one of my favorite parts of the mummy scene, is the fact that the song of healing keeps playing afterwards, it's honestly my favorite scene in the game. and I'm certain there's a part where you can have your masks examined, and it's said that the gibdo mask is filled with love between a father and a daughter. it's a precious scene to me
Hey Masae, one of your fans here. The Legend Of Zelda (the whole saga of course) it’s been always a very important things in my life and of course Majora’s Mask (my favorite game of all time) it means a lot to me. I deal with depression and anxiety, and watching this scene (Pamela and his father) is why I love Zelda, make you remember no matter how dark looks your path, there is always hope. No matter how many times i watched and played this game, always makes me feel really happy. Please continue playing and cheering up your fans. Kind regards.
I love Ikana so much. The elements of this game are so interesting, Forest, Ice, Water, and DEATH. Ikana's element is literally, Gibdos, ReDeads, Baubles, The Garo, Stahlfos. Dead trees, no grass, everything is literally dead in Ikana, the land soaked with blood. I. Love. It.
I'd say air is really the thing, cuz of the spirits and the like, not to mention the dungeon itself reaches for the sky ^^. All regions have an element to death in them just ikana has a long and bloody history, probably akin to hyrules history really
14:45 I wish that the epilogue (A New Day) would show Pamela and her father back in town. Perhaps they intend to wait until after the carnival to move back. Come to think of it, Pamela and her father seem to have been the only people who actually left Clock Town between the arrivals of Skull Kid/Majora and Link. I wonder what his profession was in Clock Town.
Fun fact: When I was a kid, went downstairs in that house, and that door opened, revealing the mummified father of that little kid, I IMMEDIATELY turned the game off and didn't touch it for a whole month.
the rumours about the garos near the ranch are because the gorman brothers, they have those masks and if we speculate we could say that they found the masks there, because the garos planed to invade ikana, and the ranch is on the same side of the map as ikana maybe they were scouts
Um, Not likely? I doubt it. The easter egg isn't that obscure that barely anyone else would know. In fact, there are many other similar comments to this one too now that I look.
Literal Trash You shouldn't get irritated if others unintentionally say the same thing you did afterwards in the comments; it's very common for that to happen regarding something happening in the video, especially with how many subscribers Masae has.
Can I just say that Pamela is one of the most adorable Zelda characters ever? I swear, she has one of the cutest character designs in any Zelda game, and its funny to think that this little girl is basically the one in charge of the house. And yeah, I love this part of the game. Pamela and her father get some of the most disturbing and heartwarming moments in the entire game, and that's saying something with everything else this game has to offer.
Sharp looks too bouncy and jovial with his new animation there. The gibdos on the other hand look better. They appear more threatening. :) I love the doctor's dialogue about your transformed state. Massive game theory fuel. :D
In the house, did anyone else catch the ofuda plastered on the wardrobe? Also, for those that don't know, ofuda talismans were used by onmiyoji monks to ward off spirits, summon them, etc. Really nice touch that they are where they are.
Possibly, since there's no real reason why that dialogue might exist otherwise. You can't read that dialogue unless you already have the mask, so it's not there to tell you where to find it. It must be for some other purpose.
Masae can you show off the Mask of Truths third use, to find hidden holes in Termina Field. Also the Song of storms when played to gossip stones seems to release a yellow fairy
This is why I love this place...Ikana... Can't wait you to do more with this place, and could you explore the middle of that Spring please? With Zora Link?
I always laughed when the Gibdos retreated onto the earth, mainly because I found it funny that they were scared off by Boo's Merry-Go-Round from Mario 64. Seriously, it sounds almost just like it but slower. Now that I think about it, sound a bit like the shop theme from Final Fantasy 1.
Mitchel Phlypo Funnily enough, the music meme channel SiIvagunner did a Music swap for the two tracks. So you had the instruments for the song for the music box house playing the merry-go-round song from Big Boo’s Haunt, and then you had the merry-go-round instruments playing the music box house song.
I think the Garos at the ranch the scientist is referring to are the Gorman Brothers, given that they wear the Garo Mask when they're out for Cremia's milk delivery.
17:32 The Garo themselves don't, yes, but remember: the Gorman brothers live there, and not only had a few Garo masks, but - as seen in Cremia's side-quest - used them to hide their faces in their attempt to destroy Cremia's cargo. It wouldn't be surprising if they had used the same tactic multiple times, giving a good reason for that rumor. That said, with the visual change of the Garo's mask, where it now looks like that of the Garo Master (instead of the Garo Robe depicted in the picture), it no longer fits the details given in the remake.
If you're noping out this hard already, Masae my dear, be glad that the Gibdos don't transmit Mummy Rot like they do in D&D. And that they're not Red Chompers. Because Red Chompers are horrible. Why you calling Saria, Masae? lol
Am I just weird? I'm a huge chicken, but I love the undead; skeletons, ghosts, and the like are super charming and I love it when they get built up as characters instead of just generic enemies. It's bugs that really scare the crap out of me...
Masae you should check out what the gossip stone at the title deed platform in ikana says. It's pretty cool. Also Sharp says something special if you play the song of healing for him.
hey masae I KNOW I KNOWWRONG VIDEO GAME do you know if its possible to complete ocarina of time 3d wihout the sun song cuz my friend is too scared of the redeads to get it
No kidding. All this gameplay surrounding death and restless spirits makes me think of how Ace died (defending someone he loved and not backing down from his dreams). No one wanted him to leave but he said himself that he had no regrets. Song of Healing NOT needed here.
Law's is the one that stabbed me in the feels the hardest... and it introduced me to my manga/anime husbando. I didn't think I would like Corazon at first because of his uncomfortable silence and deliberately hurting children. He proved me wrong and now I want to use his boa coat as a kotatsu during Winter in my house.
Masae, have you ever tried playing the song of healing to Sharp? He actually reacts to it. Sure, it won't do any good, but it still worth a try. Also, you should see what happens when you talk to Pamela, while transformed, after saving her father. She'll treat Link like a total stranger and kicks him out. EDIT: Oh yeah, I forgot to mention you can identify the Gibdos from the back of them. Just...don't get too close. And if you think Gibdos were horrifying enough for your taste, watch what happens when you shoot fire arrows at them!
I have a feeling that, if Masae is planning to 100% the game, she'll probably pick up Bombchus last. She has three empty item slots, but I won't spoil the other two just for the sake of possible first time players.
It's official. My 3DS is lost for good. It'll be at least a year before I can play any games again (need to get the money). *sigh* If only I had the Song of Healing to help me make peace with my fate like Link does for so many people in Majora's Mask. "Can you hear? Can you hear, the song that will set you free?" Just a couple of lyrics I came up with for the Ocarina playing of the Song of Storms; I did it with Sharp in mind, but it could also be asking the rain to fall down. This episode is full of my favorite bits in Ikana Canyon, and it will only get more mysterious and scary from here. I can't wait to see the soldiers in Ikana Castle but I dread seeing the Twin Mold again. Seriously, that thing is the stuff that insect-phobe nightmares are made of, especially if you fear insects burrowing into your ears. *shrug* It can happen, so don't judge me.
Hey Masae, not sure when you are playing on doing it but the heart piece for fighting the Poes has to be done before you beat the Stone Tower boss, so before in this cycle or you'll need to do it in another cycle, I always forgot about this. Also I think after you beat Stone Tower, Pamela's father will actually say he knows it's still Link even if he has a transformation mask on, I think, can't remember might just be in the N64 version
I think you are thinking of the mini boss re-fight heart piece, that's behind the waterfall, which you only need a certain amount of hearts and the light arrows, which you can do anytime. I'm talking about the house near the Music Box House, which Masae has pasted in this video, it has the sign next to it, where you have a fight against the Poe Sisters and if you beat them in the time limit you get a piece of heart. The thing is you can only do this while the restless spirits are in the area, in game terms it can only be done before you save the area, or killing the boss, so she would need to do the fight before she goes into Stone Tower, or she will have to start a new cycle to do the fight. I always forgot that detail, also I think that was the building she passed, might be wrong on that lol I mix up that house and the fairy fountain a lot. Also sorry for rambling
last Majora Oprea post from me for a while, so you guys can breathe easy. ua-cam.com/video/YV0dZnBHWn8/v-deo.html this is relevant to this episode, so enjoy!
for the land of Ikana you have the mask of a Garoh, the mask of a Stalfos, and the mask of a Gibdo, and none of them actually transform you or grant you any super unique abilities. that aspect of this game always disappointed me just a little.
Then you realise that the special thing you get in the next area more than makes up for the lack of spookiness. "I grant to you a soldier who has no heart. One who will not falter in the darkness"
The story of Pamela and her father tugs at my heartstrings more than any other in this game.
one of my favorite parts of the mummy scene, is the fact that the song of healing keeps playing afterwards, it's honestly my favorite scene in the game. and I'm certain there's a part where you can have your masks examined, and it's said that the gibdo mask is filled with love between a father and a daughter. it's a precious scene to me

Saria: Hello? Is someone calling me? Hmm, must have been a bad connection.

not2shabby
We got spooked by the silliest things as children... :3
not2shabby I know how you feel.
sounds like me when I got hit by the boulder going to the kokiri sword in OoT... except I didn't play it for years afterwards
not2shabby ouch
Mat the Gaming Rebel Jesus
Ikana is my favorite region in this game too. Despite the creepiness, I can’t get enough of the story involving this area.
How you even managed to play Saria’s Song with the 3DS ocarina controls is amazing.
Little girl asks Link to not talk to or show powers to her dad, Masae does all anyway XD

the rumours about the garos near the ranch are because the gorman brothers, they have those masks and if we speculate we could say that they found the masks there, because the garos planed to invade ikana, and the ranch is on the same side of the map as ikana maybe they were scouts
That looks like a problem that needs to be put under *wraps* ...
It may take a band - *age* to finish up though!
Don't worry I wont' tell anyone you said that. Mum's the word. :)
Minsc And Boo What is Chuggaaconroy doing here?
I think Masae needs her *mummy* after dealing with all those gibdos.
Minsc And Boo 10/10
you guys better keep all these puns under wraps.
Oh no the title! why would you wanna relive the nightmare that was Captain Toad's Mummy me final level?!
keero kamiya
Masae got Stockholm syndrome.
From what I've seen, Ikana seems like the most intriguing area in the game. I love how much there is to learn about in the region.
It's actually really mysterious, so many allusions and illusions as it were.
Triple Red Shell yep
13:04 Damn, It's hard to hold the tears back.
Masae, you should look up what happens when you play the song of healing for Sharp. There's an interesting bit of dialogue.
Not to be rude but did you read my comment it stated similar things and was made before this comment
Her dad has a little extra dialogue if you check the pictures in his room a second time, including a big ol' whoops moment for the gibdo picture.
Ikanna canyon is the most lore ridden area in majora's mask.
Wanderingsage7
And I love it for that.
the theories about it are so incredible to listen to. Things like the ancient Ikana people being the reverse religion (so to speak) of the Goddess.
Jamie Lamie I've a personal theory that Termina's version of Hylia is Majora.
Dinner-fork tongue agreed
I just noticed that Pamela stuck sealing talisman on the closet that held her father as a mummy
Minh Ngo My father is not a yokai like you.
Wouldn't the researchers comments about Garos being on the other side of town by the ranch be in reference to the Gorman brothers wearing those masks.
This region still scares me to this day
"My favorite area... GET OUT... of Majora's Mask.
You really hated that enemy...
Sharp looks too bouncy and jovial with his new animation there. The gibdos on the other hand look better. They appear more threatening. :)
I love the doctor's dialogue about your transformed state. Massive game theory fuel. :D
You can also show that he reacts to the song of healing... he says is a soothing song but it will not stop him
In the house, did anyone else catch the ofuda plastered on the wardrobe? Also, for those that don't know, ofuda talismans were used by onmiyoji monks to ward off spirits, summon them, etc. Really nice touch that they are where they are.
You forgot to show the easter egg with Flat and the Song of Healing.
"Near the ranch on the far side of town." You mean like...around where the Gormand Brothers are at?
Yeah, I think they're implying people mistake the Gorman Bros for Garos when they're out making mischief.
+Theo Aremevano
I actually think he's trying to clue us in as to why the Gorman Brothers had the Garo's Mask.
I like how after you talk to sharp masea doesn’t care that link is taking damage and just talks about the atmosphere
I guess after you play the Song of Storms, you can say that that is a.. river in a dry land
Bakuan Dun… Dun… Dun.
for the record, that’s supposed to be the guitar bit. 😎👍🏻
OOH! LOOKIN COOL Bakuan!
This kind of stuff scared the unholy christ out of me as a kid. You and me both Masea.
Masae ain't afraid of no ghosts.
Masae ain't afraid of no Ouran hosts.
...
... that may have been a stretch. o.o
Who you gonna call? MASAEANELA
ninjaydes perhaps Kyoya
This is why I love this place...Ikana...
Can't wait you to do more with this place, and could you explore the middle of that Spring please?
With Zora Link?
The gibdo's mask is my favorite part of the game! :D
That low-key shade, though. I knew I loved this series for a reason.
Flat Also has secret dialogue if you play the song of healing
Literal Trash Sharp, not Flat.
Jake Zero oops
I always, ALWAYS cry in this Pamela part of the game.
i can't imagine having to pass trough this with my father.
who ya gonna call? The Winchester Brothers lol
fun little fact about the spring water cave I found out my first playthrough, I tried playing the song of healing, and remember getting hurt faster
Oh man, I only just realized the Song of healing is Saria's song being played backwards...
Masae, you didn't read the dad's journal! It's pretty cool!
"Gluteous Maximus"? Really, Masae? XD I'm guessing that's the scientific name for a donkey x3
mmmm, nope. It's from our butts XD
gagejoseph91
Nope, it's the muscle that cyclists develop the most.
There was a cartoon where a charcter had a power with this name
It looks like some people have missed the donkey = ass = butt joke :P
Took me this long to figure it out XP
If anyone didn't get why Sara appeared, it is cause Saria's Song in reverse is the Song of Healing. Yes Masae played the song backwards
Chugga’s interpretation of the music house in Majora’s Mask: “REUSED MUSIC FROM MARIO 64!!!!!”
Ikana is everyone's favorite area, Masae.
"Screw that noise " lmao masae your so cuuuute
Sharp. Chubby red mustache
Flat. Thin green mustache.
Makes me think of someone else
Of course, the Gorman brothers!
Exactly. That also explains why people think there are garo near the ranch
I can never remember what happens in the Ikana area. The swamp, mountain and coast areas just seem more memorable.
somewhat ironic considering the entire terminian world seems to have forgotten the deeds that've happened there.
the song the music box house plays, Farwell to gibdo, is actually the same song played on the marry go round in big boo's haunt in super Mario 64.
Why didn’t you play the song of healing there’s a bit of interesting text when you play the song of healing before the song of storms
Masae, did you also realize that the inside of the house has the Song of Healing all over the walls?
hello Saria 12:44
The song that the house is playing is on the side of the house
If you're noping out this hard already, Masae my dear, be glad that the Gibdos don't transmit Mummy Rot like they do in D&D. And that they're not Red Chompers. Because Red Chompers are horrible.
Why you calling Saria, Masae? lol
AArg mummy rot!!
TheLastTrinityOmega
I see someone here played DnD :3
Because the Song of Healing is Saria's Song backwards.
+The Lightbox really? I never knew lol
The Lightbox
Obviously. I was poking fun at her derp.
Am I just weird? I'm a huge chicken, but I love the undead; skeletons, ghosts, and the like are super charming and I love it when they get built up as characters instead of just generic enemies.
It's bugs that really scare the crap out of me...
The song itself was nice, but what really brought it together was Links throat singing.
I'm 18 yrs old and im still afraid of Pamela's dad
Masae you should check out what the gossip stone at the title deed platform in ikana says. It's pretty cool. Also Sharp says something special if you play the song of healing for him.
- Me: *Sees the title of the video
- Immediately also me: "Are we doing Mummy Me Forever Maze again Masae?"
Masae knows all about the Mummy-Me.
I never bothered to talk to Pamela's dad after healing him. I never knew he researched ghosts and fairies!
So any grave yard in any of the zelda games also scare you masae? Like every one of them?
Ah, now we're getting into the really freaky stuff! This game, man...
lol i laughed super hard at the ending and its shift in tone
I finally caught up, I wonder if you'll talk about how creepy the canyon's theme is?
That mummy terrified me
Hey Masae, love your let's Plays, i need to ask would you play Breath of the wild or Skyward Sword???
Wait now I'm really curious: what happens if you use the Zora Mask to dive in the Spring Cave?
Bombs actually do nothing to get Pamela out. It actually does depend on distance or the Stone Mask.
The pillars along the walls in the music box, could that be played on the ocarina?
hey masae
I KNOW I KNOWWRONG VIDEO GAME
do you know if its possible to complete ocarina of time 3d wihout the sun song
cuz my friend is too scared of the redeads to get it
could it be that he thinks the ghosts/aliens from the ranch are garo as well? i can see the resemblence
if i had to guess, it would probably have something to do with the fact that the gorman brothers wear garo masks/hoods
10:20 I'd need something too if I was surrounded by the undead and I was in the house all day out of fear for my life.
This game is as heartwarming/ heart wrenching as One Piece.
No kidding. All this gameplay surrounding death and restless spirits makes me think of how Ace died (defending someone he loved and not backing down from his dreams). No one wanted him to leave but he said himself that he had no regrets. Song of Healing NOT needed here.
The backstories get to me the most.

EDIT: Oh yeah, I forgot to mention you can identify the Gibdos from the back of them. Just...don't get too close. And if you think Gibdos were horrifying enough for your taste, watch what happens when you shoot fire arrows at them!
I looove the gibdo scene
So you can get it on the ocrina
Masae, you kill me. The first "scientific name" you could come up with is the Latin name for a butt. You're amazing.
I would imagine that the rumors about the garo near the ranch are because the Gorman brothers dress up as them
I have a feeling that, if Masae is planning to 100% the game, she'll probably pick up Bombchus last. She has three empty item slots, but I won't spoil the other two just for the sake of possible first time players.
Bombchus aren't actually required til the final area so that's a pretty solid bet ^^
It's official. My 3DS is lost for good. It'll be at least a year before I can play any games again (need to get the money). *sigh* If only I had the Song of Healing to help me make peace with my fate like Link does for so many people in Majora's Mask.

question: is it possible to enter any of the other houses in this version?
and another thing: who else found that cutscene really messed up?
Did you know that the song for the music box house is actually the song from the carousel in super Mario 64.
I have to say I am surprised you didn’t show off the Easter Egg comments you get for playing the Song of Healing for Sharp before the Song of Storms.
Hey Masae, not sure when you are playing on doing it but the heart piece for fighting the Poes has to be done before you beat the Stone Tower boss, so before in this cycle or you'll need to do it in another cycle, I always forgot about this.
Also I think after you beat Stone Tower, Pamela's father will actually say he knows it's still Link even if he has a transformation mask on, I think, can't remember might just be in the N64 version
as far as i know it's before picking up the light arrows cuz the Poeseller moves onto his next location.
A huge Cucco?
...it's creepier with the caliope playing.
Masae, when will your next stream be?
While the garo dont appear near the ranch the gorman brothers wore masks of them in the original majoras mask
last Majora Oprea post from me for a while, so you guys can breathe easy.
ua-cam.com/video/YV0dZnBHWn8/v-deo.html
this is relevant to this episode, so enjoy!
THIS AREA HAS SO MUCH TO IT ALREADY COMPARED TO THE OTHERS KINDA INTERESTING DIDNT REALLY FEEL LIKE THERE WAS MUCH TO THE OTHER PLACES
The bottom of the well is something else I'll tell you right now
You *would* have to choose *that* scientific phrase. XD
What happens if you talk to tingle as a different race?
Jacob Wardlaw Nothing, he has the same exact dialogue.
He's one of those weird people in every Zelda game that recognizes you no matter what, like the mailman in Twilight Princess. XD
Theo Aremevano I see
Alex Parry for some reason
for the land of Ikana you have the mask of a Garoh, the mask of a Stalfos, and the mask of a Gibdo, and none of them actually transform you or grant you any super unique abilities. that aspect of this game always disappointed me just a little.
