Get the album “Lovin Spoonful Greatest Hits” and have a good listen. “Welcome Back” is not on the album, but “Do You Believe in Magic” “Did You Ever Have to Make Up Your Mind💟” John Sebastian & the Spoonful walked a lot of us “Older Folks”(lol) out of the late 60’s and through the 70’s. In my humble opinion, there will never be a better generation of music.🎼☯️
Great minds, I ❤ that line too! Cool Cat lookin' for a kitty... late 60's & 70's had a great vibe! I could have easily stayed in the 70's. I've been blessed, raised on great, timeless & creative music 🎶 So happy I know of a different time & place, you can't explain it you had to live it! I'm happy you're a early bird. I look forward to you in the mornin'! ❤ ☮✌
LOL! Of all the songs, this is the last one I'd have expected this AM, as the snow flies past my window. This song is summer, and it's always been a favorite.
It's been a while since I've listened to the Loving Spoonful. The only other song from them I remember is Welcome Back, which was the theme song for the sitcom Welcome Back, Kotter in the seventies.
John Sebastian is the singer. Loving spoonful also did 'Do You Believe in Magic' and John had a hit with the theme song for the TV show 'Welcome Back Kotter'.That's all I know about him and the group Lovin' Spoonful.
Lovin' Spoonful was a fantastic band. For a different, more ethereal groove from them, ( which I get a feeling you'll really dig..) check out, "Coconut Grove ". It's got a timeless, magical feel to it.
I love that you keep going back to these earlier days of Rock. Fun times to watch. I'm too young to have been there but I like to think about how much fun musicians were having back then. Great job as usual. Thanks

Lovin' Spoonful were in my favorite Woody Allen movie "What's Up Tiger Lily". Woody took a real Japanese spy movie and dubbed in his own script where the hero spy is named Phil Moskowitz. HYSTERICAL flick.
Great Reaction as Always!! As others requested, "Do You Believe in Magic"!! Great Song as well!! John Sebastian is the singer and Keyboardist. OBTW!! HE Also wrote And Sang the Welcome Back Kotter Theme for the 70s Sitcom of the Same Name!! Thanks Again!! Definitely enjoyed This!!
Great band with so many cool tunes. Ya might wanna check out Rain On The Roof, Do You Believe In Magic, Daydream or my fave of theirs Coconut Grove, which is soooo laid back!
OOOOHHH, you mentioned one of my favorite songs; Summer Madness by Jazzy Jeff and Fresh Prince. "Adjust the Bass and let the Alpine Blast" Perfectly describes some of my summers as a teen cruising in an Oldsmobile '98 Regency full of friends. Best Times. (LL Cool J's "Cars with the Boomin System" give me that same feel; another fave). Like this song too, 60's/70's music is fantastic yet it couldn't be more different! LOL!!
I liked your reaction to this song. Makes me wonder how many songs you actually know. Not just by this group, but really good songs all together. And let me tell you, this was just a drop in the bucket. I was born in 1966, and this song was in constant rotation growing up. (K-EARTH 101, L. Good old song. The Doors' "Light My Fire" (best old classic-rock song ever) was same year, please react to that one (the studio version) when you can? Thx for the great music/reactions!

John Sebastian had some grooves back in the day! I always loved this band! DARLING BE HOME SOON is worth a listen as well.both by Lovin Spoonful and Joe Cocker!
Great song. John Sebastion, the lead singer went solo in the 70's and was asked to write a theme song for a tv show. "Welcome Back" for Welcome Back Kotter.
The Lovin' Spoonful had many great hits. Interesting note, the guitar player was a major asshole. He gave up his dealer to keep from getting deported back to Canada.
I've heard this going all the way back to the 60's, but it's the first time I've seen the Lovin Spoonful players. That why I like the videos. You can see the musicians who play it and made it. Thanks for playing this one.

in the 70s there was a program tha 'bused' city kids to the upstate ny country and the commercial for it was this song. also john wrote and sang the 'welcome back kotter' theme
This reminds me of draggin' the strip on a hot summer night when I was a kid in the 60's 'till about 1 a.m.. Every radio on the strip tuned to the same station and turned up loud.
