I've never met the man, but I feel like I've known him my whole life. He was the soundtrack to my summers. I remember being a kid, riding my bike around with the other kids on the block, coming back to brats on the grill, grabbing an orange soda and hearing the Ueck on the radio announcing Brewers games. In the last couple years, whenever he would do playcalling for games and someone hit a home run, I would listen in closely and re-listen to them as if I just heard an official announcement to the end of a war. I knew there wasn't going to be that many games left in him. He was the best. The sport won't be the same without him.
Wow dude - I couldn’t have put it any better. My dad had the clock radio tuned to WIBA AM & it was on every day all day. I still remember feeling lost the season of the strike (81?) Not many parts of my childhood still around. The way it goes eh?
I admired his relationship with The Make A Wish Foundation. They allowed my nephew to go to Disney World due to his genetic disorder. Thank you,Bob, for making a little bit of his time here on Earth a little bit happier and more fun! We,in Milwaukee, lost a favorite son and will be sorely missed.
ive been playing a lot of mlb the show 19 recently for some reason, and hearing matty v constantly. then ueck dies today and these hot stove videos are popping up in my feed. i spent entire summers listening to bob. 2008 was amazing, you could hear it in his voice all year how happy he was to finally get back to the playoffs. its exactly what mccalvy said; he was one of the guys. there was no detachment, like there is for almost every other media person in sports. ueck was the crew. this is hittin me hard. i'm glad to see there are other people who are feeling this loss.
Sabathia pitching all of September on 3 days rest ending it with a CG shutout vs the Cubs…what a run. Bummer none of the brewers teams since that one were able to pull thru to win a World Series while he was still with us
Adam, I enjoy your work. We all miss Bob, I’m sure it’s a lot more intense for you. I love the Brewers even more, now that I understand why the team was so emotional after the brutal loss. I’m not a fan of the wild card. A 3 game series negates a 162 game season.

I felt like i knew him personally. I heard him. And it became a steady part of my life. We will miss him.

This will be my 36th summer on earth. My first summer of tuning into 620 and not hearing Mr. baseball 😢
RIP Bob and also I worked with Adam at The Daily Cardinal.
