All savage rifles made from 2019 and on will be using the new firing pin assembly. You can buy them on Ebay or through my website. It is a pretty easy kit to install and just about anyone should be able to do it. You only need a 1/4in Allen wrench. The modification takes less then five minutes.

Got my kit in the mail today and installed a few minutes ago. Wow, this thing is great! Bolt lift is noticeably improved. Followed the directions in the video and the install was seamless. Highly recommend this kit for a Savage 110 rifle (mine's a 2023 model) and ordering from the Desh Ind. website was easy and the kit came pretty quick, USPS. I had previously installed a Savage tactical bolt handle from J and A prior to the Desh kit install. But adding the kit made the bolt lift super easy.
The worst part is this video has the thumbnail of the firing pin that I have... Which made me think it was a 2019 and newer

I got the universal kit for my Axis this past Friday, put ONLY the spacer on since I know I'd probably loose the small part of the spring your video says to cut and grind flat. Took it out Saturday and holy crap man.
Such an awesome improvement over stock. I can fire and work the bolt without coming off target. Thanks so much for making this.

Where are you seeing or hearing me say cut it flat and grind it down? I just had two sets of eyes and ears watch this and there was no mention of doing this? I am just concerned because that was very old advice I gave that did not work out well for many and I need to delete any appearance of it online.

But looking at it again this firing pin has a one piece spring so I suppose I didn't need to anyway? My Axis has two springs; one with a post to hold the cocking stud in place and a separate second spring that probably provides the tension when cocked.

Just made a purchase for my son's Savage Axis 2 7mm08 (2019 & on firing pin). Overall happy with the purchase and product worked as Desh claims. Buying and shipping was seamless and quick. Factory lift was averaging at 11.5lb with wheeler trigger gauge. After install kit it was now 9.9lb avg.
I will note that after installing the "ring" spacer you cannot see the cocking pin protruding anymore. I tried without the ring spacer but couldn't flick over the cocking sear without the spacer. Guess just have to live without the cocking pin showing. Torque specs I went with the BAS was 40 in lb.
I did order a Glade Armory extended bolt and will install it this weekend and do couple live firing to see if firing pin is affected. Standby for review.

Just installed this kit, and I honestly can't tell a difference, good or bad, in bolt lift. It feels exactly the same in my case. Installed it per the video instructions. Still have to use the scope as a thumb brace when lifting the bolt with one hand which I had hoped to eliminate. Maybe the difference is more noticeable on other firing pin type bolts. I'm probably jusy going to give up on this rifle and build something else.

This kit did help, I've been running it for a year or so. I had a light primer strike on a deer last weekend though, so I ended up removing it
Light primer strikes is very common even without the kit. Usual fix is to have it bushed or put a stronger spring in it. I get a ton of these in the shop where people are having light strikes. Shape of the tip of the firing pin is also another reason for it.

Will the 2019+ bolt lift kit on the site fit a Savage axis ii precision MDT 30-06? The universal kit is not available.
So I haven't opened my bolt assembly up but can clearly see it's this firing pin pictured here in your video, because I clearly see the linear groove you pointed out... But strangly I see no green paint on the large spring, but I can only see about two coils of the spring... 🤷♂️
So my question is.... should I order the lift kit that's marketed as 2019+ or should I order the universal kit ?
My application would be for a Walmart Savage Axis ll 308 in stainless steel with accu-trigger...which also has the loaded chamber indicator..... bought new one week ago.

Hello saw your product when I Google bolt lift kit for my savage 110 precision, saw a video on UA-cam about savage axis but not on my 110. 2019 savages and newer model, I think I’m gonna go with desh industries
Was having problems with my Axis II Precision not letting a fired cartridge pull out of the chamber. When lifting the bolt to eject a fired cartridge, it would get stuck at the bolt handle's high point and not pull back. It would load/unload an unfired cartridge just fine! The gun was brand new. Sent it back and they had to re-mill the entire chamber. Interestingly enough, they sent it back with a different firing pin in my bolt. It had the new version pin (since it was new) when I sent it in and it came back with what Grimstod calls the "multi-piece pin with cocking indicator." I'm wonder if they've been having problems with the new style firing pins? Has anyone heard anything? I actually wasn't to crazy about the new version with the 2 piece spring setup as it applied uneven pressure to the washer in the middle (or the kit if you install one). It just didn't seem "precision" to me. Anyway, let me know if any of you have had similar situations. Thanks!

Hi Desh. Just installed mine today but didn't really feel a difference, I bought the kit for the bolt w the 2 springs, I put a tiny dab of grease on the bearing, any other suggestions to improve the lift?
Most of the time take it apart. Put it back together again works for 90% of these issues.

Do you still cut the coil with this kit?
If you are adding the washer to your bolt. You do not need to modify the springs. Just make sure that you know when was your rifle was made and specific model.

Just got one off eBay from you. But I have a question should you put some clp or a tiny bit of grease on the bearing. Is that bad to do or will it make it better or what?

You put the bolt handle on backwards. Common mistake.
@@GrimstodDeshI don’t believe it’s on backwards. It seems to only go on one way. It has one piece firing pin and is newer model.
Just ordered this for my Savage Axis and its on its way. I've been having light primer strikes and misfires on my rifle and I'm assuming the problem is the firing pin spring. It sounds like it's a common problem and mine was stored for a few months in the cocked position. I'm debating on either using a shim to preload the spring or buy another spring. What would you recommend? And would this potentially be a future problem if I store in the decocked position from now on. Thanks!
leaving it cocked will not damage the spring. they can be left cocked for decades with no affect. You probably have one of the short springs that have since been fazed out. I cover it in my latest video.
@@GrimstodDesh you are right. In your newest video, I have the shortest spring shown in the middle of the video. However, I also have the newest firing pin on the far right of the video. Kind of a mix match of parts. I've had this rifle for 5 years and never had a light strike problem. Now all of a sudden I have a 60% misfire rate. I installed the boltlift kit and kept the lock ring. This preloads the spring 0.03" so hopefully that will fix it. I also went to Lowes and bought some washers that I can stack on there too if needed. If you have any insight to what might have happened or how to fix, that would be awesome! Thanks for your help!

How did you straighten the pig tail. I tried straightening mine and bent it now the little pieces won’t sit flat on it and actually makes the action harder than stock. Can you send me to a new pigtail spring peice
Just bend it back to the way it came stock.
Would the savage axis bolt lift kit correct the issues with light primer strikes?
No that is a problem off the shelf rifles have too. It takes another rout of treatment to solve that.

No idea. I would watch my video on which bolt lift kit and decide with that.
it should work with the anarchy threaded bolt handle upgrade. There's a channel on here called Midwest Magnum that installed this bolt lift kit plus the anarchy handle (might be in 2 different videos that they made on their savage axis 2 precision .308 build) but they have them bolt installed and seems to work great which just led me to do the same upgrades. I just ordered my bolt lift the other day and should be receiving it any day.
Just put on the Anarchy bolt handle with the bolt lift kit and it works great together
How much torque should I put on the BAS
Finger tight. Savage over torques them sometimes to the point of damaging them.
I just purchased it but the last ring was not fit into the screw. What should I do?
I mean the sliver one that is between the bolt handle and the top screw.

Got one didnt notice much difference even with longer handle
I have bought 4 of them and installed them in rifles from the 80's to current production. It made a difference in evety single one of them. The newer rifles moreso than older.
I would recommend taking it apart and putting it back together again. If the bearing is not sitting flat inside it will not be as affective. This take apart and re-assemble has work for just about everyone.
If you didn't get an improvement you did something wrong. I didn't even use the bearings and got a drastically different lift.
Hard to believe, sir. This smoothed my bolt lift considerably and after I added a tactical bolt handle from Glades Armory, I no longer lose site of my target while cycling another round. I hope you were able to solve whatever the issue was.

Got mine in the mail not too long ago, it was for a Savage 110 tactical that I got new a year and a half ago... After watching this video I guess mine is the older firing pin and this kit won't work 🫤
Never trust the model number on your savage. They literally mean nothing these days. You have to open yours up to see what is inside.
