Time flies I remember it like it was yesterday I was running down the halls in the school and now I'm growing grey hair. Gotta enjoy life that's what he did
I am 46 this year and have grown up with radio legends who called our sports. Max McGee, Jim Irwin and Bob Scott are as great of broadcasters as have ever been and none of them held a candle to Bob Uecker. Bob Uecker being gone is a lifetime of calls and jokes that landed harder than Prince Fielder falling off the upper decks. Bob was not only a legend in media he was the greatest one across all sports and someone who belonged to our Brewers despite all the other fame that came with those jobs. Bob would have been able to work in Hollywood for his entire life had he chosen that path. HE was popular enough to be a fulltime movie star but Bob did not do that! Bob would never leave WI baseball while he was alive. He was where he was meant to be and lead us through some of the worst baseball seasons imaginable. No matter how bad our Crew was that season at least we had Bob making it entertaining to listen to. We lost something special this time around ! We all are lesser people after today.
I've never met the man, but I feel like I've known him my whole life. He was the soundtrack to my summers. I remember being a kid, riding my bike around with the other kids on the block, coming back to brats on the grill, grabbing an orange soda and hearing the Ueck on the radio announcing Brewers games. In the last couple years, whenever he would do playcalling for games and someone hit a home run, I would listen in closely and re-listen to them as if I just heard an official announcement to the end of a war. I knew there wasn't going to be that many games left in him. He was the best. The sport won't be the same without him.
BA did a great job keeping it together for this interview until the end. And hes absolutely right. Bob Uecker for brewers fans is different than what everyone else got to see. An absolutely special man behind the microphone. I grew up listening to Ueck during those awful early 2000s brewers but he was a must listen every night. He was almost like listening to a game with a friend with the stories and how genuine he was during the broadcasts. There will never be another one like him. Rest in Peace, Mr. Baseball
I've been lucky, I've had Bob and the Brewers since I was 6 in1982. Seeing BA break up at the end really got me. Been a rough day, but so many great stories.Thank you Bob for your loyalty and your humanity.
Sad day here in Wisconsin, the voice of summer for generations. BA is great too. Matt V gets it, he is one of our own too , was our young TV guy until he moved up the career ladder. Still have Bill Schroeder , the Rock. Uke will be missed big time, Much loved. RIP Bob.
Like all radio announcers Bob was the eyes and voice for all the fans who never had the chance to see a baseball game live. Thousands of us Wisconsinites listened to the Brewers just to hear him broadcast a game.
RIP Bob. Thanks not only for your service (I’m an Army retiree). And more importantly thanks for the laughs and memories. You did the Brew Crew and Wisconsin proud.
Some people have so much love for someone that you can see the story like a movie. You did that BA with the golf story. Sending condolences to family and friends and of course all of us the brewers fans! Thank you Bob for everything!!
Vin Scully never gave the Hometown voice going higher when something exciting was happening ... some people might not like that but for a kid listening to the Brewer radio in bumfukk Wisconsin it was everything. The end of an era in Milwaukee and Brewer baseball !!
You and I both know those teams had zero chance of winning a championship. At the end of your life,…that’s all that mattered. If you ever heard Bob’s voice during the last out of every season for 40 years, as I have, you could tell it mattered to him, too.
Having spent a decade listening to Uecker in Milwaukee and a decade listening to Vin Scully in Los Angeles, I would pick listening to Bob over Vin any day of the week.
GET UP! GET BACK! GET OUT OF HERE ! GONE! I think Jackson Chourio needs to realize how special it was that Uecker got to call his first homer! I am wildly happy Bob got to see Jackson Chourio come up. Bob at least got to see the Rookie season of the greatest Brewer. See you when it is my time to go Bob. We will all have to get into Heaven now just so we get to listen to Bob's call on the World Series that the Brewers finally win it all . That was a missed opportunity and no one deserved a Championship more than Uecker. WE all said it at least once. The Brewers will probably win the World Series the year Bob dies. That is a joke Bob Uecker would think was hilarious! WE will never listen to baseball the same way after this and the Brewers just lost the one thing that made them more special than the entire MLB so now they must win to cover for the lack of Bob in the booth making this team great.
He was never funny. Quite frankly was a boring and unlikable personality. He was a terrible announcer and a fairly awful ballplayer. We mourn his loss. But he wAS NEVER an elite announcer. Plus he was a buddy selig stooge
This will be the first Summer of my life I will not hear his voice during a Brewer game
Same...
Yep. And I’m almost 49.
Time flies I remember it like it was yesterday I was running down the halls in the school and now I'm growing grey hair. Gotta enjoy life that's what he did
I’m a Royals fan and that hurt reading.

BA is a legend in his own right. Wisconsin is lucky to have had Ueck and also Brian Anderson.

BA's emotion at the end sums up how all of us Wisconsinites are feeling right now. RIP, Love ya Ueck!
He was a terrible announcer and an un funny man 😢
@@opticscolossalandepicvideo4879 really edgy.
@@adamjolin sorry he passed. Was around for 30 years too long not anywhere near a hall of fame broadcaster. He was a hack. Unfunny unoriginal
Chief Wahoo and the Cuyahoga Warriors are grieving tonight... Thanks for all the laughs, Bob and GO INDIANS!
Love me some Bob Uecker and sad he's gone. But with 90 years lived, he had a really full and wonderful life.
Oak Creek WI born and raised . Skipped school for opening day at County Stadium , Cheers and God Speed with a Miller Light 🍻
BA at the end is all of us in WI today. RIP Bob.
I tuned into Brewers games regularly--just to hear his voice.
I live in Chicago and back in the day WTMJ would come in clear in daytime I would listen to him and he was a fantastic broadcaster.
Wisconsin lost a friend today. I’ll
Miss his voice forever…. Today is a sad day.

His Letterman appearance is legendary 😂 Good stories dude!😊

Milwaukee Brewers radio network will never be the same without Bob 😭
I'd forgotten Matt Vasgersian was the Brewers TV voice before Brian Anderson.
The Brewers have really spoiled their fans with some tremendous broadcasters.
RIP Bob. Thanks not only for your service (I’m an Army retiree). And more importantly thanks for the laughs and memories. You did the Brew Crew and Wisconsin proud.

Legitimately BA is a legend in his own right when it comes to doing Brewers games or doing prime time games on TNT
Love u BA and rip to a legend 😔😔
I'm hurt and so sad. Go brewers and On Wisconsin!!!
Great stories, Brian!
Vin Scully never gave the Hometown voice going higher when something exciting was happening ... some people might not like that but for a kid listening to the Brewer radio in bumfukk Wisconsin it was everything.
The end of an era in Milwaukee and Brewer baseball !!
YT, if you haven't already, bring up Uecker and hawk harrelson WSox brewers together swapping stories hawks last yr. Great stuff
Up until this moment , I didn't know Uecker played in the MLB
See in the front row, rookie!
Kind of a tumultuous off-season for MLB
He was supposed to live forever.
He deserved so much more than the mostly sh!t Bud Selig and Mark Attanasio had to over him.
Wouldn’t call winning the division 4 of last 6 years shit
He loved Milwaukee. And Milwaukee loves him.
You and I both know those teams had zero chance of winning a championship.

Vinny over talked. Bob was never funny

Major league introduced Mr. Baseball to the world. Rip youk! You were the man!
Wow. Anderson says Scully was the greatest then Uecker??? I could never listen to Scully. He wouldn’t keep quiet ever. Uecker was the best by far.
😭

Clown comment
@ he was never elite announcer. Just a hack.
@@opticscolossalandepicvideo4879 Takes one to know one troll.
Not funny not a great announcer. Sorry he passed. But he was a buddy selig pal
