Christmas travelers struggled to get home as I-90 in South Dakota closed due to blizzard conditions. In nearby Box Elder, SD, it was a total whiteout as winds in excess of 50mph drifted in many garage doors and driveways. Heavy duty machinery and plows were used to keep neighborhoods somewhat passable as snow continued to drift over streets. More snow and high winds are expected into Tuesday night before the rare retrograding storm exits the region.
Package includes:
Huge snow drifts covering driveways, cars, and porches
Car port torn apart and damaged by wind
Vehicles stuck on side of the road in snow
Whiteout conditions with high winds
I-90 closure signage and closure gate
Front end loader and snow plows clearing snow
Semi trucks in snow
Driver POV on I-90
Thanks for the post. My son plows I90... following a plow that close.... poor choice.
Probably from California
lol...could see some serious salting right about then.
4 wheelers are fools. Also do this to semi's.
@@gregorysagegreenelol a LOT of truck drivers out there that drive like complete a-holes. It goes both ways. Most Humans in general are pretty fn du-mb
Let us all please 🙏 bring back the word Retards 🎉
Stay safe truckers
Brings back memories...never want to repeat that.
Been up there in my semi in the summer.
It's nice, without the snow. 🚛🔥💨
Reminds me of growing up in Michigan's upper peninsula except with feet(s) of snow on the ground...white out blizzards!! Yep, upper Mid West folks are tough!!
Wow. That idiot too close behind the plow, and with no lights on.
Windswept plains.
That snow will be gone tomorrow. Chinook winds will clean it up.
Looks brutal
Brings back memories from 1990 - 1994.
The Spring of 1987 was a doozy.
I lived in Box Elder SD mid 80's
You and a couple other people
Yes! Mostly military except for civilians that worked on aircraft.
I never experienced this in my life. Does this happen every year?
Yes
I live in Kansas over Christmas holidays we looked like this, no one on the roads we stayed home, gave the plows time to clean the streets and highway off, to deadly to drive.
OMG
What part of "stay home" doesn't people or employers understand. Wouldn't you hate someone would die trying to make a business owner rich?
The irony of the person in car following the plow close enuff the salt spreader can sling salt hard enuff to crack their windshield.
Plow driver can not see them in his review mirrors...
Me, Northern Ontario.== GREEN CHRISTMAS!!! Kids NOT HAPPY!!
My family lives in box elder
Trains rule.
brutal. come on down to florida.
Plastic siding doesn’t provide much insulation value to a house.
Global Warming, damnit!
Believe it or not: 2023 was WORLDWIDE the hottest year since RECORDING TEMPS BEGAN. IN 1880.
@@a.florschutzcamplin9011 That is the biggest crock of BS the media has cranked out in a while. They were measuring the ground surface temps in 2023 as opposed to air temps as per forever. How hot does the ground get in the Sun? OH MY GAWD, WE'RE BOILING!!!
Don't crowd the plow
High winds and low visibility for sure, but "huge drifts?" Please. This is average for the upper Midwest. Where is your writer from? Miami?
really, you call this snow.......come on over to upstate NY.......lake effect & wind like no other!
Been there a few times during the winter never could figure out why people wanted to live there.
At least it only affected sparsely populated state.
The video is all over the place, you need better editing
