    FAQ's:
    Q: What keys did you hit?
    A: BIOS was Delete. Recovery Options was F3.
    Q: I cannot change the options for Legacy or changing them did not help.
    A: If you cannot change the settings in BIOS, or if changing them does not help, continue on with the rest of the video. What was the result of the diagnostic scan?
    Q: None of the steps seen here work :(
    A: If you cant find any Recovery or Repair options in BIOS, or if they did not work and if reseating the HDD does not help, you may be looking at a bad OS or a bad HDD. You can try reinstalling the OS to make sure thats not the issue, but if that fails, your most likely looking at a bad HDD and it should be replaced. Let me know if you would like assistance with any of that :)

    Thanks for fixing my computer! I thought my raid0 failed. My computer quit starting up, had to change the bios battery. Just before that got a drive error, thought the raid was broken. Changed from UFEI to LEGACY and it's back! I didn't think it was my raid0, bios showed both drives as normal, but live boot into Linux showed no drive. I was so close to running my laptop over with my car!

      @@PC_Monkeysince he didn’t reply to you I will follow up with my same issue. I’m getting this exact problem but intertwined with my pc in a constant on/off loop until I eventually get it to turn on. Once on, I get the same message about connecting a drive to continue. Once again keep restarting until it posts. I’ve narrowed it down to the motherboard because once it starts up it will EVENTUALLYYYYYY boot up using the hard drive as a bootable device.
      So do you think it could be the motherboard? My Bios and all my drivers are current. No viruses on my pc. I defragmented the hard drive. I used the windows memory diagnostic tool to check for RAM damage. I checked my cpu temperature and monitored operation and it’s performing perfectly. I bought a new power supply thinking it was a potential power issue but the issue continued on. My gpu works fine and has nothing to do with startup processes besides display. I think my only option is to buy a new motherboard and slap it in

    • @PC_Monkey
      @PC_Monkey  8 місяців тому

      @@oladipoodunmbaku3954 Yes, the DATA is stored on the SSD. So if you replace it, the DATA will be on the old SSD and not on the new one. You can download the DATA to an external storage device and then download them onto the new drive after install, or you can upload them to a cloud-based storage system so you can download them back to the computer after replacing the drive. Or you can use any one of the drive cloning software out there to clone the old drive onto the new before install.
