Sitting on the balcony watching the groomers at Steamboat and my curiosity was peaked . Very cool .
Always knew groomers were INCREDIBLE and made our skier lives great! Now with hearing explanation and seeing visually incredible skill AND knowledge how to get the most out of equipment. Like the incredible intenseness needed to be a Blue Angles pilot! Well done thank you sir God Bless all groomers besides just saying thanks 😊👍
Excellent explanation. Going into my first season operating cats and videos like this are super helpful
Every one should start with. Old smoky
Thanks for the video. Would it be possible to do one on spring freeze thaw grooming and how death cookies are formed, how to avoid them etc. ?
Used to ski Snowmass, Aspen Mountain and Highlands in Co. Loved being the first skiers on the mountains (outside of the patrols that is). We'd drop 6,000' an hour for 4-5 hours a day skiing just the top halves and finish the day with cigars and beers in the condo's hot tub, pool or sauna (beers only). - Good times, except for that one dislocated shoulder.
Sounds super fun! I spent a couple of winters around Vail, Copper Mtn, and Brekenridge. Love Colorado skiing.
Good content. Subbed.
Keep it coming.
Thanks for the sub!
Great video. Really kicking it up a notch with the excellent explanation. I never heard of the snow chamber on the tiller. I assume that’s a Prinoth thing. I always thought the antenna was so you could see the tiller. Really a lot of information in a 7 minute video. Thanks and keep up the great work!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Pisten bully’s have snow chambers in the tillers aswell
@@russelljenkins4111 Thanks Russell. Unfortunately my experience is operating 1980s era equipment. So we only know what we know. Lol. Appreciate the response.
You can also slew your blade or take skip passes down and clean up a windrow going up
Yes, thank you! You sound like you have lots of operating experience, thanks for watching!
Probably auger in on the Finish pass on a up.
@@totheedge1138 I’m actually a greenhorn operator this year. I’ve just been fortunate enough to have good teachers. My dads also been doing it for 30 years.
You have to slow down and up pressure
Agreed. Prinoth uses the "bump up" button which is similar to Pistenbully up pressure. Thanks for the comment.
Know what we really love? When you don't groom at all!
Looks like they didn't put there Dumbo ear down. How embarrassing. Take some lessons. Lol. Or they were try to do 20 foot tillers.
Not berma. Snail trail. Of overlap and tiller swing. Rookies 🙈
With the alpine tiller probibly the easiest way is to vary your depth of cut which opens or closes the face and changes the angle of attack of the tiller which in different conditions will eliminate the mound , backing off or adding down pressure via the rotary dial also can alleviate the problem, depends on the snow and precise use of the blade helps a bunch ,Carrying a roll and feeding the tiller snow can affect outcome as well, all depends on temp , compaction and water content !!! Good video thanks 👍
