We didn't shoot a meat target because it's target ammo. But so many people have mentioned it, we'll make a part two.
Also, remember, you have not won a prize, that's a scam.
First!
Do I get a prize now?
@@TheCrusha45 lol
This comparison is akin to comparing Pop Tarts to Pizza Rolls.
Hold judgement until you see what comes OUT of your meat target...
I think the 1776 ammo will have comparable results as the honey badger ammo had on the 🐖 🎯.
Solid projectile, 1300fps velocity, harder than lead....can't imagine very much effect on the meat target as compared to self-defense ammo.
Serious thanks to 1776 for providing Paul with the 1000 rounds of test ammunition!!
My thoughts exactly . Have a good one .
Let's not forget Trey Parker, Matt Stone and Bruce Howell.

Never heard of it, but after watching this, I ordered some 6.5 Grendel and some 30-06 ammo.
Indeed
Sounds like 1776 made an honest effort and actually reached out to you. I'd say you did a fairly honest review that makes them able to hold their head up around the big boxes. Good job
They know they will sell ammo, Paul will make them money its a good product.
They know what they have too if they are sending it for a blind review with no known context. Also a few hundred rounds is a better test then most of us would have tried off the shelf. Multiple firearms crossing brands and platforms... I'd say that was a fairly honest effort. Now to really impress they should send about 10 more cases...but I think that 1776 and Paul held up pretty well to what seems like a verbal handshake deal of here try this.
"Fairly honest"? 🤨
I think you may have somehow confused Mr Harrell with some other youtuber Sir...?
If you want "fairly honest" reviews then I'd suggest going to that other channel that caused this confusion and staying there, because as an enthusiastic non-expert in this field I trust Paul Harrell's objectivity and honesty 100%, while I have my doubts about *some* other channels...
@@therogers4432 I say fairly honest because of sample size not Paul. I also don't know anything about 1776 to know if this was a box off the shelf or one made just for Paul.
Again at face value of the review of the sample used it looks like both Paul and 1776 did a good job.
There's things that Paul can't control that make him braver than me just for using ammo sent to him. I wouldn't.
@@andystampfli9127 if the review is what you're commenting on, it should be "completely honest".
I will buy the 1776 just because they were brave enough to send Paul 1000 rounds to test knowing he doesn't play favorites and gives honest evaluations. Thanks Paul and 1776.
I have a lot of respect for a company willing to put it on the line with an unpaid review. I’ll be watching for it and I’ll start picking it up. Thanks for the great review.
Especially with Paul Harrell because he's such a straight forward and honest guy.
Maybe they have an employee or customer who watches Paul and knows he's fair. It shows some belief in your product to send it to someone like Paul who you know is a straight shooter (pun intended)!
I had just seen this ammo when searching for some 10mm, and it was cheaper than most anything else so I will definitely end up ordering some now

Thank you Paul.
Great video. I would not even have considered this ammo without seeing this. I am sure I am not the only one. Seems like 1176 made a wise choice sending you 1k rounds for free.
I'd like to see someone review off the shelf ammo before I'd commit to ordering 500 rounds. They could have sent him a "special batch."
@@FoulPet That thought occurred to me as well, but Paul has a lot of viewers. I'm sure this video will encourage a number of them to try a box of 1776 ammo and if it has problems they won't be shy in posting descriptions about it. A 764K subscriber base would be a bad thing to try to deceive.
I hope their ammo is good enough to justify increasing production and they are careful to maintain quality control if they do need to expand.
@Kevin Goebel yeah I'm hopeful but suspicious
The people at 1776 are watching this and celebrating, slapping high-fives and toasting their success. Talk about a good business move.
$300 well spent, I'd say.

1776...Impressive👍. Also, a very deserved "Hell yea" to Chuck's abilities with that little G3.
Thanks for the information, Paul, and thanks to 1776 Ammunition for giving their product a public review.
Paul Harrell is the man!
Sweet Baby Jesus…the 80’s montage nobody asked for but we absolutely needed
I just returned from 1776's website. And found out that they also produce 115 grain jacketed hollow points and full metal jacket 9 mm bullets. It would be nice if they sent you a couple boxes of those to test side by side with the Remington and Winchester and or critical defense ammo. Keep up the good work Paul!
It's a rare defensive ammunition that isn't pretty costly to manufacture. A second 1,000 rounds of more-expensive ammo is going to take a while to justify.
@@Stevarooni This video has 35,000 views in 16 hours. For the $600 cost to make/send him ammo - even if they just send 500 rounds, they'd have a tough time running an add anywhere that will get them the exposure they get here. They just need to do the analysis after "x'" period of time and see if they got a sales lift worth the cost.
@@Stevarooni For basic reliability, accuracy, & of course ballistics meat target testing, they wouldn't need to send a thousand rounds. Paul's testing is very efficient.
A lot of ranges are adopting a lead free ammunition requirement. Sounds like there is a viable source to meet that requirement. Thanks Paul for sharing your testing. Cheers.
If there's a viable alternative, I'm not emotionally invested in breathing lead. I can't blame range worked for wanting to cut down on exposure.
I'd just as soon not having to import lead for our ammo, myself.
@@durgan5668 We wouldn't have to if the EPA hadn't put all the primary smelters out of business.
@@farstrider79 yea, the exposure range employees get is real. A buddy of mine had to go through the process of dealing with severe lead exposure. The negative health effects are pretty devastating.
@@1978garfield wow, I can't think of a single good reason why the Environmental Protective Agency would want to shut down lead smelters. It's not like lead is one of the most poisonous elements to humans and animals
Thanks for what you do, Paul! Honestly, I can be dealing with some quite serious and overwhelming things from time to time, but just put on one of your videos, and suddenly my mind is off the difficulties and I find myself lost in actually caring about ammunition and firearm comparisons, and in the field fire-starting and meal prep exercises. Thanks, Paul! Your work is appreciated!
The CX4 not liking it isn't a deal breaker; many guns will have an ammo they don't like. Thank you Mr. Harrell for your fair and thorough review of this ammo. I'll be looking for it, and also for a meat target shoot. Sounds like a viable alternative to standard ball ammo at least for target shooting!
pauls' taste for humour is just pure gold for me.
Very compelling and very fair handed review, I like what I see! Would be interesting to put it through the meat target test. Thank you Paul and chuck! Great video!
@Peter smith According to a comment I just read sonewhere ^up here^, the 1776 lead-free is made from a frangible composite of zinc alloy and resin, according to the website?

Well done to that company for standing behind their product!!
1776 lead free ammo? Our Founders would have been shocked!
I think at this point, they'd be more then shocked 😆
Why? The oldest bullets in the world were carved stones. Due to the nature of our early history, the founders would have known about stone bullets used by tribal societies in our own neck of the woods. And the literacy of the pseudo aristocracy that supplanted the natural nobility after the revolution means they would have invariably known about stone sling bullets in ancient Europe. As well they probably would have been aware that some early firearms used arrows and bolts as ammunition.
The idea that would have taken as long as it had to invent lead free ammo which can compete with lead, would likely have been a shock, even to false leaders and men-in-name-only like the founding fathers.

Where's the meat target? I know, they're probably non expanding projectiles and would zip through 50 layers of new and improved fleece bullet stop, but I bet I'm not the only one who'd love to see that.
Hey Paul, tell your friends at 1776 ammo they can send ME 1,000 rounds of ammo if they want. I'm ready to believe.
Sometime I forget how funny Paul can really be. That montage was too good.
Loved the montage
Great video and even greater montage. I know it's target ammo but I'd like to see how the 1776 9x19 would do vs the meat target.
It's not hollow point, but I'll add my vote for using 1776 for the Meat Target as well as the De-Luxe Cinder Blocks and Car Door tests
Perhaps a penetration test through a barrier before hitting the meat target.
Per another comment the slugs are nylon - coated frangible sintered copper zinc.
If the nylon is slippery enough, they'll punch through. If they hit bone they'll turn to dust.
Sttill, I wanna see it too.
I was waiting for the meat target, even if it is not a personal deffense ammunition.

I for one am really digging the velocities and penetration im getting from loading steel ball bearing instead of led buckshot in 12 Guage. Only downside is it's lighter and therefore doesn't transfer as much kinetic energy.

Good review. Appreciate the time you took putting this together. I thought it was very interesting the speed results on the Remington Green and White Target ammo. I shot some of that and swore I would never buy it again unless it was an emergency. The power was all over the place.
😂 the montage and the Team America song dubbed over it made my day! Well played sir!
6:19 Kudos to Chuck for helping make more comparisons possible - not everybody ( myself included) is Paul Harrell and that is not a backhanded compliment whatsoever given the level of expertise Paul Harrell has. The montage was great. Glad I stayed up past my bedtime
We sell sinterfire ammo at the store I work at. Interesting to see this so I have some info for customers.
Great video Paul. And thanks to 1776 for donating the ammo!!
Excellent vid 👍
Looks like a good option for reducing lead in the environment given the pressures some places on lead bans.
On the serious side, looks like pretty good practice ammo & lead free could be good especially for those that spend a lot of time at an indoor range.
Thanx Paul, I have never heard of the 1776 Ammo. Now I will have to look for it !!!
I'm very grateful for this review, we've had issues in my area with lead poisoning in waterfowl and I've been looking for a decent lead free target ammo. Shotshells are the most likely culprit, but I'm glad the industry is adding more non lead options.
I would love to switch to lead free ammo if it compares favorably in price, accuracy, and effectiveness. I'm hoping that lead free ammo doesn't get forced on us. I'm hoping that it just becomes cheap and good. This looks like a step in that direction.
Love the honest review. Great job Paul.
What? No prize! I'm definitely shattered. Better hurry with part 2 to revive my hope. Glad to see the ammunition comparison. It's always educational.
Steve McQueen : “We deal in composite covered with a hard exo-coating friend!”

Those are some remarkably consistent velocities on the 1776 ammo, two “flyers” aside.
An excellent presentation, Paul, and a great review of what seems to be very good target ammo.
Honest review looks like 1776 for the win! I will definitely keep an eye out for some and pick some up for my own test in my firearms.
I find it somehow delightful to know that Paul has seen Team America: World Police
Best gun channel on UA-cam. No gimmicks. Just the facts.
Wow. The audio sounds fantastic during the chrono test!
I can't wait to watch this review! ...They're among the top TWO most affordable 9mm producers on the market right now, & I've been wondering how their ammo holds up
With a light projectile and high velocity, it may be overdriven through the Storm carbine
Interesting and informative as always. Thanks Paul and crew.
They sell this at my local gun shop. Had one round fail to fire, but other than that, it's worked well for me and my wife.
With so many new ammo manufacturers, I'm always hesitant to try one I've never heard of, but if I come across 1776 for a decent price I'll pick some up 👍
Off-hand, I'm guessing that in typical carbine fashion, the longer barrel and more complete combustion can destabilize the light 90gr. projectile.
Great video as always, Paul and crew.
I'm wondering if it melts the nylon down the barrel. Good point.
The fact that you actually use South Park montage music is why I love you Paul.
The Montage music is comedy gold.
I am very interested in this ammo! It seems like a win/win... Lead-free, competitively priced, and accurate! I'm absolutely going to look at buying some to try out. Thanks Paul & 1776
The added velocity in the carbine might suggest a different spin (higher) rate is needed. Very fast powder otherwise the carbine would have a significantly higher velocity with 1776. I think I will try a box or two. The meat target would help decide since you never know what you may have on hand when you need it.
And... it was tested after the barrel was heated up.
It's clearly target ammo, and those are Sinterfire bullets. Meat target isn't going to tell you shit, the paper target + price being pretty good + having the giant brass balls to send it to Paul for review tell you all you need to know.
@@chaimafaghet7343 some people think fmj bullets are only good for target practice. That is what the military uses. You may use it if you loaded for a trip to the range and got caught in a gunfight. Semi wad cutters were designed for target shooting but are great hunting rounds. Besides I love seeing somebody holding two handfuls of shredded oranges and hate fleece blankets.

Lead free ammo is coming whether we like it or not. Good to see an outfit producing it reliably.
That’s one of the reasons I have been stockpiling lead ammo for years now. Every time I shoot, I always replace my ammo with more than I fired. Gotta constantly grow the stockpile, not just maintain it.
it realy shows that it can be done...without a high price or other draw backs, at least for target pratice or non expanding projectiles.
There's some really good lead free hunting ammo out there like Barnes TTSX. Some rifles don't like it though.
@@rifleshooterchannel208 the tyrants in control
@@PTANV-x2g mould my own ammo. Tested pure bismuth and pure zinc both sub and supersonic. Metals industry came out with a lead sub alloy years ago using bismuth tin antimony. But at 30 bucks per pound, fk that. Pure bismuth works great for handgun and steel or subsonic rifle and steel. With a chrono with the rifle. Pure zinc for rifle. Both are softer than pure copper rounds so not as bad on the rifling.

Thanks for sharing!
I noticed Chuck didn't have much to say about the shooter - induced malfunction.
Maybe the Beretta carbine has a twist rate that doesn't stabilize 90 grain bullets as well
That's my guess as well. Probably too fast a rate for how short the bullet is.
@@tommylitchfield3450 The bullet isn't short, it's extra-long. Copper and tin is less dense than lead.

I absolutely LOVED the fact that you used the Montage song from South Park for your montage! It was hilarious!
Thank you for all you guys do Paul! It certainly breaks up the weekend, that's for sure!
I'm curious what lead-free would do to a meat target. I know it's not a defensive round, but if it's a frangible round all that energy should be dumped very quickly which might make it a decent choice. (Frangibles being extra-attractive in suburban and urban areas.)
Everyone needs to watch this channel!
Period!
Spread the word! Paul at the very minimum deserves 1 million subscribers by now--and he may actually have that; I understand U-Tub might hide more than dislikes...
People saying thanks but the company should thank Paul for doing one of the highest reach advertisements that will be on UA-cam forever for free.
Ma you are always so prepared. Last time I did a reliability test. I was so embarrassed!! I had to go back home for the montage! Thankyou.
It would be interesting to see how these bullets do against hard barriers such as plywood or windshield glass. Some people use non expanding rounds for SD and a lot of these non metal rounds fragment against hard barriers making them useless.
But this isn't advertised as a SD round, it's a target/plinking round.
It's like marking frangible ammo down for not being viable for SD; it's a pointless exercise as it's not what it's designed for.
@@L5GUK but there are plenty of uses for things that are completely viable yet they weren't specifically designed for it. Don't know till you find out. Kind of like the "Tumble upon impact" rounds being capable of penetrating soft armor.
