Thanks mate! I've been trying to speed up the build videos as I think they're just too long and boring, especially the step by step videos. So for now will do them in this style and see how they go. Thanks for the great feedback! 🙂👍
They're nice buggy, that's for sure. This one shares the chassis design with the Kyosho Beetle, Tomahawk, Scorpion but yes, they're not common with other brands. Thanks mate, glad you enjoyed it. 🙂👍
I remember the red shocks from the original Ultima I had in the late 80s, it was my first hobby grade RC. I love that Kyosho re-released these kits, and looking forward to future releases.
I remember them from my first Ultima too. Before then I used to look in the Kyosho mini catalogues and drool over them, back then anodized RC parts wasn't very common. Oh yeah, I'm lovin the re-releases and very happy Kyosho did that. Also keen to see the future releases! 🙂👍
Thanks Mikael. I agree, they do look very cool. Yes, quite different to a Tamiya build. I think you'd really enjoy building a couple of Kyosho buggies. 🙂👍
I need one , this is really nice quality. The only part I hate is the e clips on the shocks . Lucky I had a container load of them spare . Time to get some glasses , great video again mate. Thanks.
I'm sure you'll have one soon mate. You must have a huge collection by now! Oh yeah, e clips... I shot two across the room doing these shocks. One to the left and one to the right, only found one of them though. 🤣
Nice build. I'm building it at the moment. My diff was neerly locked. I had to loosen the screws a bit. I also opened it and cleaned all the grease out. Checked for dirt and greased it up again. And still i needed to let the screws loose a bit.
Thanks Christoph. Awesome, they're a great buggy. Hmm that's strange, I've not had that issue with any of these types of chassis. Hope it works OK for you. If I think of a reason it might be like that I'll let you know. 👍
Hiya, Mick! Great build, this kit just oozes quality! Nice hints and tips along the way, nice one mate. Such a cool buggy - now you got me wanting one! All the best and a big thumbs up my friend! :-)
Hi Mark! Oh yeah, they are a very nice kit. I say grab one, you won't be disappointed. I've wanted one since the 80's, it finally happened. Thanks mate! 🙂👍
Great video Mick. Just the right amount of detail and pace. Looks like a lovely kit. Never noticed the odd angle of the rear suspension pivots on these before. I'm sure that there's a good reason for it. Anyway I notice that there is a video of this finished now so I'll check it out in a bit. Cheers for now :-)
Thanks Pete! I'm trying to make the build videos less boring, not an easy task to fit all the info in without being too lengthy. At the very least my videos will still be boring but shorter 🤣. I think the reason for that is to give it some negative camber, being trailing arm I imagine the negative camber will help with cornering. Thanks mate! 🙂👍
They're such a quality kit, I can't wait to get one to build one day 👌. You even tightened the side plate in a cross pattern!👌🧐 Some serious attention to detail going on in your shed 👍. Really looking forward to seeing more on this build!. Oils ain't oils Boss, haven't heard that for a while 😂 Thanks for sharing your video Mick 👍🦘🇦🇺
They are mate, beautiful quality! Hope you can get yours soon, you'll love it. Oh yeah, the old cross pattern has stuck with me over the years from my apprenticeship... Well that and drinking! 🤣🍻 Lol yeah oils ain't oils, showing my age now! No probs mate, thanks for watching and the great feedback. 🙂👍
You probably dont give a shit but does any of you know a tool to log back into an Instagram account..? I was dumb lost my account password. I appreciate any tips you can give me
@Anders Case I really appreciate your reply. I found the site on google and im in the hacking process now. Looks like it's gonna take a while so I will reply here later with my results.
First, very nice videos with good information. I know I've hear you say it in this video or if it was the tomahawk. But I'm building a tomahawk at the moment and will put some oil in the diff. What cst did you use? I stuck some 30k in there now but think you even went heavier? Kindly Per
Thanks for the great feedback! I don't think I use any oil in the diff as they come pre-assembled, so they are already greased. Maybe I should have opened it up though, as someone recently said there isn't a lot of grease in there. Let me know how it goes. 👍
For sure! Oh yeah, I hear ya on those shock seals! I actually did record what I thought is an easy way to put them on, but I had it so close to my face so I could see that it was out of camera shot, so useless footage. 🤣
Thanks for sharing. Been looking into picking this kit up. Have used after market hardware ( RC SCREWZ) or powder coating/ anodizing the frame or metal parts?
@@johnband3 I haven't really though about it, mostly because I think they look awesome how they are. But it would look cool for a custom build, although I'd be scared of scratching the anodizing then. 👍
sorry, but did I miss you building the shocks for this kit as for the Scorpion kit? Perhaps the Scorpion kit had them prebuild as I understand, but surely this is a complete build but you didnt show that? hmm
This video was only as brief overview of the build, hence why it's only 12 minutes long. The shocks do go together the same way as the Scorpion shocks. 👍
Im very curious to see how that reedy motor performs? The can and endbell exactly match the cheap chinese brushed motors lately and those things are junk. I got a 12 turn...it was just awful. Good build!
Yeah it will be interesting. I'm not sure of the quality either, although it appears quite good. We're still in lockdown for another couple of weeks, so not sure when I can get out to run it but there will be a run video for sure! Thanks! 👍
@@RCHobbyShed when i took the chinese motor apart the slots and windings were shorter than a normal 540 and they had a brass sleeve welded to the silver pin so it wouldnt wobble back and forth inside the 540 can. Very disappointed.
Almost finished m' build. believe it or nae, The gear box cover and wing mounts that were supposed tae be in the "E" bag are nae there. I have never had missing parts in a Kyosho kit until now. I've built 6. Disappointing.
Oh no, how annoying. I've never had that before. Maybe contact the company you bought it from and see if they can send you the parts. That really sucks. Hope you can get your parts before Christmas. 👍
Great Kyosho, great build looking forward to the other videos and seeing the end result 👍
I have of these sitting in the box too saving the build for a rainy day.
They're a great build, when that rainy day comes. 👍
Best Kyosho Scorpion build tutorial on UA-cam. Legendary stuff Mick. Keep up the great work its greatly appreciated.

Really great this model of kyosho, I did not know it and this chassis is not common on other rc. Excellent work and good explanations .

Thanks Eric. Yeah it should go well, can't wait. Still in lockdown for a couple of more weeks but will get it out as soon as I can. 🙂👍

Love the Kyosho re-re’s 😍
Thanks Paul. Yeah, they're awesome cars! 🙂👍
This car looks amazing and materials quality seems to be great.
Thanks. I'm very happy with the quality of materials used. The Kyosho re-releases are beautiful and excellent quality. 🙂👍
Yeah, looks extremely cool. So different from the entry-level Tamiyas I am used to building. Good job, Mick.

Did you use thread lock? Does the kit come with thread lock?
I was going to ask the same question.
Yes I did, and yes it does. I used it wherever indicated in the manual. 🙂👍
@@RCHobbyShed Yes, with all of the metal of this kit it would be necessary.
