These three lavender harvest/processing videos got me to finally pull the trigger. I did not realize how little yield there would be, and thus that I need to plant/divide to upscale. I appreciate the thorough yet concise explanation. So rewarding throughout the process. Breathe deeply...ahhh.
Thank you for this lovely vidéo ! I am just about to do this in Normandy (France). Our weather is not as warm as it should be right now - it is very much too hot elsewhere in Southern Europe, so we are trying not to complain about the chilly mornings and coolish afternoons 🤷♀️ We are actually very lucky, I think……) I don’t have all the wonderful sifters you made (Too much like hard work for me 😂), I will be doing this by hand. I have about four square yards of lavender to work with (a generous friend’s lower hedge in her garden, which she would just leave alone otherwise) and will be distributing the sachets to family and friends ☺️
Hi Linday just found your channel and subscribed. Thank you so much for your easy method on how to harvest lavendel. Will try your method this summer and see what happens. Looking forward to more videos !!!!!
Hi, I'm trying to do the same, but I notice that my lavender flowers have little brown mites. Naturally I don't want mites (or whatever they are) around my house. I'm wondering if you've seen them and what do you do to get rid of them in the prep? Thanks!
Super helpful and clearly and efficiently walks through the process. What if my lander has dried on the bush? Can have three varieties of lavender Spanish, English and French does this matter?
Some varieties are more fragrant than others. You can let them dry on the plant, but you have to watch it carefully not to miss the right moment. Best to follow directions in the videos we made about harvesting and pruning, so that your plants can come back strong next year.
Your lavender harvesting video series is clear and simple to understand. Thank you!
Thank you for making this series of video about Lavender harvesting. It's super helpful.
I love the sights and sounds of your garden. I just harvested two big Hidkotes and have fifty sachets. My house smells so good tonight.

Such a straightforward and helpful video. What about washing the lavender prior to culinary uses?
Yeah, you can do that. Just make sure it's dry before you store it.

Great video! Where did you purchase your smaller sifter?
It's been around for years, nobody remembers.
Thank you for, this great tutorial! What size are the holes in your smallest shifter?
They are pretty small, like the kind you use for tea leaves.
👍👌
Beautiful, what can I use if I don’t have a sachet bag?
You can use cotton cloth bags.
You are adorable!😊
Do you dry it outside in the sheet?
Yes, make sure to watch our other video that shows how we do that
Are Kaluxes (sp?) the buds?
Calyx - the sepals of a flower, typically forming a whorl that encloses the petals and forms a protective layer around a flower in bud.
Do the stems grow back ok.
Make sure to cut our other video about pruning the plants. Yes, they regrow very nicely each year with proper care.
I would take the stems out first .😎
Hi there are you on clubhouse?
Oat grass
No need for all the sifting just run your fingers down the stem. The buds come off easy
