@@Richard-t7q1f Boozhoo, user. I watched all of their shows,I think it was Tubi. And yes, you're right, they are very funny. I love to watch expression comedy. Like stan laurel, Buster Keaton. These ladies have that too. I wouldn't mind owning their d v d collection. Good call..
@@Richard-t7q1f Sadly Thelma Todd died a few days later under very mysterious circumstances. She had known to hangout with dangerous men with criminal pasts. Some like Groucho Marx believed she was murdered.
@@radicalross7700 Interesting observation! I just recently read about Thelma Todd's tragic passing at age 29 from carbon monoxide poisoning in December 1935. Zasu lived for another nearly 30 years and was 12 years older than Thelma as I recall. Thank you for sharing, sir. Appreciate it.
@@billsomody6928 If I may make another observation: Am I the only one who thinks Ms. Pitts looked and sounded almost like a live action version of Olive Oyl?
I agree. I watched all of their movies and I believe it was tubi about a year ago. These are some good wake n bake shows. I'm into expression comedy. People like stan laurel, buster keaton, Jerry lewis when I was a kid. Good call....
Note the bruises on Zasu's legs, most likely from doing all those stunts, such as the saddle acrobatics, etc. Great clip! What amazing entertainment that is so rare to see nowadays. Thank you
Nobody ever thought to get the continuity right, they could have just thought to have shot the scene on the saddle last, but obviously they didn't plan things accordingly.
I'm not surprised, the way they throw themselves into the work. Probably had a lot of falls rehearsing/filming the treadmill scene. When Thelma throws the guy into the mud bath, it sure looks like his head goes right into the wall!
The Great Depression is raging, Threats of war are just starting. The theater cost, maybe 2 or 3 cents. The news reels just played with all the bad news. Then the comedy plays.
i have always loved these 2 ladies, both seperately and together❤
92 years old and still wonderful. Wish these ladies could have known. England, October, 2024.
Funny, funny, funny! That last back projection shot is ridiculously out of scale...which is fine.
Very funny.The treadmill.😄📺😊
Why are not Thelma and Zazu much more famous. They are very funny.

And beautiful, especially Zasu.
Thelma died in 1935, time tends to forget the many excellent actors and actresses.

They were both famous back in the day. Zasu Pitts last film was "It's a Mad Mad Mad Mad World " back in the 60's.
Zasu and Thelma really were a great comedy duo! So very funny!😊
We agree!
I believe Hal Roach wanted them to be a female version of Laurel and Hardy. From the way they act, I'd say Thelma is "Olllie" and Zasu is "Stan".

The 30's answer to Laverne & Shirley!
Thelma strapped to a jiggly chair....let's see Garbo do that!
These two are a great comedy duo!
Thank you so much, this one has been hard to find online except for clips.
Big fan of these Brooklyn girls!!!!
Zazu Pitts is a hoot!!
The Lucy and Ethel of their day.
🤣Thank you 🥰🤣👍
Not sure how they fared but this sure cured what ails me!
Thanks for this 😃
Now that's entertainment!!!
Zazu mrs wiggs of the cabbage patch
Great! 😂
What great films ! ❤

Poor Zasu has big dark bruises on her legs @14:50
at 14:38 notice how bruised up Zazu's leg is bruised up, probably from the mechanical horse

I think that Hal Roach owned about a dozen records and used them as music beds for all of his movies. Little Rascals, this one, and others.
Zazu so dead pan
The background music in this Pitts-Todd short was also used in Laurel and Hardy and Little Rascals shorts.
My past life is Thelma Todd, and I'm A boy but Semador and or Pareey!
great
❤
I wonder why they put Thelma and Zasu in different outfits.
Wonderful...like a Laurel and Hardy female counterpart.
Was Zasu ever picked for the portrayal of olive oil
So you're saying she's the human version of olive oil.
But you're right she has that nasal drawl. Good call.
@@RichardStandingcloudthey copied her voice and mannerisms for the cartoons.
It seems she had the actions of the cartoon
THANX!!!
Les duos hommes ou femmes n ont jamais égalés le duo le plus célèbre du monde Laurel et Hardy les rois du rires pour l éternités.
It's spelled Zasu not Zazu and pronounced ZA'su
I don't get it.
I suppose somebody thought it was funny.
Those who produced it!
