This is why I tried to do things in order and not miss things but since this game is so good you tend to miss a lot of things because you get caught up in the story
I’m really glad I didn’t miss any of those when I did my first play through, I think the save is at 98% at the moment. They may not be necessary for the achievements but it feels good to know you’ve done everything.
Agreed, wish the interactions ran smoother so it wasn’t as difficult to activate some but it certainly makes the game feel more immersive, I know I’m constantly picking items up for friends and family anyway irl

this is exactly what i did i missed a gigantic chunk of things because i was so hype for the game i wanted nothing but the main story with a few bounties and stuff but i’ve restarted now and am doing nothing but treasures and stuff now
and that sucks big ass too. apparently some stranger missions will mess up if you start with Morgan and try to finish with john. they should have made things like this a bit more obvious because you are liable to still miss out on stuff on a 2nd play through. I hate doing playthroughs on huge games like this. I need a easy to understand guide on getting the missable shit out of the way so I then can proceed to play the game in the fashion I want to. all the time it took them to make this game they sure did a puss poor job on being clear as to what you may ought to do if you don't want to miss anything.
Im going for 100% completion on my 3rd play through In the 2nd chapter and So far i've filled the whole map apart from blackwater bellow done most of the stranger missions and encounters and hunted so much legendary animals and gotten so much from the trapper And i haven't even unlocked the fishing rod yet
I am on my 3rd or 4th play through and this time going for everything. The FIRST thing I do in and play through is in chapter 2 is hop on a train without a ticket and ride it in a full loop. Quickly fills out the map. Not that you need to for any particular reason.

To get the Lending a Hand trophy without replaying the game just replay the mission Home Improvement for Beginners, it's in the epilogue part two, after you complete it this trophy will pop up. I literally just did it and it still works so hurry up. Also it only takes like 30 seconds
There’s 2 things no UA-camr had noticed. The mission in guarma where you take down the boat. After you finish and you walk slowly as Arthur, 2 little birds fly down on the wall next to Arthur then fly forward (going past Arthur, kind of a destination to go forward) this is clearly Hosea and Lenny as animals. Then the eagle that flies away from Arthur’s grave is in the mission American venom leading John towards Micah.
Didnt have it the 1st time but 2nd playtrough i got him after i got busted out of jail by dutch😂. Didnt try that either the 1st time. I recommend to play the game a 2nd time. Bcuz i know alot of people missed a bunch and i know, its not even on purpose but many things just happen randomly. Like the guy who got his arm amputated. Again, got it only in the 2nd playthrough! And im one of them that takes his time with games😂😂

Dont need either... its mainly for people that want all 178 animals in compodium... i didnt get Rufus, carolina parakeet, and these guarma animals and i got both zoologist and skin deep in ch 4 when I did the glitch where I can travel to new austin without being shot. By the way, for skin deep, there is only 71/178 animals required, the only bird-like type of animals that skin deep requires is the great prairies chicken, 2 ducks, 2 Cormorants, 3 egrets, 2 herons, 3 loons, 2 pheasants... all other bird types such as hawks eagles owls crows or any small birds arent needed for skin deep. FYI, you would get the egrets and herons automatically since they are required for the exotic request anyway
You missed quite a few things. * Each gunslinger you're tasked to track down has a unique gun. * The old lady who burns to death in her mansion has a broocher. * The Yankee plantation owner has a letter besides his corpse that covers his family history. * In Guana there's a unique hat. * The girl that you help escape on train offers a special pendant. * After you kill the lion, you can obtain its rare paw. In fact, I think all legendary animal parts can be missed if you don't collect the loot. I'm probably missing a few other things as well.
Can not speak about the paw but as soon as you kill a legendary animal you are good to go with both the Tapper and Fence. If you fail to collect the animal skin it does not matter. The only thing you lose is the money you would have earned had you collected it and sold it to the trapper but credit for the skin, horn, eye, etc is already credited.
When I got to guarma the first thing I thought about was how many amazing new snakes I could find. I must have looked for ages and couldn't find a single one.
PSA: If you're having trouble finding the Fer-De-Lance snake on guarma, apparently you can find it back home, so don't worry about it too much! So, Only the three Macaws, the Red-Footed Booby, and the three snakes (Red-Tailed, Rainbow, Sunglow). So 7 animals in total. All others can be found elsewhere, eg green iguana, Cuban land crab, etc. ALSO... Make sure you pick up the "Sun Hat" there if you're interested. Apparently it's only obtainable on Guarma, but again, not required for the game at all.
Thats a great Idea! he could have been called in by the local sheriff (an old friend) as a trusted hired gun. Landon and the sheriff would be at odds but begrudgingly allied with Milton, Ross and the pinkertons. Perhaps he could even kill Mac in a fair duel in the climax of the mission which would show even more of what a creep Milton was for taking all of the credit.

When you help out Beau Gray in giving Penelope Braithwaite the letter with the bracelet you can side track to the fence and sell the bracelet lol. You lose some honor but she asks if he sent anything else and Arthur will say no just the letter

You actually missed out on a mission. The one where you help Eagle Flies get the files from the oil place by sneaking in. Can be triggered through the authors stranger mission in Saint Denis. Correct me if im wrong
Technically the gunslingers weapons are missable if you don't know to grab them. That's one thing I screwed up on that's stopped me from a 100% compendium - that and Guarma animals. So I just had to settle for the normal 100% completion.
Also to add: All model of guns that can be bought are in the Saint Denis Gunsmith, such as the M1899 automatic pistol and LeMat revolver/shotgun . Not as missable, but barely dropped by people and found only in this guy's gun store. Melee weapons can be bought at fences,but at the Van Horn trading post you can buy a double action revolver that is silver and is engraved with gambling symbols. It cost $45 for people with the highest amount of honour (so I guess $90 for people with average honour ). If you go to New Austin, and go to the very North, to the edge of the mountain range and go along it, you should find the "new weapon icon". Go directly above it and then look for a cave opening with Eagle eye. You will find a chest with Otis Miller's revolver (rare, golden, engraved, double action) and a little money, and loads of erotic photos.
YOU MISSED ONE: The railroad forman will also ask you to help catch someone stealing money from his camp if you visit him during chapter 2 (possibly after as well, but that's when I did it).
I've done almost everything that was missable. The only things I didn't do was save Bill with Javier, a few item requests, a few event areas, the Guarma animals (which I'll do the glitch to get those) and the final mission for Mrs. Adler (haven't gotten to that yet).
There are several missable missions you didnt include, like: Serial Killer (Ch 2) Valentine Woman Killer (Ch 4) Jim Boy Calloway (Ch 2-4) Chain Gang (Ch 3) Help Henri Lemieux (Ch 4) Electric Chair Guy (Ch 4) Moonshine Herbs (Ch 2-6) Butchers Creek Conman (Ch 6) I dont recall the mission names but these are lots of fun to complete.
What about being able to steal Micah's pistol in chapter one? That's one of the fun things to do haha it's in the mission at the O'Driscolls winter camp I think. If you disarm one and lead them to Micah they fight and You can get one of them to knock his pistol out of his hands and you can take it. I love this game!
I beat this game the week it was released back in 2018. I decided to replay the game again (2020) and boy oh boy all the content and other stuff I missed made it feel like I'm playing a brand new game.
This game is such a masterpiece, I want to complete 100% of the game. I missed many missables. This second time, I'll enjoy playing as Arthur as possible. :D

Hey GTA Series Videos, will you guys be doing pre-epilogue/post-epilogue cutscene differences in stranger missions? Such as in "The Veteran", if you catch the Tyrant as Arthur, and return as John, Hamish will tell John that Arthur caught the fish. Or if you get Buell (and Hamish's leg) back, and visit as John afterwards, you get unique dialogue.
Nice, considering i still play this and its first playthrough, judging by this guide i did all those missions, except hunting snakes and birds xD i proud of myself that i managed to thoroughly find and finish all the side quests and all random encounters 👌👍 now i need to finish collecting everything and im done :)
This is a MASSIVE flaw in RDR2. Why would Rockstar go to the trouble of creating content in a game but designing it in such a way that most people won't have the chance to see all of it? There should be some sort of warning message telling the player that if they advance beyond this point they will miss encounters and/or side missions. I don't want to have to play the whole damn game over again just to expose side missions I missed the first time. Stupid.
But that's the point of RDR 2 gameplay. Rockstar did it exactly for each player have their UNIQUE experience. Something happends to you when ou play and you tell your friend about it, but when he will play the game, maybe he will not se the same things and if he see's, maybe he choose other interaction that will change everything. So, this is all about unexpected moments.
@@elbercore That's a good point but I still think it would have made sense for them to alert the player to the fact there is more to explore before proceeding to the next chapter. The player could then decide whether they want to ride around looking for more experiences or get on with the story. These games are expensive and it doesn't feel great to find out when you finish that you completely missed half the side missions.
When you are in Guarma, for exemple, that it's a very linear part of the game. You have less guns than in the rest of the game, it's not a part that makes you wanted to stay. You want to pass it fast and you go full on the missions. But, knowing that, you can stop the whole thing and look for some animals around. I did it. Did not find all of them, but i killed some iguanas, parekeets and one os those snakes. I know you can go back there by a glitch in mexico. So, about the friend's requests, you can feel when the story of the game is going to a way that you will not go back. People are dying, people are getting out of the gang. You have to pay attention on this ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ And the other ones, c'mon, it's secondary missions and the way the game ends, it will make no sense that they could be there to you later. And you also can presume that when the main character get sick by a sickness that can kill someone nowdays, so, what else would happen to someone with TB in late 1800??

Hi, on my third playthrough i will try to 100%. The only problem is that i dont know if all these missable count for the 100%. Since for example the game asks you just 10 extrangers missions and there are like 25+. Things like that keeps me confusing on which missables are really needed for 100% and which are not neccesary

It's useless. You're not missing much like meteorite item (which is useful). But it'd be very useful if there was some mission and protected Arthur from the deadly bullet on his body.

There’s 2 things no UA-camr had noticed.
The mission in guarma where you take down the boat. After you finish and you walk slowly as Arthur, 2 little birds fly down on the wall next to Arthur then fly forward (going past Arthur, kind of a destination to go forward) this is clearly Hosea and Lenny as animals.
Then the eagle that flies away from Arthur’s grave is in the mission American venom leading John towards Micah.
Only thing I missed was the saving Bill Williamson mission

I did the mission... It interrupted the Horseman #9 Challenge I had been trying to do for a whole hour

Didnt have it the 1st time but 2nd playtrough i got him after i got busted out of jail by dutch😂. Didnt try that either the 1st time. I recommend to play the game a 2nd time. Bcuz i know alot of people missed a bunch and i know, its not even on purpose but many things just happen randomly. Like the guy who got his arm amputated. Again, got it only in the 2nd playthrough! And im one of them that takes his time with games😂😂

Dont need either... its mainly for people that want all 178 animals in compodium... i didnt get Rufus, carolina parakeet, and these guarma animals and i got both zoologist and skin deep in ch 4 when I did the glitch where I can travel to new austin without being shot.
By the way, for skin deep, there is only 71/178 animals required, the only bird-like type of animals that skin deep requires is the great prairies chicken, 2 ducks, 2 Cormorants, 3 egrets, 2 herons, 3 loons, 2 pheasants... all other bird types such as hawks eagles owls crows or any small birds arent needed for skin deep. FYI, you would get the egrets and herons automatically since they are required for the exotic request anyway

You missed quite a few things.
* Each gunslinger you're tasked to track down has a unique gun.
* The old lady who burns to death in her mansion has a broocher.
* The Yankee plantation owner has a letter besides his corpse that covers his family history.
* In Guana there's a unique hat.
* The girl that you help escape on train offers a special pendant.
* After you kill the lion, you can obtain its rare paw. In fact, I think all legendary animal parts can be missed if you don't collect the loot.
I'm probably missing a few other things as well.
John can get all of the legendary animals and that lion.
Can not speak about the paw but as soon as you kill a legendary animal you are good to go with both the Tapper and Fence. If you fail to collect the animal skin it does not matter. The only thing you lose is the money you would have earned had you collected it and sold it to the trapper but credit for the skin, horn, eye, etc is already credited.

When I got to guarma the first thing I thought about was how many amazing new snakes I could find. I must have looked for ages and couldn't find a single one.

PSA: If you're having trouble finding the Fer-De-Lance snake on guarma, apparently you can find it back home, so don't worry about it too much! So, Only the three Macaws, the Red-Footed Booby, and the three snakes (Red-Tailed, Rainbow, Sunglow). So 7 animals in total. All others can be found elsewhere, eg green iguana, Cuban land crab, etc. ALSO... Make sure you pick up the "Sun Hat" there if you're interested. Apparently it's only obtainable on Guarma, but again, not required for the game at all.
Far-de-lance snake is not missable because you can find it near thieves landing (under blackwater)

Thats a great Idea! he could have been called in by the local sheriff (an old friend) as a trusted hired gun. Landon and the sheriff would be at odds but begrudgingly allied with Milton, Ross and the pinkertons. Perhaps he could even kill Mac in a fair duel in the climax of the mission which would show even more of what a creep Milton was for taking all of the credit.

If u find her as Arthur and dont come back, if u try to come back as John she will be dead, so you cant do the mission
But if you dont find her at all, you can do the mission as John
So the trick is to do the whole thing as Arthur or John, but u can't begin with arthur and finish with John

When you help out Beau Gray in giving Penelope Braithwaite the letter with the bracelet you can side track to the fence and sell the bracelet lol. You lose some honor but she asks if he sent anything else and Arthur will say no just the letter

You actually missed out on a mission. The one where you help Eagle Flies get the files from the oil place by sneaking in. Can be triggered through the authors stranger mission in Saint Denis. Correct me if im wrong

Technically the gunslingers weapons are missable if you don't know to grab them. That's one thing I screwed up on that's stopped me from a 100% compendium - that and Guarma animals. So I just had to settle for the normal 100% completion.

Also to add:
All model of guns that can be bought are in the Saint Denis Gunsmith, such as the M1899 automatic pistol and LeMat revolver/shotgun . Not as missable, but barely dropped by people and found only in this guy's gun store. Melee weapons can be bought at fences,but at the Van Horn trading post you can buy a double action revolver that is silver and is engraved with gambling symbols. It cost $45 for people with the highest amount of honour (so I guess $90 for people with average honour ).
If you go to New Austin, and go to the very North, to the edge of the mountain range and go along it, you should find the "new weapon icon". Go directly above it and then look for a cave opening with Eagle eye. You will find a chest with Otis Miller's revolver (rare, golden, engraved, double action) and a little money, and loads of erotic photos.
The high roller can be found in all fences. Not sure how to unlock it though.

I've done almost everything that was missable. The only things I didn't do was save Bill with Javier, a few item requests, a few event areas, the Guarma animals (which I'll do the glitch to get those) and the final mission for Mrs. Adler (haven't gotten to that yet).
I wish there still was a glitch to get to New Austin as Arthur...I want that damn knife you get from the crazy archaeologist lady! Lol

What about being able to steal Micah's pistol in chapter one? That's one of the fun things to do haha it's in the mission at the O'Driscolls winter camp I think. If you disarm one and lead them to Micah they fight and You can get one of them to knock his pistol out of his hands and you can take it. I love this game!

I beat this game the week it was released back in 2018. I decided to replay the game again (2020) and boy oh boy all the content and other stuff I missed made it feel like I'm playing a brand new game.

Hey GTA Series Videos, will you guys be doing pre-epilogue/post-epilogue cutscene differences in stranger missions? Such as in "The Veteran", if you catch the Tyrant as Arthur, and return as John, Hamish will tell John that Arthur caught the fish. Or if you get Buell (and Hamish's leg) back, and visit as John afterwards, you get unique dialogue.
You can help Hamish 3 times and actually get Beull. Good horse.
But you can only get buell when the veteran dies

Nice, considering i still play this and its first playthrough, judging by this guide i did all those missions, except hunting snakes and birds xD i proud of myself that i managed to thoroughly find and finish all the side quests and all random encounters 👌👍

This is a MASSIVE flaw in RDR2. Why would Rockstar go to the trouble of creating content in a game but designing it in such a way that most people won't have the chance to see all of it? There should be some sort of warning message telling the player that if they advance beyond this point they will miss encounters and/or side missions. I don't want to have to play the whole damn game over again just to expose side missions I missed the first time. Stupid.
But that's the point of RDR 2 gameplay. Rockstar did it exactly for each player have their UNIQUE experience. Something happends to you when ou play and you tell your friend about it, but when he will play the game, maybe he will not se the same things and if he see's, maybe he choose other interaction that will change everything.
So, this is all about unexpected moments.
@@elbercore That's a good point but I still think it would have made sense for them to alert the player to the fact there is more to explore before proceeding to the next chapter. The player could then decide whether they want to ride around looking for more experiences or get on with the story. These games are expensive and it doesn't feel great to find out when you finish that you completely missed half the side missions.
When you are in Guarma, for exemple, that it's a very linear part of the game. You have less guns than in the rest of the game, it's not a part that makes you wanted to stay. You want to pass it fast and you go full on the missions. But, knowing that, you can stop the whole thing and look for some animals around. I did it. Did not find all of them, but i killed some iguanas, parekeets and one os those snakes. I know you can go back there by a glitch in mexico.
So, about the friend's requests, you can feel when the story of the game is going to a way that you will not go back. People are dying, people are getting out of the gang. You have to pay attention on this ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
And the other ones, c'mon, it's secondary missions and the way the game ends, it will make no sense that they could be there to you later. And you also can presume that when the main character get sick by a sickness that can kill someone nowdays, so, what else would happen to someone with TB in late 1800??

Hi, on my third playthrough i will try to 100%. The only problem is that i dont know if all these missable count for the 100%. Since for example the game asks you just 10 extrangers missions and there are like 25+. Things like that keeps me confusing on which missables are really needed for 100% and which are not neccesary
@@renzogiacomisi1069 you just need to do as much and that checklist tells you to. There is an achievement tho for doing all the stranger missions but that’s separate from 100% it

Forgot that shield... was top focused in trying to do that mission to get to chapter 4. Now I feel mad about it but at the same time I got a save before it.... but still.
It's useless. You're not missing much like meteorite item (which is useful).
But it'd be very useful if there was some mission and protected Arthur from the deadly bullet on his body.

It's part of his character arc. Arthur will forever and always be fated to die from his illness he contracts from Downes.
If you avoid it straus will personally come and talk to you. Making you forced to play the mission
Even if you don’t do that quest, when you next head into camp after ignoring it for a while Strauss will force you into the mission.
The Rare Shotgun, belonging to the Hermit, is also missable if not picked up when it's dropped. It's just not time sensitive.
