Thank you for watching and thank you everybody who requested this one! An extremely cool album. What do you think of Dynamo and what album do you think I should listen to next?
Jonny, you should definitely listen to Cerati's first solo album after Soda split up, named Bocanada. Probably the most experimental album he ever made, it's incredible. Keep up the great reactions!
Este álbum está a la altura de cualquier banda internacional, eso es lo q cambio al rock latino, Soda fue la banda q nos dio alta calidad de rock en nuestro idioma. Siempre Seremos Soda!!! Gracias!!!!
Hello Johnny, and thanks for your wonderful reaction!! I read that at one point U2 was performing in Mexico City and while they were rehearsing before the show the DJ was blasting this album Dynamo. U2 was struck by it's sound asked for copies. It is said that U2's album Zooropa (1993) was heavily influenced by the sound of Dynamo (1992) evidenced by the eerie similarity between the song "Yellow" (Zooropa) and "Claroscuro" (Dynamo), especially at the beginning of the song. A very analytical and succinct review on your part. You are good at this! Thanks again!
@@jonnykhatru It's interesting because Achtung baby probably influenced Soda Stereo's Dynamo. Some people find clear similarities between the song Lemon from U2 and Claroscuro from Soda. Off the récord, Zooropa is a weak album but Achtung Baby is a Masterpiece imho
Excelente review, Jonny! Creo que apreciaste muy bien el álbum y muy acertado en las influencias que mencionaste. Ahora te falta Sueño Stereo de 1995! Saludos!
Thanks for this!! as a soda fan i kinda think people is sleeping on this album and it gets really overshadowed by more popular ones like cancion animal and signos. You should upload the cancion animal reaction video!! we'd love to watch it. I recommend you any of Cerati's soloist works as well, he's a really loved musician here in Argentina and we love when foreign people appreciate him!!
Sorry I made a mistake: The name of the song from U2 is "Lemon" from the album Zooropa (1993) and not Yellow like I previously be noted. The song "Lemon" is very similar to "Claroscuro" from Dynamo Thanks again!
"Luna roja" was aired on the latin american radios. The lyrical contents delivered aspects strongly and poethically written themes concerning AIDS. Think ' bout this. Aids= "The red moon over the black sea" (An stinch extraction taken from the original lyric first verse). Dynamo didn' t receive strong support fron the label. At those days this band was signing a new record deal with BMG ARIOLA. The argentinian division of the then worldwide corporation. So, no one even bothered about promoting this new material. The band took the lead. There's a special made for tv show called: " Fax en concierto" (Fax in concert), hosted by a popular argentinian hoster named Nicolás Repetto (Italian surname), where they performed the entire album at live. Afterwards, they embarked on a full latin american leg, plus the fact this guys had their first ever experience playing some gigs in Spain. The tour was complimented by some special concerts in Miami. Unexpectedly, the whole tour ended when Mr. Cerati made up a final decision t part ways wiith the group and focus on his first solo album and his first newborn son, a fruit from his marriage with a chilean fashion model, producer and host show presenter Cecilia Amenábar. The band reunited for the recording of two new albums. One of them was a partly plugged, partly unplugged made for MTV studios location at Miami, Fla. Followed by far forthcoming tours. This time without the deflection caused by long excessive and sickening tourings. But that goes for another story chapter... There were some albums the band members were listening to at those days in the early 1990's. My Bloody Valentine and Primal Scream, although I should say Mr. Cerati, Zeta Bossio and Charly Alberti musical influences were truly vast. Not to mention the fact, that their creativity couldn't get referenced by any of those. It popped out from their minds, literally.
"Dynamo" is by far the finest Soda Stereo work, and also it´s the most unknown and underrated of their records, because Soda were a pop band, and the musical market in latin america has no space for alternative music as the english world. As other people said, you definitely should hear "Bocanada" from Gustavo Cerati (Soda Stereo's vocalist). Even considering Soda had an amazing career, "Bocanada" is just in another level. This album is by far better than any Soda Stereo work. Also is other completely different style of music. Gustavo in his masterclass form. He did magic experimenting with samples. And i have noticed that it´s an album very appreciated by english speakers.
I never liked any song from this album, and yet I think that you would like any album from Octafonic, because it has catchy stuff for the casual music watcher, but also good stuff for the music nerd.
Thanks a lot! I already know El Silencio, Caifanes is awesome, the best band of my country México, and that is their best album for me. Produced by the great Adrian Belew! I haven't heard their 4th album yet though, I should listen to it.
I'm a fan of Deftones, my favourite albums of theirs is White Pony. I like Saturday Night Wrist but prefer Diamond Eyes and Around the Fur. I would like to make a video about Deftones some day, they're a great band!

@Contrarian I already know Clics modernos well, it's a great album! Soon I'll listen to Piano Bar though, as well as more Serú Girán. 👍
@Alejandro Mobilia thanks so much, Alejandro! I absolutely will listen to Bocanada, I've heard so many great things about it.

Hi! You gotta react to them on live. Believe me, they sound way much better on stage than in the studio. Greetings from Argentina
Excelente Jonny. Muchas gracias. Sigue con más Soda please.

Gracias Martos! Aún hay muchos albumes de Soda y Cerati que necesito escuchar. Sueño Stereo por supuesto! Saludos :)
