The gods have been watching. I just cut my wedding dress from 1974 apart yesterday and was wondering if I would end up simply throwing it away. Well, now I see a wonderful way to make it last a bit longer and serve a very lovely purpose as well. Thanks for this tutorial.
Perfect timing! I’m so glad you stopped and I hope you make a few. Thanks.
They turned out really great! The shiny side wasn't that bad looking at them. That project would be a great ring bearer pillow!
Oh that’s a great idea!! I never thought about that. What a neat way that would be to remember someone during a wedding! Thanks for that and for watching!
What a great idea! When one of our granddaughters got married last year we were in the middle of decluttering. She asked for a handkerchief made from my wedding dress. The base was the satin, overlaid with chiffon as the dress was, with a medallion from the lace in one corner. She loved it! I've saved enough of the fabrics to do the same for our other grandkids.
Oh how lovely! It is so much fun seeing with special fabrics that have a lot of meaning. Thanks for stopping by!
Oohhhhh Claudia👏👏👏
What a fantastic option! I think it’s wonderful when people use and keep things from their lineage. Your friend will be so delighted I’m sure🥰
Thank you for sharing your thoughts and ideas!!! ❤️😀
Hi Claudia, You did exactly what I would have done. I’m not sure how many years ago I worked with that same fabric but I had the exact same experience as you did. You did an excellent job demonstrating and I had to laugh a few times because I had experienced the same things! 🤣🤣🤣👍 Take Care, 🥰 Chris
Hi Chris. Satin is definitely tough to sew with but I love the way these turned out. I hope my friend will like them.
Surely she will, they look so Elegant, great job❣️
Beautiful idea! Excellent job!
Thank you so much! I hope you give it a try!
Perfect timing, I was just about to look for a project like this!
Glad I could help! These are so much fun to make!
Love this!!
Thanks so much!
The Lavender Sachets turned out very nice. Lavender smells good to us; however, lavender is a natural insect repellent. You shouldn't have any trouble with any flying bugs in your sewing room while you are making those Sachets. I hate working with that type of fabric and lace. If it sticks to my hands, I don't want to work with it, I don't want to wear it, and I don't want to own it. Those Sachets should work great where wool sweaters and silk items are stored.
Interesting. I did not know that about lavender. I'll have to remember that! We always get a lot of bugs in the summer! Thanks for watching.
