Another tip, dont hesitate or be afraid. hits hurt way more when you are afraid
Patrick Guerra thanks man i want to play but i am scared! 😀
No no you know what hurts worse having a line that can't block.
Ha ha ha Memes lol true but it’s true you if you’re scared your nerves weaken causing you to prolly break a bone for a weak hit
Patrick Guerra hits are fun
Patrick Guerra facts...
1. Don't play scared
2. Be aware of who's around you
NOLO I saw you on Riley Cooper video
Also don’t think. You should know what to do. Most plays last only six seconds, from my experience.
Melvin Plays Gaming and Airsoft I have a question I’m 6ft 178lbs and a freshman in high school and I have no experience in football and a lot of people tell me I should be on the team well it be to late if join as a sophomore with no game experience at all?
Brian Rivera It’s up to you to decide. If you play hard and give 100% effort then coaches will notice you. It’s not the size of the player that matters it’s the size of his heart. It doesn’t matter which year you join. If you show that you wanna be coached, then coaches will want you to play.
I’m a sophomore and I’m playing my second year of experience ever in the game.
a kids mom got mad for us running a mile every practice now we do 2
GoDz Rewind That sucks dude
GoDz Rewind lmao. One time some big backup lineman wasn't paying attention and had to run around the foeld 8 times. That coach got fired cause his mom complained
GoDz Rewind sameeeee except they made us do 2 at the start and 2 at the end (it was soooo much fun tackling her kid😏)
Fucking moms
Sounds like something my coaches would do 😂
Freshman year I had no idea what I was doing, I went straight in, lined up at a random line (Ended up being running back) and I ended up starting on all special teams and I was second string offense and defense
literally me but Im 3rd string O and D
Nice im a frehman this year to
I’m freshman rn playing and never have played before its my 2nd day practicing tmr is my third and I have legit no clue what to do what plays there are etc any help?
Reef Coral Bru same like I play football but never for like an actual team is it gonna be hard to learn the plays ?
@@cj2wavy631 I'm new too . U will learn them eventually. But u need to have a way to remember the plays

There's a backup on my team that has all the gear that was ever created.
Jake Heitker lol. I can't stand those people. They usually talk the most shit

Is he rich?
The only gear I have is a compression shirt and gloves😂
That’s me
Don't overdo your swag is soooo important! Seriously.
ikr.
Dadahae Ieada yea. I hate when people have the best gear and aren't even good. I have lots of gear that is top notch, but I actually start and use it. #DBnation !!!!!
CVSR DBs = Style Police ;)

CVSR Nah, you suck!
1. Don't be scared of getting hurt
2. Always play until you hear a whistle not when you think they're down or you think the play is over if you don't hear a whistle keep going
3: give em hell
I will@@Imjustaduckman
Idk if anyone is still watching this vid but if you really love the sport never give up on it unless you HAVE to. I started playing in 8th grade rec league all the way up until 11th grade. I was pretty tall for those years but ended up being a 6'1ish 205lb starting right tackle 12th grade.I was always undersized and not strong fr but worked my way to a starter through hard work and my aggressiveness. The importance for that was not being afraid to hit, and make sure you can hit someone HARD if you need to. Then I got lazy and quit for no reason fr and threw 4 1/2 years of my life away. Basically no matter how bs the coaches are or the summer work is, don't quit playing for selfish reasons. I promise that you'll miss the memories and people you've grown around.
thanks man as someone who just got into the sport this really helps my confidence bc im in 9th and really wanna play
im in 9th grade but im only 5'2 man
Thanks Im started next Monday Im a basketball player I watch basketball i talk about basketball I don't know the sport but my mom and stepdad put me in man but I know the coaches will be hard on me I'm starting 8th grade this year and man I know this might be hard I just wanna make it through to be honest
@@chauncy18865'2 is WILD
Bro really quit for no reason😂😂
Also learn basics: Tackling, Blocking, Throw and Catch and covering. First of all you should be able to do everything as a versitile player and also you can find hidden talents
Basically Taysom Hill
Exactly. Coaches will switch up positions if you are new
@@Thestoryinthesounds unless you are a big man, then you’re a lineman
Who else hates the people on your football team that think your cool because they have all the accessories but they are trash
Me they trying to act all cool but can't take a hit.
Crazy Hawk kid on my team got gold cams but he so trash he says he's the best but he can't do a 3 point 😂
It's Yaritza i have friends that trash on me cause I don't have great ball skills but I'm used in almost every shotgun and I form play as fullback, I'm good at what I do and u just do what u need to do not critisize people who are doin fine
It's Yaritza it's the opposite for me, I am so big people expect me to be good even though I have never played. I constantly get questions about how much I lift, how much I weigh, and how tall I am. It is pretty annoying.
PrivateDerick That's basketball DA
Last game I drove some kid into his own quarteback and made both of them fall.
Andy MRBIGDICK lmao that sounds entertaining to watch. I seen a kid drill his own rb, it's the dumbest thing ever but pretty funny
Kit McIntosh Lmao
Kit McIntosh What position do you play?
I play d end and there was a receiver running up the feild two of my teammates we're trying to tackle him I hit both of them at the same time
raider nation696969 I’ve done this before but caused a fumble
Everything this guy is saying is true. When I first started football at 8, I got mad for them not putting at receiver. The coaches are going to try to put you at a position the fits best for you. And take baths with seasalt water, it helps a lot.
This year is my first time playing tackle football, I’m starting to fall in love with the sport already and gaining more field confidence
I’ve only started playing football this year but my biggest tip is don’t be afraid. If you hesitate or stop for a moment, especially on the line, you’ll loose every matchup. Focus on your technique and the snap count, not whose’s lined up in front of you!
I learned Football by Madden lol

6’2” 315 pounds (muscle fat I’m not a balloon) and I’m doing football this upcoming season despite not playing since elementary. I’m going to be a junior and have been a Track discus and shotputter thrower for years. Been on a football binge to learn what I need to know, this was a super helpful video among others.
well. i assume now your in college, I'm freshman rn and wanna do football sophmore year, but im FAT, 170 lbs at 5'8 - so once I loose the weight I might start, I alr signed up for track too, do you have any overall recomendations for just HS athletics or just go with the flow type stuff?
@@ironicrbx My main recommendation would just to focus on having fun above all else! Play sports you genuinely want to play and if you don’t like it don’t be afraid to just walk away. My dad wanted me to play football back in Highschool so I pressured myself into doing it and had an awful time for two seasons. On the fitness side of things however, remember to do your cardio! It sucks to do but being able to be light on your feet and have a high endurance is critical to most team sports. That and practice sucks less if you’re in good shape; and when it comes to body weight focus less on that and more on your endurance like I mentioned earlier. I was/still am a big dude (weighing 250 now) but I can still knock out an 8 minute mile. In football especially having weight is not a bad thing, it gives you more stopping force and power. But yeah anyways! Just have a good time and make good memories. Highschool goes by much too fast, enjoy it while you can
Edit: also if you’re throwing in track remember to not just train your upper body! Momentum throws like slide throws and spins use a lot of leg power and the stronger your legs the farther you can throw
@@superIBM1231 Thank you bro, Appreciate that all, Enjoy life.
6’2 145 about to go into freshman year. I’m a tight end and defensive end (defensive end in my defensive scheme includes dropping me into coverage since I’m a great pass protector)
How do you juggle multiple things academically and otherwise? I do choir, theater, football, I’m trying to be an academic weapon. How did you do in that factor?
ur fat? im 190 at 5'8 skill issue@@ironicrbx
The more you’re confident, the less hard it is mentaly and physically.
Honestly lol i figured that out playing for a few weeks i was "bro this trying asf" but i would think to myself "man you gotta push through it dont even worry about it pain is temporary but quieting last forever" and honestly it helps so much to take your mind off the pain.... until i get home 😂
Receiver? Quarterback? When I first started playing football in peewee I wanted to be a linebacker an old lineman a D lineman, something that hurt people I don't know if something is wrong with me probably but I enjoy tackling and hurting people
SOARERS Ice Wolf That's whats D line does be hella aggressive and FUCK up people you'll be good
SOARERS Ice Wolf i love that too
SOARERS Ice Wolf lol same
Always wanted to be linebacker
yeah, something's really messed up with you if you feel proud of causing pain and grief to another player
I’m a freshman and I joined the team a bit late and I don’t even really like football, I’m just doing it to have the experience of being a part of a team and also to get more in shape, I really don’t enjoy watching the sport and I don’t have enough time to do stuff when I get home. I have loads of home work and not that much free time so I don’t want to “waste” it on watching football games but at the same time I hate embarrassing
myself because I have no idea what to do.
Honestly you don’t need to watch the game to enjoy it. But I will guess if you really get into the sport you’ll naturally start watching it. If you’re coaches are doing a good you won’t need to watch
@Verdestar227 I wouldn't say there is even such a thing as too much, as long as you aren't going around bragging about all your fancy gear you're fine
I love and agree with this video, he did forget something, unless i missed it, that is DO NOT SKIP PRACTICE this happened to me, I skipped like 5 practices, and I got benched more than necessary...
did you skip 5 in a row or 5 over the course of a few weeks
@@GabrielRodriguez-lt9dy dont matter even if you skip 1 my coach will bench you
2:00 the funny thing is that I wanted to play linebacker but i had to play wide receiver
P
Keenan Johnson looks are about preference
Yo I'm a linebacker and if you want to be one prepare for big hits and getting the ball carrier because if you don't the whole team and coach will be mad
I wanted to be a wide receiver but I got put as a z back. I never knew what the hell that position was but now that I've played as a z back for a while I'm really good at it and I think its it's fun.
I play lilb
People need to stop griping about their positions and when they don't start. That is up to the player. Loving your videos good job.
When I first played football I knew I wanted to play TE and worked my ass off to play it. Love it with all my heart
Garrett Steven what kind of training did U do?
I'm a girl in highschool class of 2022, and I wanna play football. I managed football my sophmore year, and my love for it grew from there. I had loved watching the sport beforehand but becoming a manager and watching the practices and process made me more immersed than ever I fell in love with the game and team. I'm determined to ready myself not just physically but mentally understanding the game by book.

HailzGaming you need your weight up, however idk what state you are in but I'm down south in Florida so I need my weight up
6ft 215lbs, I'm am still not as big as what I should be
HailzGaming yeah I plan on playing again. I'm about 6ft and 230 but I'll be working out until my season starts.
Yeah you guys weigh a lot, Im down here in Canada. Im very light but someone Im getting good hits and tackles I guess because Im taller then everyone. For highschool TDSB we are the best in our division. So happy :)
During my first year I tried out for receiver and corner since I wasn’t all that big... ended up playing full and inside backer and loved it way more than receiver
I play DE I was backup last year as a freshman on my JV team but now starting on my JV team at DE possibly getting moved to varsity. My only problem was last year and a lot of people have this, I feared about getting blind sided by a running back or a pulling guard during a play, so a tip is just stay slow, if you catch a last second glimpse before getting hit set your feet and lean towards the side they’re about to hit you at.
@X35022 yessir
I left a comment on a video a while ago similar to this one talking about how I'd be a wr like I wanted and of I got put on defense I'd quit. It's my first year ever trying football. Next thing you know I get put on defense. First week of defensive back, a halfback (canadian football position, between linebackers and corners, watches the fly backs and much more). I hated it. But I stuck with it. It's been 1 ½ months since then, and I feel like I'm loving halfback and I'm good too. Starter halfback, and I'm now going to get put on safety next season when the starter safety graduates. I have no interest in recieving anymore. Defense all the way.
I started playing in O-Line and had my first training with gear last week. Im scared of doing mistakes cause I dont want to stand there like an idiot..
But I still got problems doing the 3 Point Stance and also with keeping my body low and my head straight.
I am turning it to the side by reflex.. I absolutely hate it when I do such simple mistakes, even when this was my first real training ever in Football.
Confidence is key. When I started playing i was scared but I grew confidence when I was used in most games
Thanks for the tips ready for football this summer :)

I’m a kicker and whenever Oklahoma Drill starts that’s when we decide to go kick with the punters
Tips for players fresh in highschool: don’t worry if you don’t get much playing time for your freshman and sophomore year. Learn under the older varsity guys so by the time sophomore and junior year comes around you’ll be better than compared to getting tons of playing time but not learning anything. Get tons of reps in practice but don’t stress over not being able to play in a game until the coaches know you’re ready.
i’m a 6th grade girl trying out for football 🏈 next year, gotta admit, the sport can be very hard for those that never seen it. but having a good mindset and never giving up definitely helps out a lot. watch videos for skills, but for the sport, remember that it’s all in the mindset. maybe you can’t do it? yet. you can do it *soon*
Think I’ll be fine lol? Im going in as a freshman and really wanna play. Im really small but I know I got potential in 5’3 100 lb rn and I know my stuff when it comes to schemes and reading coverages I jus gotta bulk up a little this summer and get taller I’m so pumped
@@parkerknoche2709 You’ll be fine, just work hard and never give up. Goes for every thing in life, I’m sure you will be okay. Just pay attention and make sure to know your stuff, which I’m sure you do. I’m also like 100lb but if you want to bulk, eat foods with more calories, but not necessarily junk food. It’s not okay to eat it everyday, but okay at some point. Eat like foods that are rich in protein and fat. Otherwise, you’re all good.
@X35022 i decided to do powderpuff flag football in hs instead. but this year im in wrestling rn!
About to finish my first year of football as a freshman and i don't get why parents and people complain about not playing. You work hard, learn the sport and earn your play time.
My coach has me and this one kid at MLB it's my first year of actually playing and my feeder highschool already came to talk to us 2. I think I've gotten to a veteran point for Middle School so fast because our coach tells us things like this
At first I didn't know what Noseguard/tackle or left Tackle was, but I worked on them and I over time really liked them, and somehow on my first ever season as Noseguard on the D line I got a pick.
thanks this helps, I'm going into middle school football as a line man and had no idea what i was going to have to do, this helped take some stress off my shoulders.

In 6th grade, I wanted to be a receiver. I got put on the line. Didn’t start any games. 7th, came in as a center for 90% of the year. 8th, started every game but one (injury) played right tackle, backup center, and long snapper. This year: most likely going to start at center. Probably one of the best lineman on the starting line.
Didn’t know that Bernie Sanders plays football
play long snapper in HS and College and you can be a NFL player lmao
For my first year the roster was pretty thin, so I had a good idea of my position. I had previously played soccer, so I just brought my old soccer cleats and used those for practice.

when I first started playing football I wanted to be a running back and hated being a linesman but now I'm older and the best thing about about lineman is they can hit every play
I suck in the weight room lmao
me too lol
Merle Dixon me too
Merle Dixon kid in my team does the most weight well he still sucks and is 3rd from a starter linemen
I broke my wrist so I been hitting that bike hard
Don't worry about it man. I was right there with you freshman year. Hit that weight room every day after school even when no one else is in there with you. Do weight that you know you can do and have proper technique. Eat right and you're gonna be helping yourself as well as your team. Never stop. NEVER STOP.
Thank you so much!!! I'm starting football this year so this was really helpful for me
U mind giving me tips please I wanna start playing football but never played it and next year I want to for fresh men year
Aye, I would rather play a person with swag then a person that looks homeless.
I bet the "homeless" is better at football.
Guess Who God bless you
thats the whole point dummy
The guy with the "swag" (what is this, 2007?) is probably a douchebag that thinks he's good but is actually one of the worst on the team
A.L Highlightz the guy with swag is a rich white kid lol plus zero skill
I’m in seventh grade rn. In 8th grade my parents are finally going to let my play football. I have been asking them since 5th grade. I so happy and excited!!!!
I’m a 2 year little league football player and these videos helped me thx lineman football
i’m 16 and have always wanted to play football but my mom wouldn’t let me as she was scared of me getting concussion. i think i have convinced her to let me but i am going to be a junior next season and i was wondering if that’s too late to start
Bro my mom said the same thing, the difference is I’m 17 and I’m playing my first college year as a DB (position kinda between cornerback and linebacker I’m Canadian). My advice to you is it’s never too late who cares about what comp you’re stacked against, you get what you give so give it your all when you’re practicing and you’ll get that spot right back.
@@Speello gl with the league 🙏
I have the same situation
i play linebacker and running back but sometimes they play me at offensive line and im 5'5 140lbs
Rockerblue Lee i play for highschool
Trenton Jarman 5'5" 140lbs *_LINEBACKER_* ? Damn, how big are the DBs?
Trenton Jarman Bet you have great technique man!
How old are you? An average high school line backer is 6 ft + and 200+, there are exceptions though
slopcrusher it's not about your size it's your skill
Great content Sir I am a HS Football Coach also and I agrees with the tips! Keep up the good work....
Coach James Chaney FOOTBALL, RECRUITING & LIFE I have a question to ask if your a coach, I’m a 6ft and 220 junior. What position would be for me? Im thinking of being a linebacker, linemen, or defensive end. I want your opinion.
@@ohanavibes7694 Your position would totally depend on your skill set...speed, agility, athleticism...it's hard to tell if I've never seen you move around. Fair?
Do you have any tips for me? I’m 14 and never played football in my life. I wanna join my highschool football team but I’m only 5’3 and 114 pounds.
Not sure if I should be here, but first game is in 2 days and I’m in marching band. So I have to know some stuff so I play at the right time. I know nothing right now.
Good advice man, I’ve played 9 years, I’m going to be sending this video to my little brother!
Ima go into Flag Football and Im 14 5’10 and 130 pounds what position would they put me in?
I'm moving schools from a really shitty school, to IMG Academy that's a really good and expansive school... They practice more in a week than my old school in a whole season... I'm not even sure I'll be able to make it on the team... Then I feel I can because my old coach suggested it and is paying for it, so I know he has faith but.... idk....
Ayee ee Dude go for it! thats a badass ass school
Ayee ee goodluck. I would give anything to play at img.
Ayee ee what position u play ??
CVSR I'm mainly a running back but at my old school I would go between rb and wr but I'll play either position
Well starters were posted today! I got starting RB!
I'm a sophmore and looking to get into football next year but I don't have any prior experience, is it too late for me? I'm athletic but not super built and don't have much knowledge.
Nah you’re good join!
@@Footballrs ima freshman and don’t know a lot of stuff about football do you think I’m got a shot
This was my first year playing high school football with no prior experience and I made Qb2 starting Wr and corner
I played football in the streets but now I'm playing on a team hopefully I learn a lot during the season
Thx for the tips I'm in 8th grade and this is my first year
PaCE_Girm same buhhh I’m in 7th grade
