I dont mean to be off topic but does someone know a method to get back into an instagram account?? I was dumb forgot the account password. I would love any help you can give me!
@Drake Noah Thanks for your reply. I found the site through google and Im trying it out now. Seems to take quite some time so I will reply here later with my results.
How embarrassing for the “doctors” in that audience to laugh in the face of credible science. And how illuminating to the viewer of the skepticism we should hold against the medical community. Thank you for your courageous work.
im pretty sure they are embarrassed of their own action now that since are doctors ( pretty arrogant species of human) everything that they thought was a joke turns our to be true! Anyway, Kudos to Dr. Fung for a great lecture and giving hope for all diabetic to not have to be dependent to medicine for the rest of their life and they have a choice of how to live their life.
They don't take a single statistics or logic course, they don't really know anything about science. Some of the many benefits of fasting and a lower carb whole food diet on the immune system, blood pressure, blood sugar and anti-aging, all backed up by clinical data: The hunger hormone ghrelin lowers over time with extended fasting and rise from dieting Thymus stem cells are regenerated, which suppresses aging and renews the immune system. Fasting stimulates phagocytosis, the ingestion of bacteria and viruses by the immune system. Blood pressure is quickly and dramatically lowered, which is very important for a good outcome with the current pandemic. Blood sugar and insulin are lowered, allowing white blood cells to move more freely throughout the body and do their job. Ideal blood sugar is around 80. No, it never uses mainly glucose for fuel and using glucose for fuel is very biochemically damaging! ua-cam.com/video/Nf1jwMbvNxw/v-deo.html The hormone Leptin is an immunomodulator that keeps the body from attacking itself and obesity causes leptin resistance. Fasting very quickly reduces leptin resistance and leptin levels and one day of fasting can cut your leptin levels in half and gets your immune system working properly again! Is fasting just the same as caloric restriction? No! Dieting increases the hunger hormone ghrelin while fasting decreases it and has many other health benefits! ua-cam.com/video/sVl-nilhWLc/v-deo.html When you move out of MTOR your body shuts down the building blocks of the cell which are used to produce organelles and proteins. This means the mechanisms needed by viruses to replicate are by and large unavailable when you are in a deeply fasted state. It stimulates the AMPK complex and activates autophagy. Autophagy (literally self eating) will cause cells to recycle foreign matter such as viruses and kill cancerous and senescent cells. AMPK does many helpful things in the body including activating the body's antioxidant defenses. Does fasting burn muscle? In most cases no! ua-cam.com/video/teQIaU6wp2o/v-deo.html Fasting can make you gain muscle faster: ua-cam.com/video/5RM8GRzsIIg/v-deo.html Deep ketosis virtually eliminates chronic inflammation in the body. This can offset the life threatening symptoms of viral pneumonia which effectively kills you through inflammation. This also creates BHB ketones in your body, which also help your immune system and anti-oxidative system, especially in the brain. Ketones also provide an additional energy source during infection, which is critical when trying to fight off a bug. In fact you can have as much as three times the total energy available in your blood when you are in deep ketosis, or even more. It increases mitochondrial function and repairs mitichondrial DNA, leading to improved ATP production and oxygen efficiency and thereby making cells better able to fight off infection. Increased mitochondrial function also has the added benefit of increasing your metabolism and cancer prevention! Fasts from 36-96 h actually INCREASE metabolic rate! ua-cam.com/video/BeC_gIR2Z14/v-deo.html Your body releases interferon which is also triggered by the body during viral attacks to shut down the replication ability of the surrounding cells and stop infections. After 72 hours or more fasted, your body actually recycles large numbers of immune bodies and creates new ones, rejuvenating your entire system. When you fast, this stimulates apoptosis in senescent or genetically damaged cells. This kills these cells off completely. Senescent cells are responsible for the effects of aging and are the root cause of the development of cancer. If it were possible to destroy them all it would completely stop aging and cancer. That is not possible but fasting can help limit these effects by killing off many of the affected cells and limiting the future effects of aging. Fasting also releases BDNF and NGF in the blood which stimulates new nerve and brain cell growth, helping a great deal with diseases like MS, peripheral neuropathy and Alzheimers. In fact, the biochemical regulator of BDNF production is beta-hydroxybutyrate, which is the same ketone the body produces to nourish the brain while fasting. Autophagy induced by fasting even helps hair regrow. What breaks a fast? ua-cam.com/video/7aRLsCpxy3o/v-deo.html Dieters losing weight through intermittent fasting show greater reduction in waist size and increase in insulin sensitivity for the same weight lost and alternate day fasters were shown to lose fat while gaining muscle at the same time over a six month period. Does fasting lower testosterone? No, it raises it and builds muscle! ua-cam.com/video/fJUDucBWv4s/v-deo.html Fasting has been shown to increase bone marrow volume by 10% and levels of carnosine in the body in as little as a few weeks. Fasting also increases telomere length, negating some of the effects of aging at a cellular level. Eating one meal a day can bring most of these benefits to a lesser degree, and adding a few entire days off from eating per week will have even more effect especially when starting to feel poorly. Exogenous ketones can aid with fasting, making it easier in healthy people and allowing some people with specific issues to fast in spite of them without worrying as much about hypoglycemia. Children, pregnant or nursing women should not fast for periods longer than 16 hours. People with pancreatic tumors or certain forms of hypoglycemia generally cannot fast at all. Type 1 diabetics can also fast but it is more complicated and should be approached with caution as it could lead to ketoacidosis. Those with Addison's disease may also be unable to fast without liberal use of exogenous ketones, depending on severity. If you experience extreme symptoms of some kind, especially dizziness then simply break the fast and seek advice. 47:47 -- As a physician myself, I have to say that Dr. Jason Fung is WAYYYY beyond his time. This is why. New guidelines recommend NOT initiating feeds within the first 7 days of ICU stay. This is "High Value Care" just recently published and made STANDARD to the highest level. Wow! Way to go Jason Fung!! (ps, renal guys ARE the smartest)
Wow, very rude audience. Dr. Fung is so courteous and unassuming and did his best to rein them in. He needs a better venue to promote his wonderful theory. Hopefully his book will be a huge success.
yes they are and so are the socially inept people who think that conventional diets work...they fail to understand that we diabetics cannot metabolize our food...and continue to follow the normal guidelines to assess a completely abnormal situation.
I concur......rude hecklers. I be interested if any of those doctors he was presenting the talk too offer this advice to their patients. I doubt it! Good for Dr Fung to realize the present treatment for diabetes from a general practitioner is only speeding up the disease complications and he researched and found the cause and now treats the cause of diabetes.
The audience didn't seem to take it seriously at any point and then were just straight up heckling him. They should have remembered their questions and then asked them at the end rather than interrupting his train of thought randomly. These are probably the people who have been doing the opposite of what he's teaching, essentially screwing over their patients.
Why couldn't the audience wait for him to finish the presentation and than ask him the questions. I found their interruptions annoying and it stopped the flow for the rest of us watching. He makes a lot of sense and am so happy that he's educating us all about diabetes, thank you Jason Fung....
Dr. Fung's passion in finding a cure or reversing diabetes is a blessing for those who are obese or diabetic. He's explaining and answering questions that I have been asking several Endocrinologist who talked around it and ignored. I couldn't get a straight answer till now. Thank-you and GOD bless you Dr. JASON FUNG.
Jason, as a person I am so proud to know that you were courageous in front of all of your peers to bring vitally important information out to the masses. Whether they accepted or rejected your thoughts the proof is there are lots of people that are reversing their diabetes and weight. All they have to do is look at the examples! I am so glad that a person like you took the risk to let others know about this and how to achieve it. That makes me extremely proud of you for sharing your thoughts to the masses. Keep up the great work you are doing and don't let the naysayers slow you down. What you are doing/showing is awesome. Thank you so much for the chance to regain a healthy life. Your awesome!!
Wow! Tough Crowd of your peers! You handled yourself professionally and sincerely. It is obvious you take the Hippocratic Oath seriously... as YOU showed you have more empathy and compassion towards your patients than many of your audience of doctors (who are only concerned about their jobs if everyone gets well!). This was five years ago... who's laughing now? I'm very proud of your work and am in the process of lowering my insulin and ridding myself of insulin resistance, thanks to your willingness to discover and reveal the truth! Thank You, Dr. Fung!
its funny because the members of the audience are so naive they are treating him like he is stupid when in fact i would consider him the leading expert on obesity. I have read his book the Obesity Code. Absolutely scientific and logical. We must not give in to cognitive dissonance. I have been helped a lot by his work. Still a work in progress but I will be where I want to be soon.
+Sainesan Naiker the thing that bothered me most about the audience was that they are doctors treating diabetics, and their callousness to their patients was a little shocking. If someone gave me reasonable evidence that I was killing my patients, I'd be in shock and remorse and I'd certainly be paying rapt attention, not cracking jokes that interfered with the talk
Yeah, you would think at the minimum it would be worth listening to the guy and mulling it over. Instead, some of them seemed to not care all that much that Dr. Fung's hypothesis is saying that the current manner of treating diabetes (directly) and obesity (correlative) is wrong and only exacerbating the patient's problem. Kind of heavy stuff to be so dismissive considering these are peoples' lives they are playing with.
thank you Dr . I started fasting because I found your UA-cam videos I have type 2 diabetes I'm actually fasting 20 hours a day now and the weight is falling off and my a1c is reversing and my meter show in the 80's all I can say is thank you. I have seen so many family members die from complications with diabetes
datno hi >>>>So happy you have an open mind to learn from Jason! I talk to Type 2 people everyday at work....they won't listen....They trust their Dr. So sad...they lost feeling in their feet!
+mary maryk I think your co workers don't want to give up their desserts. I just went to the funeral of a diabetic friend who would put her sugar pills right next to the piece of cake she was going to eat after her lunch! She thought it was supposed to work that way.

The daughter of a friend of mine recently lost both her legs. Alas, the good news of Fasting as a real cure for Diabetes II never got to her. We need to spread it! I'm terribly excited and happy at the changes I feel and notice after only four days of fasting!
I have type II diabetes and after visiting my Diabetic Nurse for a few years, and resisting statins for cholesterol, I believe in helping myself rather than taking medication. I am so pleased to have come across your video, and am 'educating' myself with your professional help. Thank you very much Dr. Fung.
Excellent video content! Excuse me for the intrusion, I would appreciate your initial thoughts. Have you thought about - Patlarny Sugar Outcome Principle (do a google search)? It is a great exclusive product for reversing diabetes minus the normal expense. Ive heard some extraordinary things about it and my close friend Aubrey at last got cool success with it.
Thank you my dear dr Jason. I followed your lectures on intermittent fasting. I was diabetic for the last 12 treats and lately was on metformin 1 gm bid and amaryl 4 mg daily and yet my fasting was always above 200 mg and my triglycerides was 400 and above and my HDL was less than 30. I was pretty much risky for cardiovascular complications. I was always tired and had body aches in the morning plus joint pain as well. It is now 5 months since I followed your protocol of intermittent fasting ( 16/8) hours and now I am off medications and my fasting always around 140 mg and my triglycerides is bellow 200 mg. I can say I am functionally cured after losing weight from 68 kg to 60 kg. I am a medical doctor practicing in a private clinic in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia and am advising your protocol to all diabetic clients attending my clinic and most are more than happy. Thank you for saving our life and millions in the world next to God . You deserve a noble prize for this finding. Thank you once again and advice to continue your lectures worldwide basis in the form of seminar because access to internet is minimal to most health professionals in developing countries like us
Yes, diabetes is a curable disease. Diabetes is essentially a dietary disease but most 'experts' use drugs to cure it. By necessity, it requires dietary therapy, but because diabetes is often decades in the making, it generally requires a prolonged dietary treatment. You can follow HOMA as a measure of insulin resistance to guide therapy
Thank you! Only this month I have discovered your valuable information. However, I am thankful to one of my doctor's who about 3-4 years ago ordered for me only one blood test - HOMA- IR index. It was elevated. Howerer , usually my blood level was normal and my other doctors' were telling me that everything is fine. As a lay person I started experimenting with my diet, low GI foods and it took me about 3 years to get HOMA in normal range. Now I have started studies in medicine. Your information would have helped me to get HOMA in normal range much earlier.
Jason Fung I'm a diabetic I'm binge watching you for a month. I just completed a IF for 30 days. No weight loss. I'm so frustrated because I want to water fast, but I am afraid. I've had severe muscle cramping and now take multiple forms of magnesium. I don't know what else to do.
Hmm, if you're already in the red with your electrolytes you'll have to start using supplements from the beginning but a two day or 3 day fast shouldn't be much of a problem. If you need any help regarding fasting, you might want to check out r/fasting :Ü™
if once person already reverse his diabetes can he consume sugar/carbohydrates again in moderation? dr.fung pls help me im so stress and bothered about my situation i have fatty liver too help me with my situation doc im from philippines. im doing keto diet now and for 16 hours of fasting. i really need to cure this for my two young kids.
Hi! I want to know diabetes curable or remission/reversible. If curable that's patient take every foods when he cure from diabetes. If patient owners thin or Weight loss as BMI .He can follow your formula?
Dr. Jason Fung... Sir you have just blown me away! What a fantastic lecure: evidence based and so well delivered and absolutely true. This needs to get out to all diabetics and their physicians.

Dear Jason, I'm so glad I discovered your lectures on UA-cam. I have Type 2 Diabetes and have been fasting for 5 days now and will be moving to intermittent fasting. I have never felt better and have lost 7 pounds ! Can't thank you enough !
Thank you for this information Dr Fung. Can't believe an audience can be so rude and unprofessional. Why are they there in the first place. Wish you can block out their noise.
Now I understand why you have your info online because other doctors do not take this seriously. No matter because you help people all over the world with your amazing research. Thank you.
Dr. Fung does a very good job at staying on message. Especially since there was a lot of distractive questions and disrespect by those in the room who wanted to make arguments! This subject matter is important and Fung should have been allowed to give his full presentation with the results of his research without the disrespectful distractions! The other distraction was in how the video was put together. I think if they had the info board as the background and a window within a white space of the slide, this could gotten rid of the outside traffic, waiters and disappearing behind the info slide board.
It is my 1 month in intermittent fasting .... Made me like my physical appearance more...I lost fats on my face and my uniform needs to be fix cz I am getting smaller..
Now looking at this video - January 2020 ----- What a difference 'several' years have made. The 'disrespect' of the audience has turned into listening to Dr. Fung and others discussing a cure to type 2 diabetes. What a turnabout in things!!!
"They" are so short-sighted or perhaps lazy because if they "cured" this disease there is always another lurking around the corner to cure especially since the production of our food supply is so compromised. But that requires hard work and commitment, something in short supply in today's population.
I wouldn’t want one of those doctors in the audience as my doctor. Very few serious questions it was all joking. I have a joke; how many doctors does it take to cure diabetes. One, dr. Fung.
Wow Dr Jason you are so calm and persistent, you not even once let them stop you.Good job... I am v grateful to God for your work it has made things so v simple for me.thank you 😊 God bless.
I started intermittent fasting on the 13th of this month and weighed in at 174.4 lbs. and 42.5 inches around my belly.....Today is the 18th and I weighed 164.4 lbs. and 40.0 inches around my belly. Dr. Fung is an amazing person and I credit him for my new way of looking at food.
Thank you, Dr. Fung! This was a great presentation and really shows clinically relevant results to drive home the harm of insulin. I'm Type 2 diabetic as of last October. The first 3 months I was on insulin, my sugars were extremely well controlled, but very quickly my blood sugar response started to lessen and lessen - and of course my endocrinologist immediately raised my insulin doses. My wife started intermittent fasting and was having great success, so I started it as well. I've lost 15 lbs in 2 weeks (only IF for about 5 days of that), but the real amazing thing is my blood sugar has been rock stable and i haven't taken any insulin in 10 days.
Bravo Dr. Fung! the world desperately needs more MDs like you and fewer of the type in your audience that evening. While using my quality ear buds I could hear the comments being made by some of the MDs.
Dr. Fung as a nurse you changed the way I look at insulin and it’s effect on the body. Those laughing clueless hyenas in the background are so rude and distracting one day they will discover what you are teaching is true. Please continue to make videos to educate people.
I was diagnosed to be pre-diabetes. The doctors laughed at me like I would be going to die miserablely. Yet, these doctor did not even know they were the cause of killing people out of their ignorance. Like, great minds questions everything was taught, average one follows what was taught. How many people Dr. FUNG HAS SAVED in this world already and is going to save because of him.
Explains why my mother died so young... thank you Dr. Fung for sharing this valuable information to help people like myself who have a higher chance of developing type 2 diabetes to overcome and have quality of life.
Great information for T2D's. I WAS a previous T2D for about 3 yrs after a suffering a serious spinal injury almost 11 yrs ago still eating a bodybuilders diet. This caused me to put on 35 lbs very quickly. Today, with a proper human diet - now a commited 56 YR OLD LCHF "Ketovore" for 12 months now. I'm somewhat fasting basically every day with OMAD, IF HUNGRY @ 2-3 PM, I will eat. If not hungry, I just wait till the next day. 3-4 cups of black coffee with butter & keto drops in the morning, sometimes a splash of heavy cream. Water with keto drops throughout the day. Rarely get hungry anymore, lost 50LBS within first 8 months. These last 4 months, about 6 LBS loss every 60 Days. A1C, 5.3. These last seven years, A1C has been below 6 with just cancelling bread, grains, and keeping carbs below 30GR a day. Fasting is a great tool. Just wanted to share.
@@hifthishana3161Yes. Most days between 0-15g. Still workout 6 days a week as well. I eat right, move and lift heavy things. This change almost 4yrs in has worked wonders for me personally. Hope this helped.
So rude that audience just eating while Dr. Fung was giving such a vital information. People there just care about eating. Thank you Dr. Fung for your endurance and concentration.
Dear Dr. Fung I have have been IFing for 60 days and my A1C is 5.2 down from 10.6. Your concepts are so solid and on point, that I am shocked at the medical advice I was getting from my doctors/Diabetic clinics, etc. Thank you so much for putting your message out there. I also bought your book on fasting, as I feel I owe you at least a “co-pay” for changing my life!!
Why does no one tell us about him? I had to search and search and I found his cure, so many teens like me are scared for our lives and I love this man as if I know him for putting this out. I’m going to start tomorrow and I’m amazed at how underrated he is
My doctor mentioned fasting and I thought she was nuts. I checked You Tube and found some information and tried it. Now I have friends joining me, we email our fabulous results and maybe we will get I Luv Fung shirts! Dr Fung you are BRILLIANT
Wow dude, as a young person I'm so shocked at how incredibly rude these medical "professionals" are during this lecture. Seriously I can understand asking questions in a polite manner, or disagreeing in a respectful tone. I just don't understand how they can literally laugh at the idea of possibly curing those with diabetes, simply because they will what? Lose their jobs? Lose the cash? It's insane and scary how most medical professionals can be, it's no longer about saving lives, it's hey the sicker the better so I can go home with a big fat check. I would of thought their minds would at least be more open, but I guess all that money can stuff the mind after awhile. Thanks Dr. Fung for going against the medical norm, keep on going, as long as we have people like you, we can actually help people little by little👍🏼
Thank you Dr. Fung! I'm an RN for the past 29 years and you really opened my eyes to how Type 2 Diabetes should be treated. I am a type 2 Diabetic myself and was diagnosed with it when I was 41 and I'm now 53. My doctor started me out on Metformin, the Diabetes progressively got worse and he added Glipizide. Last November my A1C was 8.9 and he wanted to start me on insulin. I did my research and started a low carb diet in January of this year which I eventually tweeked into the Ketogenic diet. I have lost 45 pounds and my A1C is now down to 6.1. I found your videos back in April and started Intermittent Fasting along with keto. I do the 8/16 schedule daily. I've been feeling fantastic except that I had a mini stroke on 7/14/17 that I thought was only a TIA as it only lasted 5 minutes but it was an actual Ischemic stroke. I don't have HTN so I was shocked. Of course all the doctors, including mine, said it must be my diet but I don't agree because my triglycerides were 88, my LDL was 124 and HDL was 45. They started me on 80mg of Lipitor daily and I decided not to take it after reading all the toxic effects. They also discovered I had a PFO and so I'm wondering if it was due to a small clot passing through the PFO. Anyway, my point is that I'm now afraid to continue with the saturated fats but the more research I do the more I believe in the Ketogenic diet with IF for treating Diabetes. Also, after watching this video I'm going to ask my doctor to take me off of Glipizide and I'll just stay with Metformin. Thanks for giving all us type 2 diabetics the answer to curing this disease. I want to ask you if you think I should steer away from the saturated fats? Anyway, I think you're genius! I will update you when I cure myself of this disease! Thanks again!
Best thing I’ve watched re diabetes, I’m type 2 on insulin, started keto 9 months ago, down from 87 kilos to 76 kilos, the way I’m travelling I hope to be off the insulin.
One interesting comment from the audience was "how do you get people to do it". Once you see fasting work you will do it. I believe and hope that this is the beginning
Thank you for the video, Dr. Jason Fung. Unfortunately, many patients are being educated by their dietitians with the conventional food pyramid and easily prescribed insulin when they actually have insulin insensitivity
Hasanah CI >>>>>Yes....I had every symptom of "insulin resistance"....but my Dr. never asked those questions. She rolled her eyes when I went "gluten-free"😠
This doctor seems very intelligent. (Unfortunately I can't say the same for his audience.) He's describing my sister's issues exactly. She is very overweight, has water retention issues, elevated sodium levels, and hypertension, and was also recently diagnosed with heart failure. We don't live close to each other so I get most of my information from my mom when we talk on the phone. I can't believe insulin hasn't come up in these conversations. Well, I'm about to change that!
Dr. Fung.. you are the best at understanding and explaining insulin resistance and I also love you fasting videos . I wish you could get much more attention.
16:20 "Exposure to high insulin levels more than doubles the risk of death" < All one needs to know about insulin treatments when it comes to Type2. Go #keto
I have been walking 2 miles per day and I have been doing fasting from 6:30 pm till noon everyday and since May I have lost 12 pounds. My sugar level is normal (94). and am still taking my meds. Hope to lose more.
Thanks for the very informative talk. Great lecture! I'm not a diabetic. I'm on low carbs diet and I'm in nutritional ketosis. I've been fasting for last 5 days. Day 3&4 was quite difficult, but today I feel great. I don't feel hungry at all and I have lots of energy. I work 10h shifts and go for morning runs + strenght exercise/pull ups, push ups, etc. I was planning to finish my fast at day 6, but I might just continue until I loose few more kilograms. I've started with weight of 76.6kg, today 72.8kg
Thank you very much for sharing Dr. Fung. You are very brave. Be encouraged and keep sharing. Many people will understand what you are sharing and will be healed. You are an answer to many prayers. You deserve a noble prize! We love ❤️ you Doc.
How unfortunate that Dr. Fung's lectures to patients and people are much better received and understood than this lecture to his peers. We want to be helped, they don't care. Thank you Dr. Fung for helping US.
Thank you so much Dr. Fung for forging ahead & studying a path of original thought. Sharing your conclusions will definitely help so many people. Unfortunately you presented this information to a group of extremely rude people.
Faahsting.......absolutely love his accent. I'm faahstly becoming a huge fan of this man. And I agree........the audience SUX! Dr Fung was gracious and as eloquent as always. God only knows how he did it.
Such an informative speaker. Thank you Dr Fung. I find it unfortunate the general audience of Professionals were resistant and making light of the concepts. The back ground noises of dishes clanging and people talking did not seem to interrupt your delivery of the information. Very well done. I am practicing and sharing your recommendations with good results.
This is such an enlightening lecture. I knew, from my own exposure to books and lectures concerning the efficacy of low carb diets, that insulin was the primary driver of fat storage, and by reducing carbohydrate intake, you reduce insulin, thereby inducing fat loss. However, I never thought that cellular damage itself was the product of elevated insulin, but instead I mistakenly thought that such damage was solely attributable to high blood glucose levels, which the higher insulin levels were produced to ameliorate. I never thought that high insulin levels were also an equal player in cellular damage. Thank you so much for sharing this information Dr. Fung. This just makes me that much more confident that the low carb dietary approach, which I have adopted, not only produces great weight loss, but is a good overall strategy to improve health. Now I need to include fasting to my routine to help with insulin sensitivity, and further reduce insulin levels, as you have advised.
Posting in an old school Drake Santiago comment! Fasting increases nitric oxide, which has manifold postive effects like reducing arterial plaque. Weight loss from fasting only loses10% lean tissue and 90% fat compared to the typical 25% lean tissue and 75% fat lost when calorically restricting for long periods. Blood clotting is reduced and blood clots and arterial plaque are reabsorbed into the body. Vitamin D plasma levels are increased, and vitamin D in turn increases autophagy! Blood sugar and insulin are lowered, allowing white blood cells to move more freely throughout the body and do their job. Ideal blood sugar is around 80. Some viruses activate glycolosis (the release of sugar in the body) and clinically it has been shown that decreasing glucose metabolism in the body weakens the influenza virus. Fasts of several days will not affect short term female fertility and may increase long term fertility especially in women with PCOS. It's absolutely fine for cortisol to be high while fasting, because it produces sugar from fat instead of lean tissue ua-cam.com/video/giEDadzoErs/v-deo.html Does the body prefernetially prefer glucose as a fuel? The audience sucked so hard. It's a planned talk, there is a structure. Everyone was crazy disrespectful, especially that one lady. And there was also a dude demanding he explain certain things. And these are supposed to be educated, somewhat civil people. Not so much. Those people are the small minded obstacles always present when someone is trying to effect positive change. They are like pebbles on the runway for better, actually helpful people.
Sounds like a typical group of colleagues to me and I found it very illuminating how many seemed shocked by such obvious information. The one guy kept asking “ya, but how do you get someone to do it?” Um, dingus, when you’re sick and unhappy and a doctor offers you a simply solution, you try it. It’s waaaay easier to eat three healthy meals between 8-6pm (rather than the steady flow of food we’ve been told is healthy) and follow a fasting regime once in a while then it is to monitor your blood sugar 8-10 times a day and inject yourself with copious amounts of insulin that makes you feel fat and horrible. How insulting is it to assume that people want to be sick or have diabetes? Asshat. I ❤️ Dr. Fung because he knows this and actually helps people.
If you are interested in diabetes the best success that i've ever had was by using the Diabetes Crusher Tactic (just google it) definately the no.1 course that I have ever tried.
Cheers for the Video! Forgive me for butting in, I would appreciate your thoughts. Have you researched - Patlarny Sugar Outcome Principle (probably on Google)? It is a great exclusive guide for reversing diabetes without the hard work. Ive heard some decent things about it and my m8 after many years got excellent results with it.
Dear Dr. Fung. My respect . I am really want to follow your process but with the direct guidance. I just this week came to now my glucose level is 12.7 . Right now i am in china working . I dont want to start medicine . I do 30 minutes walk on trade mil and 1 hour yoga in the morning . I tried to go your site but I have no credit card so i cant register .I have normal cards. what to do please guide . Thanks and regards
Thank you for this very good guidance based on clear logic and sound science. Amazing how simple it can be to improve over the illogical standard of care.
Dr. Fung - I apologize for the arrogant disrespect these "physicians" gave you during this presentation. I am sure they disrespect their patients as well by not listening to their questions and concerns and instead blindly follow big pharma's research and recommendations. The truth is, they would be out of a job if their patients followed protocols like yours that cured their patients. Why do that when you can give them a few pills which in turn cause more disease and complications that result in more pills and office visits? Regardless - I was spellbound by the science you presented which validates what I know to be true. Thank you so much, you deserve a Nobel Prize!
This was a great lecture. I wish that he would have straightened his audience out or edit them. They were quite rude and some quite seemingly ignorant.he should lecture next time where this info and research is appreciated.
Dr Fung is so professional and soft spoken though the audience is so rude but he maintained professionalism, refused not to be distracted by those idiots.thank u doctor fung.
Fasting protocols are individualized. A standard protocol for diabetes would be the alternate day fast (ADF), say for either 24 or 48 hours. Sugars need to be carefully monitored as there is a risk of low blood sugar. In my clinic, I follow patients weekly. For more information visit my website: kidneylifescience.ca/drjasonfung. On that site, you may also contact me directly.
The people in the back ground our vary rude. They are a distraction when I'm trying to listen to you . I'm gonna watch this again . You always have such great information. I really enjoy your videos. You are so intelligent. Thank you so much.
That one female doctor that said "as long as people are eating I will stay in business" just shows most of these doctors don't give 2 shits about making their patients better. My mouth dropped when I heard that. Also the closed mind of most of the medical community was on full display in this lecture. Dr. Fun keep doing what you are doing. Your talks, your books have helped me in this short journey of mines with T2D. I will explain further a little later on. Middle of shopping now. Thank you once again Dr. Fung.
Outstanding job Doc, you stayed consistent and composed, though you had the rudest audience ever; Outside of them, this is my favorite video of yours thus far. Thanks too for your books. Have read only the Obesity Code. Glad I found your through Dr E Berg. Keep up the great work, your work is life changing.
Meeting DrFung is in my bucket list, this Doctor is my hero, if I was there i would kick all those rude guests out... I mean Comment, what DrFung is explaining is the true science, not medical / Big Pharma fake school science. Thank you DrFung..you are a Master.
Thank you Dr. Fung, your work in this field is unparalleled. It is highly significant that arteriosclerosis is actually a dietary related disease! The atheroma plaque has its own insulin receptors, and as a result of high levels of insulin, inflammation is the result! This hypotesis is worth while to investigate in great detail!! Please keep up the good work!
Dr. Fung, you are a champion for putting up with these rude people. Thank you for providing so much information on IF. I started with 16/8 IF, now I always do 24/ one meal a day Keto after two months I have done one 48hr and felt awesome. Being type 2 and obese I look forward to seeing the results. I just heard that lady say as long as there is food I’ll stay in business. She laughed, she’s happy to kill her patients, it’s so sad!
Agreed, a fantastic presentation. It obviously takes place in a restaurant. And I strongly suspect that the audience is largely other medical professionals, or possibly even "peers." This helps explain the relaxed atmosphere, which a generic audience might consider brash.
Wow it sounded to me like some of the audience didn't believe or take your lecture seriously, they seemed to be laughing it all off. Kind of rude sounding to me.
Hi David. I am accepting new patients. For more information you can visit me on my website. I don't recommend fasting without medical supervision due to the risk of low blood sugars. However, I think you are on the right track to curing your diabetes. Just remember that Diabetes is a dietary disease and must require a dietary cure, NOT more drugs.
Great presentation Dr. Fung. You've handled your annoying audience well with much grace - perhaps you can please instruct people to hold Q/A for the end of the presentation for the rest of us. I'm not diabetic but my glucose level has been going up steadily over the years very slowly, last measuring at 110 (fasting). Not quiet diabetic yet, but I know I've been experiencing symptoms of prologned glucotoxicity - memory degradation, mental fogginess, skin rashes, etc. Of everything I've tried over the last few decades, one thing I haven't tried is intermittent fasting because I'm very thin (115 lbs) to begin with and didn't want to lose weight. However, I'm going to give this a try before I get diagnosed as diabetic. Thanks again for sharing your knowledge.
2bluema Hi. I am intermittent fasting and I don't want to lose weight. (I am also hyperthyroid). I was fasting using the "window " technique between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. I found that you do need to eat a relatively high carbohydrate meal with fiber for the last meal of your day, and it is probably better to end fasting later in the day such as 5:30 or 6:30 or later to avoid triggering early morning blood sugar spikes. Intermittent fasting is a reset mechanism, but getting off junk food and learning to eat healthy carbs, fats, and protein is also part of the process.
Gloria Cole Fiber definitely helps with insulin sensitivity - I've learnt this lesson after juicing for a while and experiencing trouble about a decade ago. Now I blend to keep all the raw veg and low-sugar fruit fiber. I've never eaten too much junk food, and I have to limit all carb as instructed by my Dr. to control my glucose level. I am gluten-sensitive and tend to gear toward ketogenic diet. Other than occasional random glucose spikes (with my own glucose meter, especially when I'm stressed), I'm back down to mostly low 90s for my fasting glucose level.
Dr. Fung now has many awesome presentations with much better audiences. You can go deep into the science along with him or watch a step by step guide tp prevent metabolic syndrome. As the history has shown we sure got it all wrong. Thanks for your hard work and caring for people who struggle Dr Fung
I have been listening to Dr. Fung about fasting and lowering your sugar. I have been fasting on and off for the past week and my sugar is now 150. Sure it probably will go up if I eat but now I must watch the carbs...This works. I also lost some weight in the week as I got back into my size 10s...
Hi greg - I think that there is insulin receptor down regulation in response to high levels. This is a physiologic response. This is not dysregulated signalling. I think that insulin receptor density is likely reduced in all tissues - muscle, liver and adipose.
Hi doctor ,I have been watching your presentations regarding obesity and type 2 diabetes. I have been recently diagnosed with type 2 diabetes ,do you have any program I can join?

Sir I ordered your book over a month and still haven’t received it.
I dont mean to be off topic but does someone know a method to get back into an instagram account??
I was dumb forgot the account password. I would love any help you can give me!
@Maximilian Jesse Instablaster :)
@Drake Noah Thanks for your reply. I found the site through google and Im trying it out now.
Seems to take quite some time so I will reply here later with my results.
@Drake Noah It did the trick and I actually got access to my account again. I am so happy!
Thanks so much, you saved my account :D
How embarrassing for the “doctors” in that audience to laugh in the face of credible science. And how illuminating to the viewer of the skepticism we should hold against the medical community. Thank you for your courageous work.
Well said sir👈
im pretty sure they are embarrassed of their own action now that since are doctors ( pretty arrogant species of human) everything that they thought was a joke turns our to be true! Anyway, Kudos to Dr. Fung for a great lecture and giving hope for all diabetic to not have to be dependent to medicine for the rest of their life and they have a choice of how to live their life.
Awesome video. That said, I don't think they were laughing at him, moreover that it was a jovial discussion. Dr Fung was laughing too.
They don't take a single statistics or logic course, they don't really know anything about science.
Some of the many benefits of fasting and a lower carb whole food diet on the immune system, blood pressure, blood sugar and anti-aging, all backed up by clinical data:
The hunger hormone ghrelin lowers over time with extended fasting and rise from dieting
Thymus stem cells are regenerated, which suppresses aging and renews the immune system.
Fasting stimulates phagocytosis, the ingestion of bacteria and viruses by the immune system.
Blood pressure is quickly and dramatically lowered, which is very important for a good outcome with the current pandemic.
It's absolutely fine for cortisol to be high while fasting, because it produces sugar from fat instead of lean tissue ua-cam.com/video/giEDadzoErs/v-deo.html
Does the body prefernetially prefer glucose as a fuel? No, it never uses mainly glucose for fuel and using glucose for fuel is very biochemically damaging! ua-cam.com/video/Nf1jwMbvNxw/v-deo.html
The hormone Leptin is an immunomodulator that keeps the body from attacking itself and obesity causes leptin resistance. Fasting very quickly reduces leptin resistance and leptin levels and one day of fasting can cut your leptin levels in half and gets your immune system working properly again!
Is fasting just the same as caloric restriction? No! Dieting increases the hunger hormone ghrelin while fasting decreases it and has many other health benefits! ua-cam.com/video/sVl-nilhWLc/v-deo.html
When you move out of MTOR your body shuts down the building blocks of the cell which are used to produce organelles and proteins.
In most cases no! ua-cam.com/video/teQIaU6wp2o/v-deo.html
Fasting can make you gain muscle faster: ua-cam.com/video/5RM8GRzsIIg/v-deo.html
Deep ketosis virtually eliminates chronic inflammation in the body.
Fasts from 36-96 h actually INCREASE metabolic rate! ua-cam.com/video/BeC_gIR2Z14/v-deo.html
Your body releases interferon which is also triggered by the body during viral attacks to shut down the replication ability of the surrounding cells and stop infections.
What breaks a fast? ua-cam.com/video/7aRLsCpxy3o/v-deo.html
Dieters losing weight through intermittent fasting show greater reduction in waist size and increase in insulin sensitivity for the same weight lost and alternate day fasters were shown to lose fat while gaining muscle at the same time over a six month period.
Does fasting lower testosterone? No, it raises it and builds muscle!
ua-cam.com/video/fJUDucBWv4s/v-deo.html
Fasting has been shown to increase bone marrow volume by 10% and levels of carnosine in the body in as little as a few weeks.

Thank you Dr Fung. Your colleagues might treat your message with disrespect, but those of us with diabetes love you. Thank you so much for this excellent information.

100% 👍
His books are very successful 3/12/22
These other doctors aren't getting it. They aren't taking this sincerely. They are part of the problem. Really sad
yes they are and so are the socially inept people who think that conventional diets work...they fail to understand that we diabetics cannot metabolize our food...and continue to follow the normal guidelines to assess a completely abnormal situation.
This unfortunately is the majority of physicians...
Because they realizing he’s cutting into their income.. $$
I admire the fact that with all that impolite background noise he does not miss a beat and stays focus!!! Good job!!! Shame to the noise makers.
I agree backround noise is distracting but the noise is comming from another room 22:46
Why couldn't the audience wait for him to finish the presentation and than ask him the questions. I found their interruptions annoying and it stopped the flow for the rest of us watching. He makes a lot of sense and am so happy that he's educating us all about diabetes, thank you Jason Fung....
nua mkkm
If someone gave me reasonable evidence that I was killing my patients, I'd be in shock and remorse and I'd certainly be paying rapt attention, not cracking jokes that interfered with the talk
exactly that is definitely them giving into cognitive dissonance they would rather pretend he is crazy than admit they are hurting their patients.
Sainesan Naiker 👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾
thank you Dr . I started fasting because I found your UA-cam videos I have type 2 diabetes I'm actually fasting 20 hours a day now and the weight is falling off and my a1c is reversing and my meter show in the 80's all I can say is thank you. I have seen so many family members die from complications with diabetes
datno hi can u share ur email with me ? regards
datno hi >>>>So happy you have an open mind to learn from Jason!

Fung.
Agreed. Very rude audience. Dr. Fung handled it very professionally. Impressive.
He was not preaching to the choir.
I fasted for 5 days blood was 165 dropped to 82 . This was my first fast as they wanted to start me on drugs. Thanks
If there were other doctors in the world wishing to speak out like Dr Fung, the world would be a better place
@@kenfisher8584 How's it going now?
Thank you once again and advice to continue your lectures worldwide basis in the form of seminar because access to internet is minimal to most health professionals in developing countries like us
Really cured?
No spike even hav carbs?
I DO NOT KNOW WHAT THAT NOISE IS BEHIND YOU BUT IT IS A DISGRAISE FOR NOT RESPECTING YOUR PROGRAM. THANK YOU FOR YOUR EFFORTS TO HELP US DR FUNG
Jason Fung I'm a diabetic
I'm binge watching you for a month.

@@realitylk8072 Here's some help
Some of the many benefits of fasting and a lower carb whole food diet on the immune system, blood pressure, blood sugar and anti-aging, all backed up by clinical data:
Thymus stem cells are regenerated, which suppresses aging and renews the immune system.
Fasting stimulates phagocytosis, the ingestion of bacteria and viruses by the immune system.
Blood pressure is quickly and dramatically lowered, which is very important for a good outcome with the current pandemic.
When you move out of MTOR your body shuts down the building blocks of the cell which are used to produce organelles and proteins.
In most cases no! ua-cam.com/video/teQIaU6wp2o/v-deo.html
Fasting can make you gain muscle faster: ua-cam.com/video/5RM8GRzsIIg/v-deo.html
Deep ketosis virtually eliminates chronic inflammation in the body.
Fasts from 36-96 h actually INCREASE metabolic rate! ua-cam.com/video/BeC_gIR2Z14/v-deo.html
Your body releases interferon which is also triggered by the body during viral attacks to shut down the replication ability of the surrounding cells and stop infections.
What breaks a fast? ua-cam.com/video/7aRLsCpxy3o/v-deo.html

Thank you.
I cant believe there are people eating in the background
I think if they had the info board as the background and a window within a white space of the slide, this could gotten rid of the outside traffic, waiters and disappearing behind the info slide board.
should be given the nobel prize in medicine.
What a turnabout in things!!!
the problem is they don't want a cure they want Revenue can't make money off of and healthy patient
True
then we could all spend our money on vacations and fun things I am going to invest in that!!!
"They" are so short-sighted or perhaps lazy because if they "cured" this disease there is always another lurking around the corner to cure especially since the production of our food supply is so compromised. But that requires hard work and commitment, something in short supply in today's population.
man's inhumanity to man...
Why do people act so rude! Nothing was funny! Dr. Fung is a class act...May God bless him for helping diabetics.
I hate it when the audience interrupts Dr Fung's lectures.
He's so nice that they must feel comfortable to do a thing like that.
Bravo Dr. Fung! the world desperately needs more MDs like you and fewer of the type in your audience that evening.
Thanks Jason. You're a legend. Truth and courage together.
for a moment I thought he was lecturing in a restaurant ... the audience is so disrespectful ... I am shoked ... Great lecture Dr Fung !
Still avoid carbs?

Dr. Jason Fung is a wonderful person. Orthodox fasting is either total Vegan (no animal products) or water fasts.
So rude that audience just eating while Dr. Fung was giving such a vital information. People there just care about eating. Thank you Dr. Fung for your endurance and concentration.
Dear Dr. Fung
I have have been IFing for 60 days and my A1C is 5.2 down from 10.6.

@ZenRNLiveLove howz your sugar level and how you are maintaining
Is funny how the doctor is talking about fasting and the audience is eating..lol.. love listening to this doctor!

Best thing I’ve watched re diabetes, I’m type 2 on insulin, started keto 9 months ago, down from 87 kilos to 76 kilos, the way I’m travelling I hope to be off the insulin.
You can do it!
God bless you😊
God Bless you Dr. Fung! Your knowledge is helping me overcome type 2 diabetes.I appreciate your videos so much, they are so informative.

I have been walking 2 miles per day and I have been doing fasting from 6:30 pm till noon everyday and since May I have lost 12 pounds. My sugar level is normal (94). and am still taking my meds. Hope to lose more.
Ur a1c?
Stop taking your meds
Obnoxious and annoying crowd.
+Vous Bottle : Yep, these people have neither manners nor respect.

Faahsting.......absolutely love his accent. I'm faahstly becoming a huge fan of this man. And I agree........the audience SUX! Dr Fung was gracious and as eloquent as always. God only knows how he did it.
Such a good information. Thank you Dr. Fung. You gave me hope. Thank you Lord for this info.
Poor Dr Fung. Have to speak to a room full of drunks. Hope he was well paid.
Sounded like a room full of carboholics.
Very rude "professionals".
Exactly..very rude
😄 🤣
Now I need to include fasting to my routine to help with insulin sensitivity, and further reduce insulin levels, as you have advised.
low carb diets are bad
Not for people with diabetes2. Listen better what he saying.

Posting in an old school Drake Santiago comment!
In most cases no! ua-cam.com/video/teQIaU6wp2o/v-deo.html
Fasting can make you gain muscle faster: ua-cam.com/video/5RM8GRzsIIg/v-deo.html
Deep ketosis virtually eliminates chronic inflammation in the body.
Fasts from 36-96 h actually INCREASE metabolic rate! ua-cam.com/video/BeC_gIR2Z14/v-deo.html
Your body releases interferon which is also triggered by the body during viral attacks to shut down the replication ability of the surrounding cells and stop infections.
What breaks a fast? ua-cam.com/video/7aRLsCpxy3o/v-deo.html

Caleb McFarland >>>>YES....THANKS for speaking out!😁👍❕❗❕❗
Bunch of dummies in the audience
Caleb McFarland US has no society left. Politeness went out the window long ago. People are totally out of control and rude.

Dr. Fung, you are awesome. Please know that you are saving lives everyday through your work. God Bless you
One of your best presentations! Thank you Dr. Fung. You have changed my life.
I am 45 years old and had diabetes 23 years and reversed it with your Diet after just 3 weeks
Pls help me my number is 9901277402
How did u get rid of type 2 mate
Thanks Ian. Be sure to check out my website as I just started a new blog yesterday.
Jason Fung, you are amazing! Thank you for your research and continued endeavors to educate us/others- blessings to you and your family.
Jason Fung !らほどたよ
Dear Dr.
'we enjoy the comfort of opinion without the discomfort of thought.....'
This is brilliant & ohh so true.
Thanks Doc!
The audience at the luncheon were MDs. Pretty sad.
He is respectful.....he wouldn't try to control others!
Fung.
(more) ... and helping others!
Keep going. You can make such a big difference with this approach for so many people.
Wonderful and informative presentation. As a mathematician I appreciated the precision,
yet it was not overwhelming. A "tour de force"! Thank you!
Outstanding job Doc, you stayed consistent and composed, though you had the rudest audience ever; Outside of them, this is my favorite video of yours thus far. Thanks too for your books. Have read only the Obesity Code. Glad I found your through Dr E Berg. Keep up the great work, your work is life changing.
omg annoying people keep interrupting and eating cake making noises with plates so ironic when the presentation is about fasting.
I
haha
those are the fat doctors we need to get rid of from medicine industry !
If this doctors could not wait for conference to finish before stuffing their belly, how are they going to try fasting?
Meeting DrFung is in my bucket list, this Doctor is my hero, if I was there i would kick all those rude guests out...
I mean Comment, what DrFung is explaining is the true science, not medical / Big Pharma fake school science.
Thank you DrFung..you are a Master.
Thank you Dr Jason. Caloric restriction and fasting indeed gives very different results.
Great presentation - horrible audience
Right,do they even belong attending this type of lecture?
Anima Libera I agree! Everybody wants to be a comedian. Ugh...
Agreed, a fantastic presentation. It obviously takes place in a restaurant. And I strongly suspect that the audience is largely other medical professionals, or possibly even "peers." This helps explain the relaxed atmosphere, which a generic audience might consider brash.
Anima Libera
May the Almighty bless you Dr. Fung!
Hi Dr Jason I really appreciate what u are doing plz talk more about this sick .
2bluema 2bluema. Sounds like youve got it! Keep up the good work.
Dr. Fung now has many awesome presentations with much better audiences. You can go deep into the science along with him or watch a step by step guide tp prevent metabolic syndrome. As the history has shown we sure got it all wrong. Thanks for your hard work and caring for people who struggle Dr Fung
Thank you for posting your video. It makes my situation seem less desperate. I'll reach out to your website.
I have been listening to Dr. Fung about fasting and lowering your sugar. I have been fasting on and off for the past week and my sugar is now 150. Sure it probably will go up if I eat but now I must watch the carbs...This works. I also lost some weight in the week as I got back into my size 10s...
Truth, preach it! God open there ears!!! Thank you for telling our medical professionals the fact & help them to stop killing our own!!! :)
Thank you very much for your talk and advice. It gives me hope knowing that diabetics can be reversed through fasting.. God bless you and your family.
