    It's been the best hardware I've purchased in years.

    That would be good, thank you Alckemy.
    You really get technical stuff, your Phaseplant knowledge is Testament to this.
    I struggle to hold information in my brain. Reading manuals don't work, it's like reading a map to me. Video tutorials is the way to go through repetition.
    I have used OXI to make freaky with some sounds already, but the cords stuff & poly rhymes could be a game changer for me. Like you said " its what you do with the synth noise after the synth has made it" : )

    It's a lovely piece of kit. You can use it straight out the box, but gwad only knows how long it's going to take me to learn it properly, probably never in my case.
    Your are right about it being very cool

      @@Alckemy Heck yeah! Mine arrives on the 22nd.. in spite of the numerous videos I watched, I didn't realise til after I bought it that it "needs sounds", I thought it was a groovebox _with_ a sequencer.. 😂😭
      Have an MPC Live and an OP-1 so I'm covered as far as sound generation; but in terms of practical, technical ability, I'm more than a little worried that I'll be way in over my head when the Oxi arrives.. I'm currently absorbing any and every instructional video I can find (there aren't many!) - every tiny morsel is appreciated lol
      Sub'd for sure 👍🏻

    this thing looks really sweet. i’ve been using a launchpad mini (the newest one) with the Launchpad 95 script for the sole purpose of live sequencing drums for shows, but since it’s only 8x8, it feels a bit limiting. i might have to check out the oxi.

    I know it's a sequencer, but man I wish it would have a mode to let you start/stop Bitwig scenes and clips as well. These 128 colored pads would make this an awesome device for performing with.

    Great in-depth video. Still, I would really love to see a video that goes deep into the actual “sequencer” part of the the Sequencer. 90 percent of the videos about OxiOone are just people making noises and use it as a toy. As a synth player I am interested in sequencing my 5 synths live and dawless. Anyways keep up the good work.

    • @Alckemy
      @Alckemy  4 місяці тому +1

      I thought I covered quite a bit so I’m not sure what you mean by the actual sequencing. Like a hardware setup?

      @@Alckemy Your video is just fine. I just made a general comment having seen dozens of Oxi videos. I just bought one so I can sequence my hardware synths live in real time, as in, live recording. In the 80’ and 90’ a sequencer was meant tu purely “record” midi notes, which is what I want it for (like Vangelis or Jarre). I just can’t imagine people using those buttons to set up melodies if they are not pressure sensitive. But don’t mind me, I am very old school. Cheers!

    • @Alckemy
      @Alckemy  8 місяців тому +1

      I haven’t really looked into the hapax but given the price it’s gotta have more features in some way. Stochas is a free plugin that can do some of what the oxi can I think

  • @navaga6701
    @navaga6701 8 місяців тому

    do you know any software (DAW or VST) with similar offset features?
    I prefer sequencers, but I don#t want it to be always on the grid

    • @Alckemy
      @Alckemy  8 місяців тому +2

      I know that ableton max has plenty of sequencer devices and bitwig can make its own version of offset steps via the note grid but I haven’t built one yet.
      I think stochas is a vst that can work off grid but I haven’t used it. Check out stochas.org ^^ and thank you for watching!
