I just discovered his music a few days ago and I can't get his songs out of my mind.. his music is transformative, healing, and so raw. I've never really experienced music just like his. So original!
Marina, i have only in the last year found this track myself and my partner, the break and the uptempo beat dropping is fucking genius and I have to say that anyone who considers themselves to be a musician or just a music fan and doesn't rate this is a fraud
only his new albums dont get enough credit because they are very different from his folk background with India Bourne and Co....but the Defeat from Noonday ALlbum is a gem as its nothing like he has ever produced. Then you have the current album where you see more of the defeat but tones it down a bit as Crowhurst meme is much like the defeat and my favorite far out. During the Pandemic i bought a guitar because I love Bens music and here I am as a guitarist. Enjoy this artist Albums as all are gems.
Check out Hozier 'To Be Alone', Ryan Montbleau 'Ships in the Night', Matt Duke 'I Got Atrophy on the Brain' @WTMD & , Sean Hoots 'Watch Your Mouth'. I hope you find some things you can vibe with. Love their music.
Damn !! A decade ?! What happened ? ... if you dont mind me asking, of course. Ive been going thru it myself, 2 months in ... will this shit ever end ??!!! Stay strong, bro.
"Time is a great healer", said by people that have never felt heartbreak. 20 odd years, new loves, only just experiencing days when she is not in my head.
You're certainly not alone , I'm sorry you've been having that internal feeling.. ... the worst for was discovering Ben with that person back in 2012, took until 2020 until I felt better. And it was thanks to Ben, yet again, discovering him with her , then being able to feel at peace by him yet again... full circle.. you'll feel better soon xx I promise
Sorry to hear you are struggling... Ben and a band called Frightened Rabbit are the two things that get me through difficult times... "And tomorrow will always come And tomorrow may well bring the sun"

One of only a few musicians who can be categorised at genius level that are currently with us...There's not too many either...This guy will stand the test of time and history will be kind to him unlike the drivel like Styles,Sheeran,Westlife etc etc and other Canon fodder the musically uneducated are force fed by money making media driven record executives and the like..
Sums up in one song exactly the emotions of a shit ending to a very important relationship. The words and music fits almost perfectly to how you feel in the moments of dispare
at the end of the song the way he puts his hands in his face... Thats ben howard: someone who is 100% himself throught pain sadness or hapiness and for himto give is full in a song he must live throught the emotion of the song. This is why he never king ever kingdom anymore, thats not him anymore
There's no words to do this song justice. I new nothing of this guy until I went to a mumford and sons gig. And this song the passion and love real music
Such an amazing artis,t tortured by his success. The difference between his first and album are remarkable and massive. He stepped away from the spotlight and in doing so produced absolute raw emotional magic. Not pandering to the populus and folding to the tecord company his given us the best of what he can be as an artist. ❤
The album (which this song is on)I forgot where we were is pure genuis. The ones that followed were different and didn’t grab be quite as much. But bens on a journey and he will explore. The fear off his previous album is a great song and wonderful video
Hello Alfie! Okay to share this? Video's still playing, was the format that grabbed me, would share in a Culture, Music & Art page and with your permission on my personal twitter and facebook.
Annoys me so much . Its nice they comnect and feel it though , its important but annoys me at times haha, even worse when gigs are on and they sing along so loud ruins it.. then again its probably the feels they feel while they're actually there.. but fuck , let us listen to Ben's screams without the interference lol ❤
@@tizz.89oh yes 100 percent agreed there’s a time and a place to do that . Loved his first album, but he hasn't followed it up with anything near as good., since. Happens all the time. The first great albums usually have some songs that are years old. When a new album is due they have to work on a clean slate. That's where new albums are normally not as good. The Burgh Island EP is amazing.

This is incredibly raw. It makes me reminisce about so many things in the past. I am so grateful for my wife.
bless you brother.
Bless both of you and your bond🤍🤍🤍
I have met the love of my life too and grateful is exactly how this song makes me feel
And how the time spent in heart break you can never get back
Been trying to live with a broken heart for nearly a decade now. This song and all Ben’s music has helped me get through dark days.
Damn !! A decade ?! What happened ? ... if you dont mind me asking, of course. Ive been going thru it myself, 2 months in ... will this shit ever end ??!!!
Stay strong, bro.
I'm 5 years in, just know you're not alone.

Hits the heart like a jackhammer, crashes through the soul like a avalanche, enters the deepest parts of the mind like a thief in the dark of night.
The "heart" and the bodies intelligence does not need the programmed compliant mind. When we learn to tap into this we transcend.
An avalanche*
Living without her, living at all..
Goddamn that hits like destruction to my soul.
Your comment was 4 years ago ... Are you better, these days ? Amazing live performance, aint it ?
6:12 he's singing into the body of his acoustic guitar! Never seen anyone else do that!
So damn good. The way he screams “this is hell” “this is desert” kills my soul, but brings it to life too idk how to describe it.
….down the Ben Howard river I go…. ..God , I love to float.
It's possibly one of THE greatest tracks of ALL time
Never heard of this dude before. I'm going to explore his back catalogue.
A Genius
Well prepare to have your mind blown.
ua-cam.com/video/vGXFAmUZ8Mk/v-deo.html thank me later. One of his best 👌
He is phenomenal Dale so enjoy
He has some incredible music
Lyrics
The end of the after
The weight of a war
The kindness gone to bed
The weight of your laughter
Alive in the hall
Did he hear, did he hear
The fumbled words you said?
Living without her
Living at all
Seems to slow me down
Living forever
Hell, I don't know
Do I care, do I care
The thunder's rumbled sound
Now I watch her
Running 'round in love again
Now I talk about you
When I'm with our mutual friends
The end of the after
The weight of a war
The kindness gone to bed
The threat of your laughter
Alive after all
Did he hear, did he hear
The fumbled words you said?
Living without her
Living at all
Seems to slow me down
Living forever
Pale light on all
Do I care, do I care
The thunder's rumbled sound
Now I watch her
Running 'round in love again
Now I talk about you
When I'm with our mutual friends
Now I watch her
Running 'round in love again
Now I talk about you
When I'm with our mutual friends
This is it?
Well this is desert
Go to him
What the hell, love?
What the hell, love?
This is it?
Well this is desert
And go to him
What the hell, love?
What the hell?
This is it
What the hell, love?
What the hell, love?

'Could you be, could you be alone ?
My hatred, my hate will bring me close '

Seen him live twice, Dublin and London and I get goosebumps still after all these years. Incredible, really incredible ☘️

Love this! I get so lost in his music, in a good way.

Wonderful music!
HOLY SHIT WHAT A SONG!!!
Some of my favorite people & music on the planet.
when u sing into a guitar mic for a emotional change in a ever changing track, u know
So good, he earns two places on my all time top 100. This and the legendary Jools Holland slot. Gotta love when you find genius as an intuitive...
What a great song by Ben H!!!! Love it!!!
One my favourite performances of this song!

I'm here again... Thanks Ben for everything
what the heck... How am I finding this only now?
Same!
this completely destroyed me it broke the bottle I had every emotion shoved down into and sealed off he just leveled it I guess it was what I needed
That’s the healing beauty of music - helps us release deeply repressed feelings ❤
Stunning 🔐🌬🤍⚖️
Best of British. True, raw talent
Masterful performance this was prime Ben Howard right there 👏 🙌
Just great...🎶💙
Amazing, great work!
simply an amazing artist...gifted
such really big music - i have no words for

Manny J her name is India Bourne
Absolutely beautiful ❤️
Absolute Scenes ❤️✨❤️ chilling and gripping in everyway I have goosebumps all over me this is Art
So lovely, i adore this voice and passion, the guitar, everything just
Awesome
I really like his style of playing. You may look at Billy Strings. His is Blue Grass but a very similar style of playing. I like this a lot.✌
only ever seen the Jools Holland show version. you can see the emotional drain on this at the end. His zenith for sure...
The album (which this song is on)I forgot where we were is pure genuis. The ones that followed were different and didn’t grab be quite as much. But bens on a journey and he will explore. The fear off his previous album is a great song and wonderful video
Juicy unification of contrast.
This is the last time I say this is awesome without deleting
Big love to india
Miss you, Benny
Absolutely superb
Sehr gut!
WOW !

"What the hell, love?"

All u could say is wow
Don't you hide back there Mr Cline,we all saw you!
Living without you...living at all
WOW
Wow
When you discover that the person you love in the end has already moved on
I hate it when people applaud too early..
LackedMushroom0 who gives a fuck what you think.
LackedMushroom0 do you like the tune?
Yes I do. Why?
❤
Fuck yea!
Anyone notice the cello bass player on drums??🫡🙌❣️

His voice is kinda similar to lindsey buckingham when he goes up there.
Totally, i was thinking Supertramp could have done such a cover of this. Not kinda similar, he has the same yell.

Who broke this guys heart
Ed sheeran. Can piss off
This next level DONE
Who’s the cellist?
India Bourne❤
People shouting at the wrong time in this song . They should be quiet specially when the good bit starts towards the end

Il n'y a que moi qui trouve qu'il chante faux ? On dirait.
жалкое подобие Pink Floyd
No, it's a perfect Ben Howard. No need to compare the two. He writes from his heart and soul. If you don't like it, move on.
This is intense, he's amazing.
Absolutely beautiful and special ❤️
