Didn't we all human kind owe to this man for what he did to Queen? If it wasn't because of Mr. Everett who played the song fourteen times over the weekend and then soon helping it became the number one in charts (according to Mr. Roger Taylor in an interview "Roger Taylor on Kenny Everett [13/12/2015] "), Bohemian Rhapsody nor Queen would never be found anywhere in the universe, but buried deep down along with all their talents... Thank you and God bless you, Mr. Everett.
I've been wondering for about 30 years if anyone had a copy of this legendary weekend of Queen/Bo Rap orgy on Capital Radio. It turns out Freddie had it all along!
Apparently Ken would play snippets of the song before this and just say that his finger slipped before moving on to increase hype. Needless to say that when he did get to play it in full, he played it 14 times over the space of two shows
Thank you thank you the genius that was Kenny Everett! I remember this day so well Saturday lunchtime - Capital Radio I was 16 years old and waiting to hear the new single from Queen ----- it didnt disappoint!
Kenny Everett, dio alerta al mundo de esta obra de arte del siglo XX, BOHEMIAN RHAPSODY. QUEEN, absolutamente brillantes, magistrales. Freddie's live forever. 👑🌍⭐️🧚♂️💛
This has been put together beautifully, just as we would have done then with our cassette recorders. If Bohemian Rhapsody had been released in 2015, I fear it would not have got on any playlists as the likes of George Ergatoudis would have decided it wasn't relevant to his target audience.
"For the first time anywhere in this Universe of ours"
Damn.
I can't believe we're able to listen to this 40 years on! Just imagine that first moment......nobody could have known what this would turn into.
