes it is as flat as a pancake.
@Blox117 they do need higher power than other motors to produce comparable torque. Go ride a 2000w mid drive motor followed by a 2000w hub motor. Its not even close. Hub motors have no gearing so they have to make up for that in power consumption. I haven't seen any unicycles on my roads - again, unicycles work in California and very few other places. I'd never even dream of riding a unicycle where I live. Imagine coming to a stop in traffic on a 40 degree hills slope and having to start again on a unicycle. Spoiler - you wouldn't. "Outperforming" is situational and there isn't a unicycle that would outperform the I AM on the roads where I live. Even on a flat, alienrides fastest unicycle does 45-50 mph with a 180lb rider and unicycles are notoriously bad on hills. Aerodynamics don't make a beans worth of difference under 40mph, and if wattage is the same, hub motors will lose every single sub 40mph race to a mid drive or a rim motor. There's a reason all of your super fast e-dirtbikes are using mid drive motors. Go look at the Stark Varg. Its pulling 80HP (speeds over 110mph uphill) while using the same battery size as the I AM and still getting comparable range. Its marginally lighter but the main thing here is it takes a lot less power for a mid drive to generate 80HP while the I AM uses 135wh/m generating 10hp.... my Tesla, a WHOLE CAR, only uses 225wh/m on the same drive. That's throwing more power at a hub motor to compensate for its *much* lower power output per input wattage.
As a commuter the topspeed and wind protection is to low I guess. The range is ok though. I probably with go for the faster and more affordable Segway E300es.
enjoy the ride 🤙⚡

i was looking for this bike to get when i eventually aim to get my moto id card, while theirs an one major con there is with the in seat sensor, the R.R. streamer on YT mentioned it supposedly stops theft and it is kills the ride speed if your too light in pounds too. the sensor must be tuned if your in the 118 pounds rang. despite the con this is the best fast charging supported bike on the market an the cheapest out of the box with that port. so ill be buying it down the road probably since i can legally an safely ride my ev-bike to work. lastly an modded suron to go on freeway can easily set you back 8-12g so this is a grate price
Hi Matt I was wondering if you could do a review on the euy f6f electric bike I you can that would really make my day
is the battery removable?
I got a different electric scooter. Pretty much came to more or less the same conclusion regarding “fast” sur ron/talaria ebikes (or even some of the newer “bicycle” looking things that top 40mph). I just got my M1, and no cop worries at all on my electric scoot (I got a CSC (Cineco) ES5, which doesn’t have the tech or top speed of that thing, but does get about 75 miles (real world), and up to 50mph or so, and was cheaper, only $5000ish after dealer and freight. Great for urban surface jaunts.)
But yeah, if you’re going to ride something that is a “motorcycle” in all but advertising material, you should prolly just get an M1 and a real motorcycle with plates and DOT safety features.
200 mile range and 4k. I’m all in
Nice review. Ive never seen so many honda civics in a video 😂
Where I live, you have to hit 65 just to get to a grocery store. Is this good enough for that?
18:20 If snail mode is put on a bike and it's triggered by a sensor in the seat, then it needs to be instant reaction imo. At red lights a lot of people will stand up for a split second and give their buttock a rest, and it could be kinda dangerous if your bike goes into limp mode every time you lift off the seat.
My anxiety on the highway will not make it
Any ideas about extra battery ?
I want the return of the surron 🙏
I want battle field 3 and 4 to come back but we can only wish
@ fr
Very cool looking bike. Seems expensive relative to its performance compared to Suron type e dirt bikes or a gas bike. It could also use a little more Juice, 96v perhaps.
If you see this comment, I asked that you could please do a review on the Cunfun Rz800 electric scooter
doesn't rain stop the touchscreen from working?
What do you like better, land moto or this?
The land moto is a better looking bike.
Since you have ridden all 3, Landmoto, Ryvid and this, which one is your favorite?
Awesome! 👋🤩👉 ✨🏍️✨
Surprised that you feared the mirrors, I thought that you had some real motorcycle experience.
did they fix all the issues from when surronster reviewed it?
can it be reg as a scoter or motorcycle???
in south fla I can prob get away as a scootet
It is classed the same as a 125cc in Europe (even though its power is certainly more than one). :)
dude i just saw this i was hoping you would review this. it looks so cool. i just lost my car and thought of getting a bike like this would be cool. and i hope i can run into you in LA cuz live in south cali too
7 thousand is STEEP
So it’s suppose to cost $1000 😂?
@@apex_prey are you familiar with the process of extracting, transporting, and refining petroleum? the "batteries are bad for the environment" is such an incredibly poor, uninformed take
would you buy it? Or what would you get instead?
I want one tbh
I was hoping you would find the skid row guy who chewed you out.
Wrong. Nit bull shot
@@sharonbraselton3135 Not wrong, that's my experience with over 40 years driving.
20:50 LA is indeed "some other form of art"
Hope you're doing alright
I think you have a rear camera, you could have used it, since you have no mirrirs.
So is this a test and return or keep bike?
Probably depends on your needs. It can go on the highway but it seems to be for local roads or in the city
@@XlxKeViinxlX I was asking him if it was a loaner bike or something he was given for the review.
Why does it matter. Will it delegitimize the review?
@@15longway No, just general curiosity. He usually gets to keep what's sent to him.
@@ELECTRICBIKEDIYLIFE As far as I understand it, he actually buys all / most of what he reviews, and then puts it on Facebook Marketplace or whatever as nearly-new afterwards. A few commenters on other videos have bought things from him!
They still haven't removed the boost button 😂 I don't support companies who do that, it's a $7,000 bike. Spend the extra money and upgrade the controller to handle the power all of the time.
Wrong no upgrade $7000 hydrogen full cell. Bike
i just bought my first electric scooter ever and on the app it says too activate atmosphere lanp linkage but i dont know what that means can someone explain it too me
great vid and I love the look of the bikeI wish wish my Ebike got miles like that Bike LOL
they should come with an inbuilt speaker so you can select whatever bike sound to go with the throttle lol.
It has a speaker, I'm sure they will do an over the air update soon for that.
I think the loopholes that allowed any sound to be used as a warning was amended. Cause Teslas allowed users to upload an MP3 file to use as a warning sound but not anymore
Very impressive
Is that playa vista? haha nice
i think they adfded the stoneage mode to turn off the sensors because early reviewers of this bike the bike would just die and you couldnt ride it because the sensors kept failing.
Unable to change drive mode while driving is a miss to me, at least allownthrnuser to change it quickly via a hardware button/trigger while moving is safer
I am sold
I want one in Black.
Got it
That snail mode is very dangerous.
I mean if you can have the reverse camera on when riding you could do without mirrors
Hey Matt, could you please do a review of the Eahora Tiger King, please ? P.S. And i love your reviews. Keep up the awesomeness !!
I love the idea of an electric bike, but I can imagine spare parts are going to be near impossible to get easily
Dang GTA V did a great job remaking LA. Crazy that I have never seen video but could see gta v as you were driving
Griffith Park looks the same in GTA5. This ebike is cool but looks to be slow. Can't wait for a real ebike that can replace a Ninja 500/650 twin cylinder for the same price and 5 to 10 minute recharge at the same price. Might be a long wait.
Bjy eltric Nokia 218 mph toop soeed
You should do another video with regen break😢
❤❤❤ oh my gosh
I'd like to see this same bike, same battery, with a mid drive or a dual hub motor
The regenerative braking of the I AM is essentially negligible.
Totally on point
27:09 you gave away your pass code, dude.
so? he can change, and you knowing his password doesnt mean anything.
