I made Chex mix when I got that kind of cereal. Especially around the holidays when the grocery stores give away the free seasoning packets to make it 😊 When life gives you lemons you make lemonade so if life gives you corn biscuits you should make chex mix 😋😂
We have something similar in Georgia that my mother in law goes too, the sad thing is that in a few years, I'll be old enough lol. Thanks for sharing and hope you have a blessed weekend my friend.
Those programs really help least you can supplement what you already have . Oh goodness your going to be a senior . I still at times forget to ask for the senior discounts etc .Have a wonderful weekend
Our state food bank has food pantries at various schools & churches 2x per month. At various times during the year, they have fresh produce, besides potatoes, onions & cabbage. It helps to extend the SNAP allowance!! I thonk it is blended into the CSF ( Commodities for Seniors Program) , since we have some of those same brands as you do!
Texas doesn't offer anything like this I know Louisiana does. Congrats girl. They had the best cheese ever, you can use it for everything cassaroles. That can meat is expensive in the stores. You go girl
Texas does offer this same program for seniors. It's for 60 and older and they have income guidelines. Texas also has a program called HOPE, it's for 55 and older and they give you 15 to 20lbs of food a month. I live in Tx and googled it because I couldn't believe that Tx did not also have this program.
Started asking ?s recently after seeing numerous neighbors receive boxes monthly. This is a low income federal program for senior citizens. Surplus, not food bank. You got the same spaghetti, peanut butter.
yes its a federal program once a month for seniors . Food banks There is no age limit , with this program you have to be 60 years old or over . Thanks for watching
@@Sheribail3 I just found out about the program and will be signing up next week. I do not drive. but was told my son in law who lives up the street can pick up the monthly box after I get registered This may vary depending on location.
So good that we have programs like this one. As a senior on fixed income, I am grateful that we have such services.
yes its a blessingfor us seniors , I don know how we could survive with out the services

Can anyone tell me what to do with the canned potatoes so they don't taste like canned potatoes?? That one always frustrates me😮😢
haha Yea for real , I am going to try something with them in a day or so will post a video and maybe well find a solution
Fry them up like hash browns with some onion and peppers if you like them
Do you have an air fryer? I heard they come out good and crispy
I wash them very well with cold water in a colander. Then fry them up with some butter or oil and some spices. Then they taste normal
You use BBQ sauce the different canned meats for sandwiches. It is good.
I will try that, I like BBQ sauce.

Do they deliver, if you don't have a car?
Each area is different but what I hear is that some do delivery , you would just need to check with feeding america or your department of aging
