GREAT!!!! I so wish I had the extra length on my 7x10, to be able to do this, with the mods that I have done, I have gained an extra 2 inches, so basically, my lathe is now a 7 x 12.. but still not long enough to pull this clever mod / addition off on my little guy... Nice work, too!!!! I used to have the old 8 inch bed extension angle looking plate, that one pins and drill & taps on to the end of the existing bed... no issues doing that, and with out any tension on the unit, it is great for sliding the tail stock out of the way on to it, but if you were putting any pressure on the tail stock, via drilling operations, the factory casting bed would flex ,and cause issues.. I thought maybe it was the metric hardware that came with it.. nope, just the super high end high ductile cast iron, ( I say that jokingly, lol)... I may now have to just break down and buy that 18 or 20 inch long up-grade bed, as I want to build one of these capstan turret tail stocks so bad now after seeing yours, that I can taste it... Very well done, I like seeing cool stuff like this, and hardly nothing gets me excited anymore, but this is really cool!!! Dru
great work bazmak, i follow your work hmem thanks for taking the time to document this for everyone

Nice job fellow craftsman.

A spring loaded Paul and 6 machined location slots.I have some detail images i can send you if you email me barrymidgley2@bigpond
Wow what a great bit of engineering.
Nicely done sir!
Do you have plans for this you're willing to share?
No Drgs but I have put a full build description on HMEM web forum under bazmak .If you email me I will help further. barrymidgley2@bigpond.com
Thank you Greg
