    Best spark plug install video ever! I couldn't find the double joint socket but I worked it out with a swivel joint socket and a universal joint attachment. Great job and thank you! 👍

    I did this a while back, wow that spark #5 gave me such a hard time! I had bought a single swivel socket, but it wasn't enough. Needed to double it. The passenger side was such a pain to do, aha, but everything turned out fine. Gapped my HKS M45il 0.23" and I can run jb4 maps 0-5 w/o any problems (w/ octane additives up to 100). Nerve-racking day, but totally worth it.

    thanks for the great video. i ordered the tools and this video gave me confidence to do the work myself. #5 wasnt that bad following these instructions.. getting the #5 coil pack back in place was the only difficult step to figure out for me.

    Literally just bought a swivel socket for when I need to do the plugs on my 2022 Elite; great vid! I've never torqued plugs tho lol hand tight is good enough as our hands can easily torque to 20ftlb. I use dielectric grease on my boots; glad you showed the greasing portion as a lot of ppl forget that

    Great video: I used these tips to change out my plugs without removing the intake manifold. It took longer to find the coil pack bolt that I dropped into the engine bay than it did to swap the hard plugs!

    Thanks man, I got it done tonight in a couple hours. Only thing I didnt have was the swivling 10mm so I had to use a small ratcheting wrench to get those passenger side 10mm’s off. It was a pain but was still possible! Thanks again!

    Thanks for this video! When I looked at the location of that #5 COP I thought for sure I'd need to get that manifold out of the way. Glad I looked it up! A spanner works well to crack the COP bolt on the tough side if you can't get the uni on there quite enough (like me).

    lol my buddy did everything for me thankfully and he had such hard time with the passenger side. The driver side only took like 5~10 min while the passenger side took forever (like about an hour) because we d/ced the manifold from the engine bay

    I was also wondering if you guys know the most stable places to jack up the stinger. Last time I tried to jack it didn't seem stable enough and I don't have a car lift either. I'm also trying to install my exhaust and downpipe too. But I don't wanna mess up the cars frame by jacking it wrong.

    Thanks for the video, best video I've seen on this, also it's the exact same for the genesis G70. I may have missed it on the video, where are you putting the dielectric silicone? Also got a torque spec on the bolt for the packs?

      Hey Josh! We place a little dab into the end of the coil pack where the spark plug would enter the boot. As for torque specs on the coil pack 8-10lbs is more than plenty. These are only retaining bolts. They don’t get subjected to any external forces other than heat expansion.

    Great content, thanks for posting. I did the spark plugs by taking off the intake and it totally sucked. This looks way easier but only if you have those tools. You should setup some Amazon affiliate links to these tools and get a little bit of the money when we buy them. I'm struggling to find some of these tools because I don't know what the exact names of them are. Can anyone help me out?

      Hey there. You made a great suggestion ! I’ll definitely look into linking these tools in the future. The adapters your looking for are call universal joint adapter / flex adapters in 3/8th drive. As well as a 6” 3/8ths drive flexible / wobbly end extension.

      100% agree with you , things like this are negated by very minimal application, as well as compensating of a few lbs with adjustment the torque wrench. This is why we recommend very little application

    I did an Amazon search for that Double ball jointed socket, and they look NOTHING like the one you're holding. What they call a "double" only has the socket and ONE attachment. It looks like you have TWO attachments to the socket. This is a great tutorial but... Why not include a breakdown of the tools used? Especially the specialty ones? It certainly would have removed some of the guess work and this entire comment other than Great tutorial!

    Dielectric grease is actually NON-conductive, and does not "transmit electricity".

      Yes even as a professional I can admit when I am incorrect and explained wrong! Dielectric grease’s correct purpose / use is corrosion prevention! I think when the first batches of shirts come in we gotta send one out to you for being so sharp! Cheers!

      Hi Nick, Sxth has since discontinued this dual catch can for the Stinger. Another very nice alternative is the ADDW1 V3.3 dual Catch Cans. They have a secondary vacuum reference so that even under throttle / positive pressure conditions, PCV residues still get drawn into the can , rather than only during idle / negative pressure / vacuum conditions in the manifold.

    So I just got all new spark plugs changed and my stinger is a 2019 gts with 18k miles and im still having misfiring whenever im putting my foot down for small quick acceleration. It doesn't start up weird or have a strange idle. Everything runs perfect until I start to give it some more power. Could this be my coil packs?

      Any engine light on? It should at least point to which cylinders failed. But odds are (only in this case since you say plugs were just changed ) if it’s only failing under boost it’s likely incorrect gap (too large). If plugs are within spec next in line is the coil. Either way you shouldn’t have an issue on such a new vehicle. They need to remedy that immediately.

    I recently changed my plugs for HKS ones and gapped them at .025 of an inch. I have inconsistent misfires at idle that seem to go away when I drive. Any idea what the issue could be? Not even 7k miles on the clock so I hope I didn't break anything.

      Did any of your coils come apart during removal? Ensure all parts of the coil are firmly together (it’s all press together rubber pieces) Also make sure there is the spring looking piece inside each coil , when you remove the coil just turn it upside down and look into the hole where the spark plug fits. This spring type thing (as you can tell I don’t know the part name lol) is what seats onto the top of the spark plug and transfers the coil charge to the spark plug. If all coils are copacetic Then I’d say faulty spark plug or incorrect install. either plugs can be not threaded in all the way and releasing cylinder pressure. Lastly check spark plugs for cracked plug porcelain. It can cause misfire issues as well.

    I’m doing my plugs sometime this week. This video will be playing the entire time. What plugs were you using? And I thought the factory gap was 0.036. On a stock vehicle or a vehicle with just air intakes and exhaust do you recommend keeping the factory gap or closing it?

      We 100% recommend closing the gap if tuned at all. Spark blow out is very prevalent on these cars at stock gap when tuned. If running stock boost levels with bolt ons you should be ok at stock gap. It’s only when boost has increased that this becomes an issue.

      It is safe to adjust before hand. The reason the gaps are so large from factory
      Is because they need to reach that threshold for the largest gap while still being reliable under the use conditions.
      Achieving this balance gives you the biggest spark possible while not suffering from spark blow out / misfiring.
      I’ve seen as low as .018” but I have never used a gap that small. So far for 8/10 applications running jb4 map 1-3+ . .022-.024” has been a great sweet spot. Have had a few with primaries use this gap as well with good results. Nothing on kill mode but definitely reliable power.

      Hey Chris. Sorry about that. We noticed this and in replacement of this tool you can definitely use two swivels + a wobble -tip extension. This gives the closest ability to access the plug without having the special discontinued tool we used here.

      If you use a lot of anti seize you can reduce torque limit on the wrench by 10 or so ft-pounds. For the small amount we use we are not concerned with over torquing at this level. If due care is used there is no concern :) glad you had success with your installation !

      We haven’t tackled it this way, but I’m sure there are multiple avenues. Although you can remove the throttle body, from memory it’s the intake manifold plenum that overpasses #5. You may not achieve enough room to fit standard tooling without the use of flex / u-joint adapters

      They will both perform well with minimal upgrades. Even though the Stinger is a very capable all around vehicle, the m340i is no slouch. It’s a killer with bolt ons as well. I would leave the decision to personal taste.

      I think is also fair to add, I think KIA has come much farther in the last decade Of development of their brand and features. Bmw has always had the luxury down, as well as performance in the m-models but hasn’t really done anything too new for the brand itself I feel. Where KIA has completely reinvented their identity over the last decade coming from humble beginnings as an economy car manufacturer to now creating luxury sedans that are comparable to manufacturers that have been in that sector of the industry for years.

      It just seems to me that the BMW B58 engine and transmission will be more reliable than the Kia Stinger engine and transmission.....Well, 340 on minimal dorobotki will probably be much faster than Kia Stinger....

      .022 is already tighter than most run the plugs. If you begin experiencing misfires under boost, consider closing the gap incrementally

      You can purchase it directly from Snap-On. Part # S9710KC. if this option is a bit expensive for your budget, you can use a straight 5/8 spark plug socket, a universal-joint adapter, and a wobble extension to provide close to the same accessibility.

      We’ve had customers last 50k KM with no issues on the HKS plugs. We don’t recommend the denso plugs….they barely last a summer on some of our clients cars. They always switch to HKS.
