Oil Tanker Train | Petrol Diesel & Gas | Indian Railways

Enjoy watching a compilation of the Oil and Gas Tanker Wagon Trains used across the Indian Railways network to transport Oil and Gas from Harbors to refinery's and Oil Corporations. India ranks third in oil consumption with 195.5 million tons in 2015 after USA and China.These trains run on Priority as compared to other Freight Trains as the demand for Supply of Oil and Gas is never ending specially for the Automobiles to keep running.
There are 3 Types of Tanker Wagons in use :
BTPN (Green Tankers) : Bogie Tank Wagon. This wagon was designed in 1986 for transportation of petroleum products i.e. Kerosene, petrol, diesel and naphtha. Axle Load 20.321. CASNUB 22 NLB bogie. Speed 80/80 Kmph.
BTFLN (Green Tankers) : Improved version of BTPN, designed to increase the pay load. This tank is without complete under frame; hence the tare weight is reduced from 27t to 23.53t. Pay load is increased from 54.28t to 57.75t increasing the pay/tare ratio from 2.0 to 2.45. the volume is also increased from 70.4 m3 to76 m3. since the under frame is not available the brake system is also modified to Bogie mounted brake system, with rigging components only on bogies.
BTPGLN (White Tankers): This wagon is designed for transportation of LPG. Provided with Air brake and CASNUB 22NLB bogie, Axle Load is 20.32t. Speed 75/80 Kmph.

Because those oil or gas goods tanker cars are protected with caboose or empty goods car in order to protect the heat and radiation to the locomotive rail engines and also avoid explosion too from overheating with the help of caboose or empty goods car especially at front side when locomotive engines are connected on it
