This movie made Dark World better with the benefit of hindsight 😂
Speaking as a Dark World hater, you've gotta give points to Endgame for using one of the only (tbh probably THE only) great moments of that movie so well: the day Frigg died. It gave so much more weight to her death and was a perfect leaping point for Thor's arc about recovering from depression.
I don't think it makes The Dark World better, but when someone revisits such a lame movie and manages to not only dig up a jewel like this (pun not intended) but also put it to such great use, there's gotta be talent involved.

@@lakyak The directors MADE the movie. And yes it's Thanos' movie. He has the most screentime and it gives us a look into his perspective. Thanos is the protagonist in IW and we follow his journey to find the infinity stones. It's not really an Avengers movie. What does Cap, Black Panther, Black Widow and Falcon do the whole movie besides fighting? And what does Thanos do the whole movie? We get an hour of seeing Thanos get the stones.
People can say what they want about hulk and Thor being wasted (even though I disagree) but they still got better treatment then Batman did in justice league lol.

I actually don't have a problem with Endgame Thanos. The character has always been one who's hubris refuses to let him admit he was wrong.
Imo, I would've given the sounds to Endgame. It won just by having Portals and the one during Tony's funeral.

It should’ve won because of all of the great sounds it had throughout the series, to caps shield getting hit by mijonier, to the music that plays when cap lifts mijonier, to the theme song, to the score, and the music during stressful of emotional times, like during Tony’s funeral or when thanos was about to snap, all of those and so much more is why endgame should’ve gotten sound
Infinity War is a better movie for sure, but Endgame is the best possible ending to this franchise. It's awesome and the sacrifices it made to its own story were in service of that goal of being a proper ending

I say that Endgame took Thanos to his logical conclusion.

@@markborishnikoff5485 That's what I thought. While yes, he isn't as deep a character in Endgame, he doesn't need to be and there's no reason to force his character to become something else. In fact, I would argue that they blended in IW Thanos very well into Engame Thanos. His logic for becoming a "destroy the world" villain is perfect and something so characteristic of himself of the future. I don't understand how one can knock him for coming to that conclusion. He's always justified the ends by the means, so of course if he feels pushed to restart the universe and even enjoy destroying Earth, he'll commit to it. And yes he is incredibly Badass in Endgame, which makes sense because in that movie he becomes an overarching villain more than a consistent approaching threat like in infinity war. Also, imo the best "hero shots" (hero being used very loosely) in both movies are Thanos moments. (except thor right before the snap, that was cool)
Sure he's a badass, but he's not as good as a character. You cant build a character completely off them being badass.

Infinity War has an advantage here, as it has almost every hero in the MCU in it, and they were all written and portrayed so well in the film. We got to see every characters unique skill sets on display and see alot of them interact with others in cool ways.
The only heroes in Endgame I liked were Antman, Black Widow and Hawkeye, eveyone else was boring or comedy relief.
Story: Infinity War
Infinity War has a much more solid plot. Its so simple, but it works so well.
Endgame has time travel, and I hate time travel because its lazy.
Supporting: Infinity War
Infinity War supporting characters felt like they themselves had stuff to do in the plot, and didn't feel left out.
In Endgame the supporting characters are just there for comic relief, or just forgotten and pushed entirely.
Action: Infinity War
No competition, every fight in Infinty War was different and unique, and I'll take that stuff any day of the week over a giant cgi war like what we got in Endgame.
Sounds: Infinity War
Both bad great music, but Infinity War gave us new scores, while Endgame *mostly* remade and reused existing themes from previous films.
Villain: Infinity War
Once again, no competition, Infinity War has a way better villain.
Visuals: Infinity War
Both had equally great visuals, but Infinity had so much variety in terms of visuals, and Endgames visuals were kinda dull at times.
Infinity War is perfect and nothing can beat it. Endgame is lazy and relys way to heavily on fan service to make up for the messy plot.

Endgame edges it over Infinity War for me because of the theme; Infinity War is more action adventure and Endgame is more psychological drama, and I far prefer drama to action, so Endgame wins for me.

Actually... Thanos have a will to sacrifice himself. In Endgame, he snapped his finger again to prevent anyone from taking the stone and reverse his action. He mentioned that it almost killed him but he had to do it. That's sacrifice right there.

I feel like objectively, Infinity war is the better better movie by a long shot. But I enjoyed Endgame more. It really depends on what your looking for.
Insert Clickbait let’s say it’s more like Infinity War is a film more for everyone who enjoys a good blockbuster, it’s much more action oriented and it’s more focused on thrills.
Endgame while everyone can like it, it’s more of a fan service fest which I did enjoy very much ofcourse.
But thing is Infinity War is much more of a crowd pleaser they went on a safer bet, yes many of our heroes died and it ended in a sort of cliff hanger but we got what we all expected with Endgame they took risks like the arcs of Thor and Hulk which sadly decided audiences and the time travel.
It’s a great fan service but it sadly split the fandom 50% loved it and I’m in it and 50% hatted it.
Infinity war everyone loved it without a question.

i think what makes having two different versions of Thanos work so well is the fact that you can tell Infinity War Thanos (IWT) has matured and lived and has one focus; where End Game Thanos (EGT) is younger, more arrogant and power hungry; he underestimates the avengers and pays for it. Where IWT is more cold and calculated, witthout needing to hot tempered and irrational, that's were EGT fails. it makes sense that after IWT won the fight, he basically retired and happy with his decision, compared to EGT who is still hungry for a fight and now wants to wipe out the rest of the population. (in my opinion)

However, I still preffer Endgame, its my favourite movie of all time. This movie made me cry SIX TIMES on opening night, and since then, I have watched it 4 more times. In ALL of them, I cried AT LEAST twice

As a film I think infinity war was better from a technical standpoint but I enjoyed endgame more since it had stronger emotional moments and one of the best final battles to a comic book movie I’ve seen with a satisfying ending.

I disagree. I think Infinity War was the better superhero movie, but Endgame was the better movie.
Infinity War has all the stuff people want in a big superhero movie. It has lots of characters, tons of action, high stakes, and an exciting villain.
Contrarily, Endgame is far more laid back. Most the movie lacks a villain and stakes, giving the film more time to focus on its characters. Like many have said, the second act of the film isn’t as action oriented. It’s the MCU taking a step back and looking at the bigger picture. During the time travel scenes we see the four big boys (Iron Man, Captain America, Thor, and Hulk) find some sort of closure and motivation to push forward and all the more a reason for what they’re trying to do. It’s an entirely different tone from endgame, and I think most common folk most liked endgame for its hype final battle and don’t understand what the movie is truly about.

You cut out the most important part of endgame thanos' line. He would rebuild it that way nobody would remember and try to reverse it. His goal is still the same. Exactly the same, he's just making sure it really cannot be undone no matter what.
I disagree on the supporting cast; I would give the win to Infinity War. It does a great job balancing the massive cast, and with so many characters, there is more chemistry between them. I found the team-ups in IW to be more enjoyable than those in Endgame. Still though, great video.

I think a category you should add to these is climactic moments. Stuff like Thor entering wakanda or the avengers assemble. Those epic moments that you build up to in movies that give you that adrenaline rush. Imo those factor heavily into the how good a movie is because you watch a movie to be entertained and they entertain you

Because that moment (while undeniably wonderfull and one of the best in the whole movie) is either on par with Cap's moment of glory in Endgame or gets completly demolished by Endgame's portals moment with the "Portals" theme going over into an even more bombastic Avengers theme than what we got with Thor's arrival on Wakanda.
Tobito TV I’d argue the potent simplicity of Thor’s arrival in Wakanda really REALLY helps the moment land. The build in anticipation doesn’t come from finding out who’s gonna show up there, but in seeing how the person who IS there can help turn the tide of battle. It immediately gets you up off your feet and then continuing to pump your fist before the major fall.

Let me explain, you know they're coming back because of Far From Home....but you don't know which of the O6 Avengers will survive. In the 3rd act Thor, Cap, Iron Man, Hulk and Ronin almost die twice. The third act have all the tension that the 1st and 2cd don't have.

When you cause someone else to sin you are guilty as well. It’s up to you to see how far it goes till it’s your fault they sinned. Taking the Lord’s name in vain is a sin but it’s up to you to decide what is taking the Lords name in vain. God can basically do almost anything Tell others so they have a chance at being saved and live a perfect life forever. We live in a sinful world and we all sinned so we deserve it. Okay I think you are WAY underselling Endgame's score, like immensely. The movie honestly has the second best score in the MCU behind Black Panther. It uses the score for storytelling in ways that normally don't pop up in Marvel movies. Examples include the Porch theme from Infinity War playing as Thor walks out of the hut, cementing Thanos's victory, The Real Hero theme playing while Tony's in space and parts of it playing when he's talking to Howard Stark, foreshadowing his death. The queue for Portals plays when Stark comes back to Earth to sell the crushing loss of their friends, but then comes back triumphant when they return for the final battle. This is my Choice from The First Avenger score returns twice in Endgame, once when he sees Peggy again, showing how much he lost after the plane crash, and when he passes on the shield to show that he finally got to live his life with her. Not to mention the return of previous MCU themes like Captain America, Ant-Man, Dr. Strange, and Captain Marvel. I'm honestly so shocked that you chose Infinity War over this, even with its superior sound design, and it makes me think that you might've not caught it given your lack of even a passing mention of these attributes.
I 100% agree with you mate. The Endgame score is in my opinion Alan Silvestri's best work. I really love a lot of tracks in this score, particularly Portals, The Real Hero and Main on End. This is one of the two times where I didn't like his reason for why he chose that movie as the sound winner.

Avengers Endgame over Infinity War all day but if anyone has problems with Endgame. Those same problems are pretty much in IW both the films have bad power scaling, inconsistent story elements, and Thanos plan not making sense. Still Endgame gave us all the Avengers working together to fight the issue IW had them divided making it easier to lose.

People somehow seem to always miss the point. When thanos saw the avengers unwilling to accept his "mercy" to the point they made time machine just to revert his entire life work for their own selfish reason, he snapped.
Like at that time he knew no matter of how many times he did the snap, there will always be people like the avengers that will do anything to undone it which make his plan pretty much meaningless so obliviously he chose to erase everything and start all over again instead.
I Still Like Endgame Better
Endgame Thanos was relatively simpler because one of many reasons, that they needed people to feel raged against him, and want him to lose, rather than think in the back of their minds that "you know what, he still got a point".
