I've watched your channel James pretty much from its beginning and have enjoyed watching it grow, and while your videos have never failed to entertain me, may I just say that it's plain to see how your filming and editing skills have both blossomed. The opening of this video, with the haunting melancholic tones of Morrissey would have graced any mainstream TV programme and you should be rightly proud of it.
Wonderful opening cinematography, James, and the legend that is Morrissey adds to the feeling of loss and decay (coming from Wallasey I can appreciate it). Plus we get young Helen to cheer us up after a minute or two. Keep up the great work!
James that intro without doubt the best intro I’ve seen in 6 years well done mate. How gorgeous is Helen and you both just bounce of each other …. Never change both of you I’ve been there from day 1 qualityxx
The best days in all these types of Seaside Towns / places are long long gone, I often wonder IF it was possible to bring back the dead what they would think 🤔 It's such a shame how Britain now looks, and it's crystal clear where it's heading. Thanks again fella.
Exactly I’m glad you see the truth not like these idiots on UA-cam saying how great city’s are their absolutely blind to the truth how can people be so stupid
Great vlog. Loved the Morrissey playing over the opening titles. I totally agree with you regarding the gentrification of seaside towns ( I'm a Scarborian). Keep up the good work 👏👏
The beginning of this video was artistically brilliant ❤❤❤ Fantastic and so excellent. That was the best footage ever James. I was a photographer for 25 years before becoming a carer so being an image maker myself I thoroughly appreciated that superb footage ❤🎉 wow! So I have to congratulate you 😊
Sadly Morecambe, in my opinion, has suffered the same fate as many seaside towns up and down the country.....lack of investment and forward planning by property owners and numerous bad planning decisions by council leaders over the years. The same people who quite happily took their bags of silver when times were good.
Another fabulous video from yourself & Helen. Used to go Morecambe years ago, you’ve brought back so many lovely childhood memories. Luckily the buildings on the front are still the same
I think the plans for the Eden Project in Morecambe actually look like they could be really good. As for the small shops, yes it's a bit sad that they'll have to move premises, but I suspect they'll have more custom once more people start coming to Morecambe and there's higher footfall in general. Also....great intro 👌
Loved the opening of this video, you've out done yourself with this one James. Keep doing what you're doing, you're an amazing work in progress. Sad to see these cities losing their small businesses and I think a lot of people would agree, it's such a shame. I've been in the desert traveling around for 16 days now in the van, I love it. It was an awesome full moon rise over the mountain range tonight. So glad I am doing this kind of life, it suits me.
Visited just over a week ago from NZ🇳🇿Did the bracing walk along the prom and also the carvery.Had a great couple of days.Very fond memories of Morecambe and Heysham, enjoyed a couple 🍻in the old railway station.Midland was looking a bit tired even after the recent makeover.Would love to see the town get back on its feet.Get back to Lancaster, had a great day sightseeing too.
Heysham, Morecambe, Lancaster like many other Towns and City's are struggling with the economic down turn after COVID. They are all nice in their own way and feel better in the warmer weather. Glad the footage came out, considering the wind and pending storm. I agree the Eden Project will encourage more tourism but unfortunately and likely to the detriment of local businesses. James, nice to see you and Helen in my neck of the woods and I hope to see more of you in the area perhaps in the summer months. 😎👍
You’re right about rich second home owners buying up the houses and the locals suffering but…… it was the locals in the first place that sold out cos someone dangled a big fat cheque book in front of them . They can’t really complain that these places are ghost towns in the winter when it was them that’s the root of the problem!!!. Sadly money talks …. Great vlog you two!
No rich person is buying second homes in Morecambe. Trust me, I live there and nobody in their right mind would buy a holiday home. It's full of drug addicts and nonces.
your 💯 % right, look at the moaners in Cornwall, they need to look at their own who chose to stuff their bank accounts and then found they'd have to pay double to get another local home ..rich Londoners are the ones that won there !
Getting bloody arty 😂, what a fantastic opening , at least Helen was standing next to a slippery surface sign , I got Jean standing next to a “ no dogs on the beach “ obviously went on Facebook 😂great video
Hi Both of you, love your vlogs, back in the early 80's I used to work on Heysham Power Station once every six months. I used to stay in the Famous Midland Hotel and it was fantastic. The town was buzzing, full of contractors working on the Power Station so there was plenty of money about. You couldn't go in a pub without hearing the song The Crystal Chandelier being blasted out. Happy memories of my youth. Thank you.
I love Morecambe. It has still retained that friendly feel, which I love. I’ve lived here for 7 years, moved from Blackpool, and life is so much better here. I can walk along the promenade and feel totally safe. I live in the West End, which has been allowed to get run down but it never feels dangerous. There is a strong community spirit here, and lots of events are organised for the whole family to enjoy. Yes, it needs some investment and let’s hope it gets it. Housing developers are already renovating many of the properties around here. They are good strong buildings with lots of potential. I hope the Eden Project does good things for Morecambe, and doesn’t cause it to lose its charm.
Hi James ,I used to live in morecambe, you are right about councils being narrow minded and set in their ways. The plans they have for the Eden project are typically small town council.the Yorkshire street area should be redeveloped and the derelict land which used to be the fair used for the Eden project. Incidentally you should visit the Eden project in Cornwall. It’s great,it will also show just how small town morecambes council plans are
Hi James and Helen, only recently subscribed to your channel and loving the content, trips and travels. Crazy really I have been to the majority of the places you have been. I am hooked on north wales, south wales at the moment. Llandudno, Conwy north tenby saundersfoot south. Llandudno has Victorian charm, the great orme tram to the top with the cable car down. Won’t go on and on but I’m pretty sure the best place to park the van would be the car park past the grand hotel overlooking the pier, Irish Sea. Keep up the brilliant content Shaun +Pammy
Yorkshire Street in 70s when I was a kid was bustling, loads of shops. That church yer mentioned we stayed at what was the hotel next door called "inglenook hotel" morecambe was a very very different place back then even had 2 piers.
From watching you vlogs I think it’s the way you are both s natural. I imagine you would speak to me face to face the way you speak to the camera. Well done for vlogging in the worst storm of the year (so far!). Your editing skills are getting pretty flash James!
great video james spent many happy days ,the open air baths ,heysham for the nettle beer ,afraid morecambe lost its way when the hotels closed and they became dhss and it was famous ,beautiful sunsets but happy memories
Hi James and Helen ,that was sad to see that with all those places boarded up ,it looked a nice pub and the cafe looked lovely thank you for the vlog you had to suffer the weather fir us thank you so much ang
If you’d gone along the seafront in the other direction there is a lovely little park/gardens with a nice cafe of season, too busy on season. We go there as my husband’s mums boyfriend is in a care home near it. I love seaside resorts off season. I just want the sea and a quiet cafe.
Opening sequence fab. I was there in my Motorhome a couple of years ago and there were hundreds of Vans and Motorhomes right the whole length of the beach. Many many people about.
10/10 for staying power. Glad you gave Eric a visit. There is a fantastic music shop on the promenade. Every visit we bring home another guitar. Its getting to be an expensive hobby.
Great Vlog you two and I love your posh respectful voice James when you were talking to Brian, I do that apparently lol. That cafe was a credit to Morecombe, it would sit happily in any posh suburb in the country, hopefully it will encourage similar business to invest in the town. So sad to see a once jewel in the crown so neglected, it is criminal that we have allowed our seaside towns to fall into such states. Your editing is getting much better James, I loved the opening scenes, you really nailed it and the Vlog was an honest reflection, not in any way disrespecting, I loved it.
Loved the vlog guys! Utmost respect for the way you spoke of Morecambe. I did comment on your instagram when you mentioned going there and I basically said dont bother its so run down. Its so sad that these once bustling seaside towns have been allowed to decline. Lytham and St Annes are lovely you should take a trip there.
Another top vid. Watching a few older ones.....great to see your 'local' as I often recognise places and shops. Aldi Handsworth, Whitby chippy at Catcliffe, driving through Gleadless to Derbyshire (my own route) etc. Keep up the top work love the vids
Back in the late 70's i played in a band..did a season in Morecambe....it was really posh..tea dances...jackets and ties at dinner...what a shame...but great to see you two cheering up the town...great quote from the Yorkshireman..."flat cap on tightest setting".....
Ive been a silent watcher for a while, but had to comment about the seagulls and the music you put with them.. absolutely brilliant, made me laugh out loud … 😂
James and Helen, I just discovered your channel and must say how refreshing it is. I find you do a very professional job, James, the videography and editing is great and from what I've seen, the choice of topics diverse. Helen is a delight. And the incidental music you choose strikes me as very tasteful. There's a lot more depth to you both than you put on camera and i love that you're so natural. I like how you've shown some really attractive features of your region - all new to me. I've been living abroad for the last 35 years but my family is originally from near Barnsley and near Doncaster. Because of my Dad's work we lived abroad and in the Midlands and the Southwest. My memories of visiting family in Sheffield and Rotherham are of the rare warm days and the frequent cold ones! Hearing you both speak makes me feel you're distant family. What you've taught me is that it's definitely worth making the effort to come to the area both sides of the Pennines when I'm visiting the UK. Thank you again for your hard work and genuineness. All the best, Rob in Switzerland
In peak season Morecambe is busy and buzzing, of course it looks dead in winter, in a storm 🙄 If you're not made of money, Morecambe is affordable, and in this cost of living crisis that's got to be welcome for less well off families ❤
Morecambe used to be brilliant when i was growing up in the 80s and 90s.There's not as much for kids as there once was though my niece who's from london loves the arcades 😂 I agree with the fella you met about the view!
Another great vlog. Shame to see the coastal towns of Britain struggling so much hopefully they can bounce back but it will need a lot of investment especially in small businesses.
Loved the opening James .We have watched you from the beginning love you both, ten out of ten for perseverance in that weather. Another sad deprived town .
My brothers just moved to Morecambe and I like it. Been there a few times before. I think it can be cheery and with them hopefully bringing the Eden project there should help it a lot. It's a bit more connected than Blackpool which is another run down town :c
We spent a few days in Heysham, just down't road a few years ago and went in to Morecambe every day. We passed The Station a few times and I didn't realise it's a pub! Booger. Looks nice, too. But we did visit the Wetherspoons Eric Bartholomew a lot.
Your shows get better and better especially when featuring your lovely Helen ! Looks great today, apart from those boots !!!!!!!! Looking forward to ALL your next shows, keep up the good work !!!
Wow. Beginning & middle scenery w/music very evocative. Love the interview with the local man (Brian?). Poirot was filmed there!- what a great piece of trivia. Food shots looked lovely - next level. 😊
I really enjoy your cut outs, where you show some of the area along with Morrisey, etc, playing. I really enjoy that. I've only watched about 10, at the moment. I'll get through them all,.or keep up with you. I think they're bloody brilliant 😊 keep them coming, James & Hellen ❤
Just to let you and Helen know we watch all your videos ! Both me and nik think you are both great ! Keep em coming ! Keeps me going ( don’t get out much these days ) lovely to see you Helen ! You are such an amazing person !! Miss our work chats x
Well done guys for soldiering on ,,,sterling job in those conditions ,,,the Eden project is one of cornwalls biggest attractions housing flora & fauna from all over the world set in 5 massive bio domes including a tropical rainforest,in the summer it also hosts concerts Robbie Williams being one of many who have performed there,,,unfortunately the season for holidaymakers in the uk is not on par with the sunnier parts of Europe where people tend to take their winter breaks as it’s often cheaper than staying at home ( switch the heating off for a fortnight lol ) 👍🏽
Need to find some easide towns that are turning this decline around and how they are doing it. Coastal towns and cities in the UK. Historically, many coastal towns in the UK relied heavily on industries such as fishing, shipping, and manufacturing, which have experienced decline in recent decades. This economic shift may have contributed to the decline of these areas. The shift in holidays in the sun over decades has a massive impacct , its so sad to see all this decline everywphere. Luckily we have you to loveley people who can brighten up the dullest of days wherever you are.❤❤❤❤
James, head up to the north-east coast,Whitley bay, tynemouth, cullercoats(named in a Dire straits song, "Tunnel of love")and the fish& chips are fabulous😊
That intro 😍 was really artistic - you're so accomplished at those moody yet beautiful shots, and having (the God that is) Morrissey as the accompanying music is F A B U L O U S 💫🙌. Helen that dress is so gorgeous! As for the gentrification of the seaside towns ( you missed a trick there James - 'Everyday is like Sunday ' by Mozz describes seaside towns perfectly) it's really sad. They say it's progress, but I think they are ripping out the character of those towns and England as we knew it, it's gone. So sad 😢. Great video as usual - you two are a tonic. Thank you for taking us with you 😊✌
The opening to your videos are getting better each time, best wishes to you both, me and my partner Michelle always look forward to new content from your channel x
My ex and her sister bought a static near Morecambe for a few years (until they realised what a money pit it was) and we spent many a time in the campsite as Morecambe was just in such a depressing state (and I used to live near Rhyl!). Almost every UK seaside town have had to improve to battle against cheap flights abroad and / or turning into a 'buy & die' area. Most have failed and have ended up as depressing places, with no future and, unfortunately, drug problems.
Look forward to your ventures every week. Given us a some good ideas of where to visit. Ask Helen where she got her boots from she has on in this video, love them!
I moved to morecambe from barnsley with my mum and stepdad in 1989, we had many a good year there before moving back, sadly morecambe now is a shadow of itself
OMG you certainly make sacrifices for your art, poor Helen I bet it took a while to get the tangles out after that. Still you found a coffe shop and a pub, Helen even found a charity shop that was open. So well done for salvaging a very credible video out of what was a weather catastrophe. Let’s hope the next video is made in tamer times. Take care and stay warm and dry, don’t want either of you going down with anything.
Maybe you guys should have a look at the Eden Project . Have to say , it would be very high on my list of Over-rated attractions (probably 1st , actually) . As a northerner , £150 for a family of four to look round a big greenhouse feels a bit steep !
Hi guys Thanks for the vlog about Morecambe. Such a sad decline of the British seaside resort , but there is hope on the horizon. What a fantastic thing to happen to not just Morecambe but the north west. The council need to get on the ball and fast. Looked way to cold for me though. You need to revisit when the project is on its way and see the difference. We will certainly visit Morecambe, maybe as a stop over to the lakes. Thanks again and the opening scenes and music was ace. Cheers guys. John and celia Widnes

I totally agree, James has blossomed and doing great with his channel. I’m proud of him, I looked forward to his uploads 😃
Absolutely brilliant loads of love from Morecambe
Another of our seaside resorts dying. Only visitors are Asylum Seekers. LEVELLING UP!!! Don't think it will ever happen.
you mean the illegal immigrants.
It’s not dying. Morecambe died in the 90s - it’s actually
Slowly - very slowly - reviving! Really needs Eden to get built asap tbh
Wonderful opening cinematography, James, and the legend that is Morrissey adds to the feeling of loss and decay (coming from Wallasey I can appreciate it). Plus we get young Helen to cheer us up after a minute or two. Keep up the great work!
Thank you, I thought the song was perfect for it 🙂
James that intro without doubt the best intro I’ve seen in 6 years well done mate. How gorgeous is Helen and you both just bounce of each other …. Never change both of you I’ve been there from day 1 qualityxx
Helen your hair was lovely not a strand out of place and must have cost a fortune … then you went for a walk …. Love it xx
Thank you, I appreciate that 😊
Love the music James👍 such a pity about our decaying coastal towns though. 🙄

Wow. Beginning & middle scenery w/music very evocative. Love the interview with the local man (Brian?). Poirot was filmed there!- what a great piece of trivia. Food shots looked lovely - next level. 😊
Great blog as usual, keep up the good work, it’s very much appreciated. 😊
Thank you! Will do!
Despite morecambe being a hole now, you will see some of the best sunsets in the country across the bay behind the hills of the lake district.
Thank you mate

Awwwwww thank you Loraine. I miss you too. Hope you and Nik are well 😘 xxx
I live in Morecambe beautiful in sunshine best eva n close to all ,lakes or night life cities ✌️😜🏴
Great vlog , enjoyed it very much.
Hi there mate that's place is
Like Melbourne Victoria Australia you have 3 or 4 different weather conditions like England mate
Love the statue tribute to the great eric morecambe it looks very cold down there im not far off retirement may end up there lol another great show 👍
Now THAT is bracing!! Lovely cafe food, local colour, charity shops and a Guinness - class day out. 🙂❤️
Love the video man keep up the great work
That intro 😍 was really artistic - you're so accomplished at those moody yet beautiful shots, and having (the God that is) Morrissey as the accompanying music is F A B U L O U S 💫🙌. Thank you for taking us with you 😊✌
Thank you so much :-)
Yorkshire street was once a wonderful shopping street
Thanks you both for braving the wind in Morecambe ❤
Stunning opening sequence worthy of a bafta😮
There is no weather British people will not endure for a nice pint! Great entertainment!😊 Thank you James and Helen❤
The opening to your videos are getting better each time, best wishes to you both, me and my partner Michelle always look forward to new content from your channel x
Thank you, glad you like the videos
Love the way Helens hair merges in with her coat ,super cute ❤ and you are too ❤🎉🎉
Haha like a lions mane 😂
Tuff times for lots of ppl still but you and Helen make life bearable as always ty both 😊😊😊
Thank you 😊❤️
My ex and her sister bought a static near Morecambe for a few years (until they realised what a money pit it was) and we spent many a time in the campsite as Morecambe was just in such a depressing state (and I used to live near Rhyl!).
Almost every UK seaside town have had to improve to battle against cheap flights abroad and / or turning into a 'buy & die' area.
Most have failed and have ended up as depressing places, with no future and, unfortunately, drug problems.
Cool vid dude, your editing is very good these days.
Look forward to your ventures every week. Given us a some good ideas of where to visit. Ask Helen where she got her boots from she has on in this video, love them!
I got them from Matalan! Only in December, bet they are on sale now. I think they have people divided 😂 they either love them or hate them 🤣
Hi ya im a southener but ive visited morcombe many many times and enjoyed my stay there love your vlogs you two are the best❤❤
Best intro ever. I’ve got hope for Morcambe.
Thank you
I moved to morecambe from barnsley with my mum and stepdad in 1989, we had many a good year there before moving back, sadly morecambe now is a shadow of itself
Doing a great job both of you martin tracy x
Thank you
OMG you certainly make sacrifices for your art, poor Helen I bet it took a while to get the tangles out after that. Still you found a coffe shop and a pub, Helen even found a charity shop that was open. So well done for salvaging a very credible video out of what was a weather catastrophe. Let’s hope the next video is made in tamer times. Take care and stay warm and dry, don’t want either of you going down with anything.
Thank you, it was touch and go whether we should pack up and leave!
Hi James &Helen Nice chap in the coffee house, so cold and windy,it's 27deg today in finestrat enjoying video as usual take care 👍

Thank you Sandra
Grate vlog James & Helen you dun well to record any thing in that whether.
Maybe you guys should have a look at the Eden Project . Have to say , it would be very high on my list of Over-rated attractions (probably 1st , actually) . As a northerner , £150 for a family of four to look round a big greenhouse feels a bit steep !
Great video, was good to see the place as ive never been, keep up the good work.
Hi guys
Thanks for the vlog about Morecambe.
