Got anything for legs I have a bad right knee and I'm looking for leg workout that won't leave me in tears from the pain in right knee I have a torn meniscus and sprained ACL that seems to never get better.

Tony F well no u don't but light weight will only increase water flow into the muscle it won't actually build dense muscle tissue u need heavyweight to break down muscle and successfully stimulate muscle regrowth and repair

no joke, i just got home from doing this like 15 minutes ago, im a big dude with pretty strong shoulders and i was struggling with 1 lb dumbells, very humbling workout indeed james i do have a question though, even though i made sure to stict to as strict of form as possible i feel this mostly in the front anterior portion of my arms, is that just normal for someone not used to doing posterior and lateral exercises just starting out?
Stevi's rock hard im decent all around bc i dont work out nearly as consitently as i should. My bench sucks though never could do more than 200 bc of damage to my rotator cuffs

Do you really train with light weights always? Because I saw other video and you used a 70 dumbell for a stand press shoulder with one arm. Or do you use heavyweights one day and lightweights for other routine?
Hi Luis. I used to train really heavy....but inevitably I would always end up injured. The funny thing is I've found that I get better results training the way I train now - with less brute force and more technique. Make no mistake about it though - this still feels heavy - you're just isolating the muscle more, without as much assistance from other muscles, so it still feels heavy. You're making that targeted muscle work harder on its own. So to answer your question, every once in awhile when I get around some of my friends, the ego comes out and I ended up breaking my discipline and train heavy with less than desirable technique.
Do we NEED to lift heavy to optimally build size tho? Will rep ranges of 20 10 10 15 be best for building size/mass? That's what I'm trying to figure out.
I would like to add that as a person who's worked out for 6 years these come super in handy, I follow all your workout routines and man do I get sore now, I'll be sore for like 3 days, I know it's working, great stuff (thumbs up)

Exactly u r right...but doing a 100 reps with 15 lbs wud give you cuts and detail in the muscle...but when u increase the weight it would help u increase the size of the muscle ..
Hey Michael. I go up when that weight is no longer a challenge at those rep ranges. As you get stronger, you'll naturally need to progress to heavier weights to keep challenging the muscle and forcing adaption. As long as you are always pushing yourself to that limit of what you can do (using good technique of course) the concept of "progressive overload" becomes very straightforward.
From my simple 5 years of experience, I totally agree with you. Those tips are the best that work for my body. I got a lot of talking at the gym but I didn't listen to anyone anymore because I found what best for me. Hey James, isn't doing a single arm to double arm super set not the greatest idea for shoulders ? Because after you finish your side laterals for your left shoulder on the cable you're immediately going to side laterals again with your left shoulder while the whole time your right shoulder has been at rest.

I personally like to move quickly through my workouts because I only have about 40 minutes to train, so that's why I superset with minimal rest between. It really comes down to how much time you have and how intense you want to make the workout.

Arsalan Aslam The Idea of Supset is to go back and forth between exercises with No rest. But as you progress through your workout especially with working a muscle with three parts, taking a min. rest or so wont hurt. But traditional superset is no rest between.

Good video, but I do find it hard to believe that you built your impressive shoulders using just 25 lb dumbbells on the presses. Are those the actual weights you use, or just for demonstration?

Gave this a go today. Man i saw its impact right away. Usualy have to work much harder to see and feel the same results. Saved me from my stupid routine which left my shoulder hurting deep. Also great point about anterior delts. I feel them working in allot of other workouts so its redundant to work them in, and leaves them healthier for chest day. Thanks again to my new coach.

Took a few weeks to get up to speed on this workout and I still struggle to get through it but thats the point. Been doing this for 11-12 weeks and I got great results, and the mental processes have improved to other body parts and I am getting better results there too. Thanks for sharing this, it has made a big difference for me. Nothing motivates you more than results.

James I’m a 58 year old man who’s been lifting on and off all my life . For about 2 months I’ve been following your 20, 10, 10, 15 reps per set and leg work out which is a little different. I can see development in all muscle groups and a loss in body fat that has me ecstatic since light weight high reps burns more body fat and calories. I watch your videos before each work out to make sure I don’t forget anything before I do it. Love the light weight leaving your ego at the gym door bud. From my position in life, you can take a 58 Chevy, put a new interior, new motor, rear, tranny, wheels and so on but the reality with me is the frame is still old, so why stress it? Thank you for making these videos . Wish I had such advice when I was a young man but better late than never and it’s working for me 👍

In a busy gym, you can forget about being able to do supersets with different equipments.
Uouttooo this is why I lift at 2 in the morning.
Just ask the person that's using what you want, can I get in between sets?
If not possible then I think it's still good to just finish one exercise and move to the next, instead of mixing them.

I noticed this also, doesn't this lead to asymmetrical development unless you alternate sides (and have an even number of supersets)?
Do 1 arm cable supersetted with 1 arm dumbell then next arm.
My understanding was you do cable raises with each arm, then move to dumbells.

Arsalan Aslam The Idea of Supset is to go back and forth between exercises with No rest. But as you progress through your workout especially with working a muscle with three parts, taking a min. rest or so wont hurt. But traditional superset is no rest between.

I'm a woman with Dystonia in my neck that's been affecting my shoulders . 2 months of P.T. wasn't nearly as effective as the last week since I discovered James videos ! Good video, but I do find it hard to believe that you built your impressive shoulders using just 25 lb dumbbells on the presses. Are those the actual weights you use, or just for demonstration?

Gave this a go today. Man i saw its impact right away. Usualy have to work much harder to see and feel the same results. Saved me from my stupid routine which left my shoulder hurting deep. Also great point about anterior delts. I feel them working in allot of other workouts so its redundant to work them in, and leaves them healthier for chest day. Thanks again to my new coach.

Took a few weeks to get up to speed on this workout and I still struggle to get through it but thats the point. Been doing this for 11-12 weeks and I got great results, and the mental processes have improved to other body parts and I am getting better results there too. Thanks for sharing this, it has made a big difference for me. Nothing motivates you more than results.

I decided to try this out. On the first go at it, great results! BURN, too, and definitely causes a sweat. I've been doing it now for about 3 weeks and I'm already seeing a significant gain in my shoulders (which has always been difficult for me). Thanks James!

Mate I love this style of training.i have been training for 20years now and after trying these routines this week,I can definitely say I love the moves,and I love the rep ranges.its spot on.in the past I've tried a few other you tube training routines or online etc to break the routine,and I've always had to do more at the end or just bin it off and walk away.i not only like this,I will stick to using it for the foreseeable future.it totally clicks for me,it's been a long time since my arms were this ragged.its nice to know I've found a plan that works that's explained properly down to the smallest detail scientifically,and demonstrated properly to assure it's understood.mate honestly I've been at this along time myself and it's refreshing to see someone like yourself who's passionate enough to go all out,and not just list a load of exercises that everyone does anyway.and from a personal point of view,thank you because you have just saved my training this week.was getting frustrated with nothing new.but this has got me right back on my game.that rep range as well....pure brilliance mate.encourage anyone to follow this plan.no bullshit,no selling shit with 'one sip of this shake will get you huge'. Thanks for letting me know why I don't like to sit when doing dumbbell presses. I will be training from the rear to the front from now on.

James I’m a 58 year old man who’s been lifting on and off all my life . For about 2 months I’ve been following your 20, 10, 10, 15 reps per set and leg work out which is a little different.
I can see development in all muscle groups and a loss in body fat that has me ecstatic since light weight high reps burns more body fat and calories.
I watch your videos before each work out to make sure I don’t forget anything before I do it.
Love the light weight leaving your ego at the gym door bud.
From my position in life, you can take a 58 Chevy, put a new interior, new motor, rear, tranny, wheels and so on but the reality with me is the frame is still old, so why stress it?

As an advanced BB I really enjoyed the theory about starting with rear Delt and I'm not happy with my rear delt compared to rest of delts- great video and approach
