It's mad funny that I was gonna replace the whole actuator for 100 bucks on my E55 W211 and realized that I could spend 10 bucks on a spring to fix it. Then I saw the duct tape fix and tried it and I fixed it for free. Thank you for the ghetto fix🤣
Thanks for the video! I am having the same issue with a SLK R171 2004. Do you know if the same kit works for SLK as well? Looking online there is no kit directly for SLK. Thank you very much :)
I went to this nightmare on my ML 320 3 times 3 locks got problem with bouncing lock and now I have #4 to do but your tape trick works so I will leave it be. I actually had problem with vacuum and not the spring so need to replace the hole actuator
Would this also work for an ML 320? Also, I have tried to do the repair on the door lock switch you showed as an example at the beginning of your video. The problem is my locks don't unscrew, or I can't get them and screw can you give me any suggestions?
Nuthin 2 it but to DO it, right? Strong work! It is similar assembly on E320-CDI. Car D ologist did a YT video on complete replacement of passenger door lock actuator with a new unit due to suspected electrical failure on his but this will be much more cost-effective if unit can actually be repaired with just a spring & put back in-service. I have seen passenger door do this machine-gun effect a couple times so setup fob to only unlock driver door on 1st button tap & other 3 stay put unless I tap it again.
More moving parts = more problems. Mercedes = more expensive. Mercedes + more moving parts = more problems + more expensive. Not worth it. Especially for a product that claims to be superior to others.
deezynar Mercedes built in Germany are different from Mercedes in America. American Mercedes are shit. Mercedes built and used in Germany are of a higher quality.

have you done this on a SL ? same era?>
would it be the same procedure more or less? do you need to drill and destroy rivets holding the regulator?
I think I'll just get a replacement door 😂
glad I found this video. Was about to drop $60 on a new actuator for my e class
