- I just went to pick up a few fresh items but what I found was some Incredible Manger Specials on Meat of all types. So jump in the Buggy and Come along as we shop at Super Foods

I’m a widow with Two adult kids still at home I cannot spend more than $.99 a pound for meet And I have a huge garden that really does help out a lot. However, luckily for me, one of my Adult, children works at a grocery store. And their big perk is that most of the time they will not make them have the limits on food, if it’s on sale. So at Thanksgiving I’ll ended up getting 13 turkeys 10 of them I canned then they had chicken leg and thigh quarters on sale. I got 80 pounds of those at $7.29 10 pound bags. 17:37 And when they had Pork butt on sale for $.89 a pound. I got 80 pounds of that and canned them all now we have probably a year’s worth of meat I also took all the bones and made stock Canned that too. in cans ready to go at any time I canned so much I have actually ran out of cans this year which saves me a lot of money.oh and the jar lids, I got from four jars on their Black Friday sale. 800 I think it was like 50% off. That’s how we’re getting by. Buying in bulk does help us out a lot. We have a mess for 2weeks and we eat for a year.
A fellow meat canner! I don’t have unlimited access to the sale items but I can’t physically hold out to can much at a time anyhow. Leg quarters are one of my favorite things to do and I just finished canning 20 lbs of those. If I had more storage space, I’d love to can more.
Great job on canning so much meat and making your broth. I'm glad you were able to get some good prices thru your son's work at the grocery store to help with your budget. You sound like a wonderful and very wise Mom, working and planning ahead for your family and having nutritious food on the table. I'm looking forward to the fresh garden foods too. Hopefully, you've gotten a little rest during the winter months.
I have switched to buying Romaine instead of iceberg lettuce. It lasts so much longer

😊 I happened to get a markdown pack of pork ribs on Monday. We really enjoyed them . I can't believe how much y'alls bell pepper price is they are 69 cents each here for regular green bell pepper.

You can put a tablespoon or so of soft cat food on top of the hard food for a treat. That's what I do for my cats and dogs and they love it. It makes the more expensive soft food last longer.
Man those meat prices are high there too, except pork, and we don’t eat pork. The stew meat I bought was high too. I try to buy chuck but they are too fatty. Years ago they were more lean. I remember getting them for .59/ lb many many years ago, and I would cut it myself and freeze. I don’t buy reduced chicken as I never trust it and afraid it has gone bad, or smells off when you open it. We always have sales here on chicken, and can get it pretty cheap. The beef is crazy. We eat a lot of fish here, I guess because we are close to the ocean. I like grouper. My favorite. I enjoyed your trip to Super Foods. Blessings to all…...
Thank you for the informative video trip. So pleased you were able to find bargains! In my area of Eastern Pennsylvania grocery prices are rising each week. It’s hard to shop this last part of the month but I still remain optimistic. I cook from scratch as much as possible and try to pick organic when affordable. I like the tip to shop early. Hey Mr Tom nice little haul good price on the Bananas and the Meat on the Manager special I went this morning pickup a few things on the digital grocery coupons. Eggs large 18 count 2.59 , 3 pound bag Onions 1.29 . Ground Beef 2.99 pound 73/27 pickup 5 pounds but somethings where crazy Bananas .65 per pound pass and green onions 2 pak 1.49 pass Stay Safe Take Care !!

Eggs were 50 cents a dozen at Aldi FOR YEARS... now they're going back up again to almost $3 a dozen

Mr Tom seems to have ideal town/location for his retirement years. Super Foods is as good as major grocery store gets. Really nice slower paced neighborhood.

I go to the grocery twice a month and I go at 6am when they open the door. No crowds of sick people and the shelves are full. We eat an animal based ketovore diet. This makes grocery shopping very quick as I only need to hit the meat and dairy case and grab a few low carb veggies to go with. Plus you get the pick of the overnight mark downs.
Mr.Tom, another fun video. Your salad fixings look so yummy. I'm looking for that cube ham next time I go grocery shopping. I really like peas and beans in my salad too. You were very wise and thoughtful about pointing out good protein sources, other than meat for a good, healthy meal.
Love your Super Foods store and how friendly the people and employees are. I can tell the employees take a lot of pride in their store and enjoy working there. It shows too in how clean and organized the store is. One thing I noticed too, is they had no loud music playing that can be so distracting. I like a peaceful environment while I'm shopping and comparing prices. Mr.Tom, I do the same, when i come in from shopping, i always bring a special treat or food for my kitties. They really do look forward to it and it's fun seeing how happy it makes them.
I've not taken mine shopping yet, but would like to do that sometime in the future. Have a wonderful weekend.

My local grocery charged $2.59 a dozen last week, this week it jumped to $3.99. It's the corporate greed at work. They know we'll pay whatever if we want it. It's not a want but a need because we need the protein. What are we going to do about it? God bless you for this informative shopping trip.❤
There are so many layers involved in the food industry, it’s hard to know who’s to blame.
They raised eggs here 4 weeks in a row until we got back to the greed price of $5.29 for 18.
I love shopping with you. I always get a laugh out of it. It reminds me of my mom with anywhere from 3 to 5 kids. We never touched anything on the racks at the check out nopeeeeee

1 flat of farm eggs $12
1 pd butter $6.99
1 brick cheese (400g) $5.99
1 pd fresh haddock $8.00
Yogurt (650g) $5.99
I have started making my own yogurt and it’s much cheaper. It works out to $1.60 for the same amount.
We also just bought a side of pork (108 pounds). It worked out to $2.36/pd cut and wrapped.

I disagree. I often buy it at Walmart and it's just regular ground beef, I can't see or taste a difference
I bought eggs today at our local grocery here in norther Michigan. They were $1.69 dozen and the brand was "That's Smart". There were other brands and they were priced from a little bit more to a lot more. I don't get why there's such a big difference in price. I remember not too long ago Wallyworld and Aldi's had a milk war going on and milk was only about $1 a gallon and eggs were under a dollar a dozen. You could get a dozen eggs and a gallon of milk and get change back from $2. Probably not going to see that happen again! God bless.

Pork seems to be in plentiful supply these days, but not chickens. A Tysons packing plant near us is closing next month. They can't get enough chickens delivered to them because the suppliers can't afford to pay for chicken feed. My nephew works for Tysons and loves his job. He makes good money but must now go find work elsewhere.
I googled ❤ most Walmart, stock produce on Mondays, best is to get mornings to afternoons, Mondays and Tuesdays 🌄 Wednesdays,.. clearances.
