Been teaching 20 years. The night before I started, I made myself a promise that I would be the sort of teacher I wish I'd have had when I was younger. And that's kept me in good stead all these years.
I love your comment. You are a very special person . Nowadays our kids are thrown things that no child should have to hear and if my kids were still of school age I would pull them out because they are being taught evil and parents need to put up the hardest fight they have ever faught until it is won.
As a teacher who love his students so much and spends countless hours with them, encouraging them, trying to help them, feeding them sometimes, writing references for them, emailing home when they do something awesome, this video really hit home. Oh yeah, and my name is Mr. Jensen :)
Well done, Sir. You are a credit to this noble profession of teaching. St Paul got it right in his letter to the Corinthians, 'If we have not love, we are merely making noises'.
Thank you for being a 🔦 in this world both of my boys are "drummers." And their sister a "singer." My middle boys teacher sent me this today after a iep meeting for him. Thank you both
Why aren't there more teachers like this man? I was told by teachers that I was stupid, shamed. He's 1 in a million. Teachers shouldn't be a teach just because it's a job. But because they care & want to help children.

I'm a Music Teacher. AS SOON AS he said he tapped all the time, I knew!!! Drummers NEED to tap!!! Certain traits and abilities are simply born into us. It is up to the adults around us to recognize those traits and abilities in us because children don't have the understanding and experience to do it for themselves. I wish identifying musical traits in children was part of all educators' training. I think there would be fewer "behavior problems" if it were.
Definitely a tear jerker! Undiagnosed ADHD well into adulthood is awful.. feel guilty and wrong and a nuisance all the time. But once you realize what it is, and that you can use your condition constructively, in a way that serves YOU, the world is your oyster if you want to be. 😊
As a psychologist of 28 years, may I offer the following. Maybe it's not undiagnosed ADHD. Maybe it's just another way of being in the world that works well in some places and not so well in other places. ADHD is a diagnosis that explains distractibility and hyperfixation and many other phenomena, which are conveniently encompassed by the growing number of subtypes. Pathologising normality and difference is increasingly problematic. I'm accept there are presentations that might well warrant consideration of a diagnosis. The gift of an educator is the ability to see a child or young man/women gifts, and being able to have the vision to guide them to their full potential.
As a former student, I am glad to see you succeed and taking the advice for real and using it for your own benefit And as a teacher, I think the world needs more of Mr. Jensen. His compassion and caring to help made a difference in your life and in return you did a difference in others life and it goes on Wish you the best of luck
I raised a child who was always tapping his pencil, his fingers, anything to make a beat. However, his teachers thought he needed to be put on meds despite the objections of his pediatrician. I wish every little black boy is blessed with a teacher like this and a strong advocate like my son's pediatrician.
Mr.Pulver I wanted to thank you for speaking today at my high school it was such an honor to hear this story personally from you and for the inspiration not to be afraid to do what you want and to do what you feel
That last part can be used to do things that are harmful to them and make excuses. It's better advice to seek out those who see potential in you, and allow yourself to be encouraged. Don't doubt yourself when others don't doubt you.
Mr. Jenson is a real role model who inspires teachers to think outside the box and never takes students disruptive behaviour personally. A student's behaviour sometimes is just a sign for wrong methodology or an extraordinary ability in the student that needs to be noticed and raised in the kid. He highlighted a real quality that we should foster in ourselves as teachers, which is patience.
I’m watching this videos and in my head I’m like ‘he’s a drummer, he’s a drummer’ not really knowing where this video was going. I was floored (and cried) when Mr Jensen asks his one question. How lucky! How lucky for both of them. The world would be a better place if we could all find those moments to help each other, for now, for life
This made me cry because as an educator, I have seen first hand students who have excess energy punished and it just makes the school experience so negative. I am so happy that a teacher helped him channel his energy into something that allows his tapping to becoming something that others can enjoy! Thank you for sharing.
I am a Speech Teacher. I have been in education for 13 years or more. I love working with students, helping and encouraging them to be the best that they can be! I believe I am a Ms. Jensen! I will continue inspiring young People!!!!
I hope his message gets out to every new aspiring teacher. Children are never "the problem" - children react to the problems that surround them. It's important to find that source and then help the child to find the right remedy for the situation. Mr. Jensen was a genius of a teacher. Wish there were more of them.
I love that Mr. Jenson told you that you are not a problem but instead saw your potential. As a teacher, it's something I try to communicate every day. Thank you for being a voice of encouragement!
Moved to tears. I used to get in trouble for the same thing and general fidgeting and was often called hyperactive. Now, as I see my own boys similarly struggle at times, too, I really appreciate it when they have a teacher who recognises it, shows more patience and has tried to help, for example, by allowing them to have a piece of plasticine to fidget with below the desk. Some kids really do need to move in order to think or even relax.
I admire how Mr Jen reacted, inspiring a student instead of punishing him, understanding the problem, and reacting positively, this is really amazing. I love being a teacher.
Clint is a member of a church I go to, a couple of days ago our church had an activity and we all got called into the chapel for something. We all walked in and got seated and they pulled up Zoom and Clint was on the other end. He told us that story. After the story, he pulled out his drum sticks and played an amazing drum solo for us.
I have chills right now. I am a speech therapist and I have several children that exhibit behaviors as you did as a child. Your former teacher stands out from the rest. I hope he knows how he made a difference in your life. I wish more were like him! Many blessings to you! Thank you for sharing.
Oh yes.I did that for my 2 kids .I tune in to kids needs that they or no one could see their greatness.(the problem kids they say)they put my daughter out kindergarten for being talkative wont sit still and I wrote poems and speeches for competitions (she has awards from this.)she reads avidly ,quite articulate and has leadership skills. Teaching her dance now and sports.she is 10..I am in Jamaica so here they beat and diminish your child.did the same for my son he had autism couldnt learn at school he learns differenty.I coach him in sports.he is in the navy.I am a trained teacher who never fit within the narrow stuctures of the Jamaican classroom.Too rigid.I had to homeschool them to protect their future self.I gave them a voice so they could claim their power.thank you so much for posting.
You did excellently and are still doing fine mama! Please accept my hugs from Nigeria. You are their hero , angel and guide. Please do not stop, till we have great Edisons out of them both. Great mom, I celebrate and feel you 😭🥰❤️
I’m a mommy of a “tapper” and (8 year old) drummer! I believe he has what people would diagnose as ADHD we’ve been blessed with teachers who allow him to stand when he works and other minor adaptations to the classic classroom environment. Thank you for this beautiful video and sharing your testimony! 😭 Andi
I honestly believe little boys were not designed to be sitting for 6-7 hours a day. They need lots of outside time to run around and play. Unfortunately schools these days are not designed for ample play.
I was that child too, tapper, pen chewer, foot tapper, doodler, etc. only this year I was diagnosed with ADHD. Your child will be successful - just let the path to his success meander a little bit. I have 2 advanced degrees and am successful in my career. Keep going, mama bear!
What a great teacher who can turn the weakness in a child into something inspiring! This shows how much our kids are in need of those kinds of teachers who can turn their life upside down in a good way. I'm so happy for you to have a chance to find your way in life!
My son's kindergarten teacher shared this video with the class (my son attends virtual school). I was in tears! 😭 My son has similar tendencies and I've always noticed music, in general, helps him focus and he is able to pickup on beats & rythms pretty quickly. God bless teachers like Mr. Jensen ❤
I think that Mr Jensen is a not a nice teacher but a hopeful teacher and a believing teacher. He believed in everything that would help others to get their dreams. Mr Jensen should be given a best teacher award for his action and the sticks he had given to Mr Clint. Good work, Mr Jensen.
Your story is so incredible! I teach special ed and the one thing I want all my kids to know is that they are loved & valued! It's a tough world out there. Thanks for being such an inspiration to all!
I just started working in a school setting last school year and I’ve been told multiple times that I shouldn’t grow too close to students and I should protect my mental health (mostly from outsiders but even from some within the building). Talking to students is my favorite part of my job and I’ve found that so many just want to be heard, and need someone to vent to. It’s heartbreaking but I wouldn’t trade those conversations for “a little peace”. I will continue to strive to be a Mr.Jensen!❤
As a teacher, I watched this video as part of a course called: "Teaching Students with Behavioural Needs". Getting to know the students is exactly the model of teaching that we are striving for. Learning about what they find motivating, interesting, frustrating and heartbreaking, is important for building trust and getting to understand the person behind the behaviour. If you can learn these things, you now have the information you need to really help them, both making personal connections to the curriculum and shifting problematic behaviours to more constructive ones. Probably the most important aspect of behaviour to keep in mind is that it is not about you, the teacher. They may be reacting to what you have done or said, but their reaction also comes from patterns of behaviour and personal issues that came long before you.
I had a very very similar experience with a teacher who took interest in what I was up to AND challenged me to be better. I have a great career, I've traveled the world, I am probably even alive because that man wouldn't let me settle for an A-, but more importantly... he took interest in who I was and what I was into. Thank you to the REAL teachers, the unsung heroes of the world, (especially in America - no disrespect but I can only speak about what I know and where I'm from). Thank you to the REAL teachers, who are able to go beyond the job and the paycheck and see the person inside the student.
I conducted a training on last week for shift supervisors for an adolescent treatment facility. I showed this video to the team and asked the question, "Why was it important for me to show you this?" The first thing all said was "to make us cry" but it was what followed that was powerful. One of the supervisors stated the video was "an important lesson for supervisors not to react so quickly with the conclusion to fire a direct report when a situation is contrary". The team left the class experience empowered to show more patience towards others and shifting solution of an action plan of support and training before giving up. Thanks for assisting in getting this point across. This was beautiful.
Yes. Thank you to all the Mr. Jensen's in the world who are always seeking to find their children's strengths. I believe that those efforts will make the world a better place in ways you can not even imagine. Be well, live long and keeping fighting to empower the future.
Soooo true, being a teacher can understand it so well. Fought for my kids and I have always believed that, if you can change one child's life then its a miracle.🙏🏼❤️
Mr. Jensen is the kind of teacher with strong empathy, and instead of seeing something as a problem, he views it as potential for improvement or guidance. As shown in the video, Mr. Jensen did not see the child's condition as a problem but rather as an opportunity to introduce the child to something that could serve as an outlet or a way for them to showcase their skills and honed their talent.
Thank you for sharing!!! This was my Mr. Jensen that helped me discover I wasn't stupid and that I was "good" at Math by giving me an alternate path to traditional Math Drills. He is one reason I returned to college after many years to earn a degree in Elementary Education. I hope I will be able to touch lives as he did!
This is incredible! I woke up this morning from a dream about being a middle school student. I remembered this young man, who I used to be inspired by, whenever he would play the drums. I was a closed off shy kid, and I would think, man I wish I could just let loose in front of people, I wish I could allow myself to bang on these drums in the rhythms that my heart felt. I wish I could smile and welcome conversation with kids I didn’t know. I remember this kid, who seemed to do this effortlessly and, I know he never knew this, but I use to admire this person and his ability to do these things. His name was Clint, so the moment you received those sticks, you started inspiring others, whether you knew it or not. Many years have past and I forgot about moments like these, until I awake from a dream, remembering this name, why, I don’t know. So I look this person up and, come across this quote “ It’s not about being the best in the World. It’s about being the best for the World.” Be a Clint Pulver God bless!
This is where it’s at! Whether a teacher, a leader, or a HUMAN BEING, we have a responsibility to help one another use what we have to grow and impact. Today, I will reflect on the Mr. Jensens throughout my life with gratitude. And every time I face an annoyance, dressed up on the words and behaviors of those around me, I will pause and consider: Where is the opportunity in this challenge for a growth spurt?
I am a middle school teacher who showed this to both of my classes today ( 8th graders) and talked about what it means to be kind and support others to be their best selves. I also wanted my students who do fidget to see this and know their energy is there to express something. Nothing is wrong. You also reminded me that just like you, I had a student who was a tapper quite a few years ago. Luckily my dad is a tapper ( and an avid musician), so I knew the signs. That fine young man was a musician too of course. Bravo I say. More human kindness. More open mindedness. Ms. Goldfarb Branciforte Middle School. Santa Cruz CA.
I ama teacher, a musician and a tapper. How does learning to be a drummer help a student stop disrupting those students that need silence to learn? Thanks
I am going to school currently to become a special education teacher. I stumbled upon this in my research for a paper on growth mindset. I’m so glad I did. I’ve made all my family members watch it and it has brought all of us to tears. Thank the Lord for Mr. Jensen and all those amazing teachers out there. God bless you Clint. Imagine what the world would look like if everyone tried to be the best for it. Very powerful. Thanks for sharing your story.
Thank you for telling your story and how Mr Jensen has changed your life with understanding and kindness and inspired you to find the hidden treasures within . Most people for lack of understanding and compassion crush the children spirit rather than nurturing and helping them to find their way . Thank you 😊🌻
Now THIS is a blessed story for those students out there with similar personalities. I don't want to use the word problems because as we saw, it wasn't a problem. Just mis-direction. What a wonderful thing for that educator to do.
I love stories like this. As a teacher I always tried to be positive and encouraging to my students. I love when they come back and tell me something that I said that made a difference. This is awsome
Thank you Mr. Jensen! From someone that has never heard him play but from someone that felt valued and cared for. Mr. Jensen is a hero and thank you Clint for bringing some sunshine to my day - yes there are good people in this world. Some are angels and some give recognition to angels. Two worthy hero to emulate!
@@tanyacurtis8172 I hadn't remembered this video until your comment - I don't know how I forgot it. This is truly a wonderful life lesson and the last line sticks with me I hope, forever. Don't worry about being the best in the world, be the best for the world. WOW, I wish I had Mr. Jenson for my neighbor.
Every time I watch this video, it brings tears to my eyes. It shows the real motive behind why I became a teacher. Teaching is a very challenging and tiring job, but it's also incredibly fulfilling. I believe that dedicated teachers have the power to change their students' lives, even if they don't always get to see the impact they make.
Such a beautiful story! We all have to look at what’s behind every action and word.. There’s always something more! How awesome that Mr. Jensen saw beyond what meets the eye.
Had to watch this video for school assignment and honestly I am so inspired. Instead of scolding him, Mr Jensen saw opportunity and talent. And he lead Clint in the right way.
I'm a drummer to! And my teachers and all the other students would say the exact same to me like in that story. Just wanted to say thank you. Thank you very much for showing me that i'm not a problem!❤
What a great teacher Mr. Jensen is !! He turned an annoying habbit of a student into his passion. This video brought me tears. I wish I could have someone in my life who can see something good about me. 💕😘😓
This is just a powerful story. Teachers should have a true love for the children. And I do believe that there is some such teachers. I had one. I can not forget her. Thanks for sharing this video.
I am proud to say that I have had my own Mr. Jensen moments throughout my career. After teaching for so many years, I would hope that I've had many, as I have positively effected the lives of so many of my students and their families. This is one of the best parts of being a Teacher!
You all probably dont care but does any of you know of a trick to log back into an instagram account..? I somehow forgot my password. I would love any tricks you can give me.
Brownshe This was really an Inspirational Video. My mind went back to high school to a boy that sat next to me that always got in trouble for tapping his foot. Thank you Mr. Jensen for being the solution .
Our principal directed us here. As someone who works daily with kids finding the solution and addressing their needs thank you for sharing your story. I hope you shared your story with Mr Jensen so few do.
@@soulstice18 Probably not but that's not the point. Thank-you Willie for encouraging those whose brains work a bit differently than the "normal". I bet your students love you. :)
My question too. Did it stop the tapping? In real life this can become a great problem for teachers who have the constant tapping, clicking of pens, shaking of upper legs, feet or hands in their peripheral vision. Also the student's neighbours who are trying to concentrate are effected. This is really a tremendous problem in Math classes where one needs to be extra focused. The more difficult the sums get, the more one zooms into the noise and you can literally see the tension and frustration build up in the children. Any "in class" solution to solve this dilemma that seems to grow exponentionally?
My school just played this for the whole staff, and our BCBA hammered home how important it is to be a Mr Jensen. To not look for weaknesses in our students but find strengths.
JUST WOW! THIS IS EDUCATION AT ITS FINEST! ALLOWING CHILDREN TO FIND THEIR TALENT, TREASURES AND BRING IT TO THE WORLD! WE NEED MORE LIKE MR. JENSON!! AND YOU CLINT! THANKS SO MUCH FOR SHARING!
This is absolutey beautiful! I´m a teacher, and this is exactly what I want my students (I teach adults, though) to see and experience. It´s about letting them be what each is meant to be and do. Bravo!
I’ve been teacher for a long time but as for this that’s the first time that I felt that I have a lot of things to do with students needs and to understand and discover more about them. That’s how a great teacher can be with making a difference in students life not only the learning process.
This is amazing! I was the same way in my adolescent years, always tapping on table tops and my desk at school and never really even noticing... One day out at my dad's place I was doing it and he looked at me and said "we should get you a set of bongos or something." I said "bongos? Why??" He said "you've been tapping beats for the past hour, I think you could be a drummer." The thought had never even crossed my mind before. He took me to his friend's condo in the same building who was a wicked drummer, and he sat me down and gave me my first lesson, and from there I was hooked. But being 15 with little money, and living with a mother not so supportive of music, I didn't have a chance to keep pursuing it (my dad lived out of town). But I tapped and tapped and tapped my pens and pencils throughout the rest of high school, practicing what I had learned that day. Ended up getting a few lessons a little later on from a sister's friend, who even let me borrow a kit for a couple months (at the behest of my mother) so I could practice at home. But after those few months I was without a kit again... But, after a long time of hearing me play and talk about it, my mother came around, and her and the rest of my family gave me my first kit for a graduation gift at age 17... I'm 25 now and I haven't looked back. In two local bands and working on an album with each one. I truly believe that I was out on this planet to drum. I only wish the potential had been noticed earlier as my only regret is not getting to play longer than I have. But ultimately I am grateful... I love this!
The same happened to me last year: I had a student that used to tap on his desk all the time. Once his mom was at school, I recommended her to take him to take some drum lessons, and she told me it was a great idea! Another student used to draw all the time during class (He was GREAT!) and he learned to draw on his own, I was really surprised! One day I looked for information about drawing lessons in my town and wrote everything on a paper that I gave him the next day. He was very happy and later told me his mom was going to ask for information. Finally, other girl told a story to the class and everyone was looking at her paying attention. She was moving around, using different voice volume and I was surprised, she was even better than me for telling stories.... I asked her if she had ever considered going to oratory lessons. She said "No. but... why? what is that?" I explained her and told her that I liked a lot the way she spoke infront all her classmates. She put a bright smile on her face that I still remember... 🍎👩🏻🏫👦🏻👧🏻👦🏻
I appreciate the teacher's role because he thought out of the box; I saw for the student's talented. Thus, the teacher changed the attitude of sufficient teacher to efficient teacher. I am really looking forward to seeing this model at all schools
I have learned this year that a lot of teachers may think they're not good teachers. But it can be those very teachers that change students' lives and sometimes don't even know it.
I am a 2nd year student doing my teachers degree... our teacher sent us this video before final exams and it made my day! Thank you for sharing your story xxx
I needed to see this! I’m literally standing at the copy machine right now at my high school. Making copies for a lesson that I will teach later wondering to myself “how am I going to get through this day?” My motivation simply was not there so I literally typed in “teacher motivation “ to get help me. This video really helped me this morning, thank you.
Awesome story. Wish someone would have cared like that when I couldn’t stop fidgeting in school as a kid. I was constantly sent to the principal and separated from other kids. I still have issues thinking I’m a problem and not meant for anything but being a distraction.
What a great teacher . We as parents & educators need to remember every child has a gift sometimes it's an unseen gift it's our job as a parent or educator to encourage their gift. I have shared this video on Facebook & Twitter
I love this, thanks for sharing! Teachers have the power to "make or break" a child's dreams! My husband was told by a teacher early in his life that he had no musical talent....he has lived his life believing this ..... until now!
Thank God for Mr. Jensen !! Mine was Mrs. Lofgren. She saw me as an equal first of all. Then she saw in me some talent in writing. Though it took a long time for me to see in myself what she saw, I never forgot her and her smile. She still shines in my heart as a true human being and a true friend. Thanks so much for this video, Clint. It's one of the best I've ever seen.
Wow...it brought tears in my eyes... Hats off, to all such teachers... Who believe in their students and their abilities and make their lives... Worth living...
and that IS the only task of a teacher; to take each student from where they are, by finding their natural talents and helping them develop them, to where they can fulfill their potential. All else - control, curriculum, discipline etc, must serve only that goal.
Unfortunately, the public school system does not allow teachers to teach. State testing is the only driving force in the school system today. Teachers can no longer take time to teach the curriculum and to let students explore new concepts and ideals. Today the federal, state, local school districts and school boards control the classroom, not the teacher. Teachers no longer have autonomy in their classrooms. The American public needs to rise up and demand the we get rid of state testing and allow teachers autonomy in their classrooms so they can actually teach!
Been teaching 20 years. The night before I started, I made myself a promise that I would be the sort of teacher I wish I'd have had when I was younger. And that's kept me in good stead all these years.

I admire how Mr Jen reacted, inspiring a student instead of punishing him, understanding the problem, and reacting positively, this is really amazing. I love being a teacher.
This is our James!! Every report conference we would hear, “James doing great, but he constantly drums his pencils on his desk”. 💙
@@steffa648 I agree! That goes for little girls as well. 😉
I was that child too, tapper, pen chewer, foot tapper, doodler, etc. only this year I was diagnosed with ADHD. Your child will be successful - just let the path to his success meander a little bit. I have 2 advanced degrees and am successful in my career. Keep going, mama bear!
@@steffa648*children. Girls should not be sitting for hours either.
@@brendalg4 yes true!!
This made me tear up. I saw this while preparing to be a teacher and I truly pray to be one of a kind just like Mr. Jensen.
This made me cry. Just a beautiful message about believing in others. Thank you for sharing this with the world!!!
Showed this video, this morning at Temecula Valley High School to 3,000 students. Outstanding!
What a great teacher who can turn the weakness in a child into something inspiring! This shows how much our kids are in need of those kinds of teachers who can turn their life upside down in a good way. I'm so happy for you to have a chance to find your way in life!
Which weakness? There never was one.
It wasn't a weakness. It is an ability that needed focusing. 😊😊
Kasey Jane Hansen they’re lucky to have you.
My girlfriend does this work too and she is an inspiration like you.
This is my son and his exact behavior and my exact solution. Today he's still playing drums and always will 😁
Child of God yesssssss!!!
I saw my son in you...that was him all the time. And he loves playing the drums. I hope it gives him the success it's given you.
I’m just so smiling. What a wonderful story, I just love it! Yes Lord help us all to be like Mr. Jensen and noticed the potential in people.
Mr Jensen deserves a million dollars and a million praises.
So I look this person up and, come across this quote
“ It’s not about being the best in the World. It’s about being the best for the World.”
Be a Clint Pulver
God bless!
I like thé last stce.. what IS thé opportunity in this behavior for growth ?
Sara Goldfarb thank you so much for sharing and thank you for being a teacher
I ama teacher, a musician and a tapper. How does learning to be a drummer help a student stop disrupting those students that need silence to learn? Thanks
I love that, your energy is there for a REASON, to EXPRESS something.. YES! excellent insight, thanks
@@LCLenardmaybe it helps them not do it in class so much if they have an outlet at other times?
This is so inspirational, who else got goosebumps? THANK YOU Mr.Jensen!
It is so different when we have someone that believe in us and see in us what we can not see in ourselves.
Well said
@@tanyacurtis8172 I hadn't remembered this video until your comment - I don't know how I forgot it.
More teachers need to be like Mr. Jensen! Such a beautiful story!!! I'm crying over here!!! 😍🤗😭

That is Awesome and kudos and hugs to Mr. Jenson. I wish my sons had had a Mr. Jenson!! What a difference he made!
God Bless all the Mr. Jensen's in the world!
Such a beautiful story! We all have to look at what’s behind every action and word.. There’s always something more! How awesome that Mr. Jensen saw beyond what meets the eye.
love your name

I have found the drummers in my classes and have given away so many drum sticks since seeing this video! #gamechanger #drummingislife
Did it stop the tapping during class?
So inspiring! Hope that all teachers could see students as a gem rather than as a trouble, just like what Mr. Jensen did.

Nice bideo
My school just played this for the whole staff, and our BCBA hammered home how important it is to be a Mr Jensen. To not look for weaknesses in our students but find strengths.
As a singer I knew where this was headed. God bless all intentional teachers worldwide🎉❤
This absolutely amazing! Tears flowing as I write this. Teaching is my calling and passion. I strive to be a Mr. Jensen daily.

This is absolutey beautiful! I´m a teacher, and this is exactly what I want my students (I teach adults, though) to see and experience. It´s about letting them be what each is meant to be and do. Bravo!
Every student needs a "Mr. Jensen" in thier lives! What an amazing story- thanks for sharing.
I am misty-eyed. God bless such beautiful teachers.
Scott Gooding I love it Scott!! Keep rocking brother!
@@clintpulver thanks man!
The same happened to me last year:
I had a student that used to tap on his desk all the time.
God bless you Mr Johnson and All my teachers who believed in me
We need more people, more educators like Mr. Jensen~`` Deep Respect to Mr. Jensen~``
I appreciate the teacher's role because he thought out of the box; I saw for the student's talented. Thus, the teacher changed the attitude of sufficient teacher to efficient teacher. I am really looking forward to seeing this model at all schools
I'm 11 years old and I love drums and still play today. I want to be a leader in a band like maybe for the MARINES.
Awesome, mcpeekaboos! You can do it! Say it out loud everyday! 👍
I have learned this year that a lot of teachers may think they're not good teachers. But it can be those very teachers that change students' lives and sometimes don't even know it.
So wonderful to hear of a teacher that bucks the restrictive education system and sees the potential of every child. Then nurtures it.

Mr. Jensen, thank you! I remember one of my teachers in high school, who guided me and gave me positive advice.
Wow...it brought tears in my eyes... Hats off, to all such teachers... Who believe in their students and their abilities and make their lives... Worth living...
and that IS the only task of a teacher; to take each student from where they are, by finding
their natural talents and helping them develop them, to where they can fulfill their potential.
All else - control, curriculum, discipline etc, must serve only that goal.
and nothing else.....Great story. I let a tear....
We all need a MrJensen in our lives.....Thank you!
Your story is fantastic. It needs to be heard by more people. Sadly many other’s stories begin the same, but do not end the same. Thanks for sharing.
Really , he is a very great teacher who believed in his student's ability and succeeded in changing his life completely.
This is a great way to inspire how a child to open his or her talent.
Very inspirational. In a world where it's become so easy to criticize others, we should all look within ourselves because Mr. Jensen is in all of us.
