If "the dude with the glasses" has issues with someone cutting apart model kits for parts servicing, then he'll have an aneurysm (and possible nightmares due to the saw I use) when he sees how I build my Frankenstein Gundam kits.
Great video! I like it how you involve the audience, making for a better more immersive, and encouraging experience. You work with US and not by yourself, I love that.
Wow, those just pop! Some great tips there on how to do leathery tones without it getting too muddy. Really enjoyed this episode , and the production is just getting better and better. Thanks for posting!
Great video as always! Really enjoying the b-roll you added, and the quality also looks really fresh. New camera? Either way the editing is really crisp and classy and I thought it enhanced what I already loved about your videos, which is your narration and in-depth explanation of your process and mindset. Keep up the good work!
It’s been really great to see your hobby journey and the evolution of your style come to life on your channel. I love these models, I assume these were the old Citadel Finecast ones. Truly atrocious, but it was a great rescue. I agree that sometimes you have to part out your kits as it’s better to have something finished that has your own unique take on it as opposed to just having a pile. Thanks for the video.
Rejoice! the Shrine of chaos blesses thee , Dave and Brent have called your name into the void and Grand-papa nurgle wishes to share his gifts! Plague and Pestilance be on you and you channel may the pus flow and bring you joy! (great content keep it up)
Pedantic Nerd Casey is always funny as heck! Those models are awesome, and every time I watch one of your videos it makes me want to score those models and put my own slant on them as a painter, for sure. Well done, sir!
@@minecraftsuperfriends1fan713 Oh I get that, I mean it's obvious that it's him with glasses and that the comment was meant as a joke, but I meant that if that was a real person, it would be the comment section personified and not a content creator,
I am constantly amazed at myself when I watch videos thinking there is only "my way" of doing things. LOL I thought, you have a 3D printer or will just create the parts from scratch. I of course wondered why you'd chop up perfectly good minis for spare parts. Then you dealt with what I was thinking in a clever way. Your minis, you're making the video, you do it your way, & the results are nothing short of amazing. Which also leaves you with more bits for future use & who knows what greatness will come from them on down the road? Great job!
Watching this video, was like watching the "Joy of Painting". im sitting there like, "Dont add any more! its perfect!" but you just keep adding bits, that only makes it better...! Have a sub Bud!
Dang those are great! Got a question. I've got two wh40k landraiders. They've been painted with testors enamel paint. How would you strip the paint off? Thank you for answers.
Thanks! Actually those particular models are ones I painted last Christmas...wow it’s been longer than I remembered lol. I’m hoping to get to ore Eldar stuff this year, it’s been too long!
Great vid and always good to see something old get used for something else. I would say that if you get a chance check out the new redgrass gaming paint handle, it's a game changer.
Hey Casey! Have you considered a bounce card for your interview style shots. I think a white card could help round out your lighting setup so its not so hyper contrasted. Love your content.
If you’re using an airbrush and the primer isn’t too thick then I just go over it lightly with more primer. If you need to completely remove it then soak it in LAs totally awesome for a few days and get at it with a toothbrush a few times while it’s soaking. Otherwise 99% isopropyl alcohol and a toothbrush will take it off in about 2 minutes. For me it all depends on how the mini looks, these models had a pretty light coat of primer, so going over it wasn’t a problem. Paint is usually pretty thin, it’s not clogging details unless it’s been globbed onto the model repeatedly, so in most cases it’s fine.

02:00: Kitbashing is a time-honoured tradition, and it's not unheard of for people to buy entire model kits for just 1 piece... don't see a problem here.
When painting the lighter skin tone, I always find it looking harsh, does it tend to dull down a little once dry or does that stark look remain. You model did not remain stark, mine continue to do so. What might I change to eliminate this issue?
Thin your paints. As it drys it will become more transparent and stand out less. The main trick is how much to thin them: not so much it is a glaze and needs 10coats per skin tone, but not so little that your dude has a big chunky oval of brightness on his forehead.
THE CHAOS GODS SEND THEIR REGARDS, MORTAL. YOU HAVE BEEN CHOSEN BY OUR LORDS AND PATRONS AS A SKILLED MEMBER OF OUR KIND.
Probably your best unit to date IMO. Great look overall! inspiring.
My favorite model wise is the black coach
They do look awesome.
i absolutely love the "post-comment-troll" part, its a great way to kind of hinder these kind of comments.
all in all, great job as allways

@George Wright Thanks for the info. Jesus Christ, what were they thinking? That's such a shame as their enamels are brilliant.

may be a dumb question but what do actually look up on ebay for these kind of models? id like to find some to experiment on!
Great work man. As always! 😊👍🏻
Kasey your a wizard with an airbrush! I can't even undercoat with mine, it always clogs up or the paint is too thin!

what do use to remove primer off plastic mini's?
