Listening to this song on my way home from a 14 hour work day in a factory. It hit home.
I lost my shit and starting bawling.

I hope you've got good people you can talk to. It's good to get those feelings out. Manchester Orchestra's music can be cleansing for the soul, for sure. I come back to this album whenever my emotions get stuck. Works every time, especially this live version.

The first time I heard them, I loved them, but I thought this song was a "breakup" song. The more I listened, the more I realized,
they were telling a much bigger story. " ... A black mile to the surface -- I don't wanna be here any more - it all tastes like poison" "Forty miles out of east Illinois for that old man's heart attack", "You and me we're a day dream - so lose your faith in me" - this is
one of the most HEART BREAKING songs I've ever heard.

This whole album is actually extremely intertwined and tells many stories from different points of view if you really dig in deep. A few really good synopsis online that can explain much better than me.

This song is gut wrenching enough...
...then you see that emotion on his face as he re-lives every moment and destroys your soul with every stinging honest word. You can see the pain it promotes as he sings. If he does that for each audience every week, it will destroy him. Now that is craft perfectionism, if it was a film , he would be credited as one of the greatest method actors of his generation. Awe inspiring and incredibly moving. I certainly felt a strong connection to him , his music, and his words.

This song kills me, but it's so beautiful. I left my fiance that I'd been with for nearly 3 years just a couple months ago. She changed and things got so bad. One of the hardest things I've ever done in my life is accepting that the person I fell in love with wasn't there anymore. Nothing hurts like falling out of love.

Love is a 2 way. It may have been a feeling of love for you. Not for her though. The word love is misused. Because, Love. It's unanimous . Its twin flames and it is very rare. You don't fall out of Love. I wish it were possible.

TimOD43 it's been a couple years since we actually found her father passed away(heart attack). Its been Rocky between us over the years. Recently we have gotten really close and it's been going great. Talks of a family and a future. I'm looking at engagement rings... Then I acted like an idiot out of anger and she left. All it takes is seconds to wipe away years. It's so hard to swallow. Hang in there brother. Get the help you need. I saw a to therapist yesterday and it was nice to let some shit out.

So much love in these comments. This band has been following and helping me out through rough times.
Love of my life and I broke up after a year of living together. Miss her like crazy.
Doing everything right these days, just trying to become better. Gotta make it count, you know what I mean?
We gotta move forward and be the best version of ourselves. Things have got to get better.
Love you all and I hope things are turning out well.

    ❤ Lyrics:
    Couldn't really love you anymore
    You've become my ceiling
    I don't think I love you anymore
    That gold mine changed you
You don't have to hold me anymore
    Our cave's collapsing
I don't wanna be me anymore
    My old man told me
You don't open your eyes for a while
You just breathe that moment down.
Forty miles out of East Illinois of my old man's Heart attack
    I believed you were crazy
    You believed you loved me
I don't wanna bark here anymore
    Black hills, the colly
    Wasn't really dangerous for us
    We just catch you coughing
What the hell are we gonna do?
A black mile to the surface
I don't wanna be here anymore
    It all tastes like poison
Can't open your eyes for a while
You just breathe that moment down
    Forty hours out of Homestake
And I'm trying to translate you again
    I believed you were crazy
    You believed you loved me
You and me, we're a daydream
So lose your faith in me
Can't open your eyes for a while
You just beat that moment down
You can't open your eyes for a while
    You just breathe
    I believed you were crazy
    You believed you loved me
You and me, we're a daydream
So lose your faith in me
    Lose your faith in me
So lose your faith in me
So lose your faith in me
