My wife and I no longer celebrate our anniversary. We only celebrate the timeline of the incident
👏👏 Bravo for this comment! Very well done sir.
😂😂😂
😂😂😂 Your comment will generate an interesting dialogue.

GOLD !!
I really appreciate that you don't use music and speak normally.
Me three 😊
Also the absence of interrogation, trial, etc. footage makes Dr. Grande's videos relaxing despite the often disturbing subject matter. I'm hitting the hay to a mini-marathon right now. 😴
Yeah i always listen on my way to work in the morning. Alot of other channels are so corny and annoying with the music and youtuber voice
p
Exactly. I can't stand true crime "influencers" that treat the subject matter like they're talking about celebrity gossip. And ESPECIALLY when they're doing make up while doing it. It's so goddamn disrespectful.
100 years ago when I was young, we had a rule, we never left an intoxicated female on their own⁉️😥
She was underage too. She she was just begging for trouble any way you look at it.
@@totallyfrozen I would call that being immature...not "begging" for trouble.
My friends and I just throw parties in our backyard when we were 18, 19...much safer than going out...everyone can drink and you can just pass out on the porch if you're intoxicated.
100 years old? Nice run
I would she was an adult who couldn't or wouldn't follow rules she was asking for trouble @sharonhoyt2133
Him referring to his cargo van as a "creepy white van," is a grim reminder that sometimes, the writing's on the van, quite literally.
Just What It Says On the Tin!
This isn't a CSI Miami intro
I call those vehicles "Molester Vans"
Dang...Why do so many of these f*#$-ed up people have to drive white vans? I've been driving my 1999 WHITE Dodge Ram 1500 van since 2009 when I bought it for $750....245K miles on it now, but I like it better than a car or pick-up since I can get a lot of stuff inside and with the slightly tinted windows, you can't see in there, and it's beat-up enough it probably doesn't look like it would even contain anything valuable.
I bought the van from my last employer, (it was used by a salesman), but I seem to recall that nearly all commercial vans and pickups get the white paint.
I've never had the slightest desire for using it to commit any crimes....
Free candy , maybe written on the van...
My daughter is 18. Ive told her many time's that if she is EVER in a situation where she can't drive, or her friends are under the influence of something...that i dont care WHAT time it is...she is to call me to get her. And i promise her there will be no questions asked. And that goes for her getting booted out of a club someday too. Luckily she doesnt drink. But ya never know situation. I just need her to know no matter what she HAS SOMEONE she can call to get her.
Can’t call you if she leaves he phone in the bar 🙃
You're a good mom❤

Harmless and charming? More like Harming and Charmless.
Dr. Grande would be devastated to know he missed out on this one.
Never go out to a bar with a plan to get intoxicated without trusted, sober friends that will keep you safe.
That is excellent advice. My parents used to arm us with money "just in case your date is a cad you can politely pay the restaurant bill and get a cab home."
Good advice for women. I travel a lot for work and I don't feel the need to follow this myself
@@jugo1944 As long as you're not driving🥂
Honestly the best advice is to not get intoxicated at all and alway stay in groups. And I don't mean that in a victim blaming sense. It's just good advice.
@@skycloud4802 Of course, but young people party. At least if they have friends looking out for them and preventing drunk driving, the worst that will happen is foolishness and a hangover!
I recall seeing an episode about Kenia's murder several years ago on a true crime tv show. Towards the end of the program, there was a clip of her mother sobbing at her grave while her stepfather stood with his hand on her shoulder. It always stuck with me.
Yes!! I saw that story. Her mother was heartbroken. Her wonderful stepfather was so determined to find out what happened to her. Such a sad story.
That was a Dateline episode. Sadly, the parents ended up splitting after Kenia's murder because of all stress and grief.
@@Robin-xt7yo Yes. I was sorry to hear that they divorced. But, what an honorable man he was in seeking justice for Kenia.
@@Robin-xt7yo I also saw this on “see no evil”. It was so sad to see her stumbling around the town drunk for so long. Young girls don’t understand how vulnerable they are. I feel so bad for her..I wish her friends stayed with her.
We need to talk to our daughters about blackout drinking or drinking period. We really need to emphasize how dangerous it is to do so and go out alone.
Yes! 💯
Ain't that the truth. It's scary. I'd be prison if someone hurt or killed my daughter. Wouldn't even care.
Crazy how Travis could of got away with this and gone on to commit more crimes if he just didnt text her phone.
I was thinking the same thing! They had zero leads
of?
@@alukuhito cringe
*COULD HAVE
@@JustMe-fo4evPretty cringey not understanding the difference between "of" and "have". It's like they never think about what they say and just write how something sounds, like they're 5 years old.
Sharing my “creepy white van” story: I was a nurse at an elementary school. One afternoon, as the students are being dismissed, a strange man walks into the front door & asks for change. Knowing the school was near a gas station, etc. , our assistant principal wondered why he has chosen to walk into our school. She called 911 while our receptionist kept talking to the man. Police found his creepy white van full of pillows & blankets & cupcakes! He was a registered sex offender. 😳
That is scary! Glad the school staff was on alert.
🤮🤮🤮
Jesus christ.... Stereotypes always have a grain of truth to them...
Thank You Dr. Grande. When my daughter was of college age and would go out to neighborhood bars, thank god she always knew to go with friends who kept an eye out for each other. This is a tragic story and I feel sorry for her loved ones.
The fact that the bouncer didn't make sure that she was properly kicked out makes me very concerned about how this can easily happen to a person
Right, you would think they would make sure they have their phone, purse to purchase a ride home, even call an Uber for them! First Avenue does that, it is cold in MN sometimes 20 below zero. They eject them without a coat even, no money or a phone. They should be held accountable for doing this.
@@annabrahamson4320 Maybe in some circumstances it is possible, but if you are getting kicked out of a bar it is probably because you are being belligerent and you are not going to cooperate with security. It's likely you are going to insist on going to another bar. How far should the bar and its staff be culpable for a patron's safety? Until they are home in bed with a glass of water, some ibuprofen, and bucket by their side?
I'm legitimately worried about the modern tendency to shift blame around and suggest people who are only tangentially involved in a matter should bare more responsibility than they deserve.
I have the feeling that by no way Kenia was Travis Forbes first victim. Sad that none of Kenia's friends would have insisted on taking her home or at least putting her in a taxi. A totally intoxicated single young girl roaming the streets late at night, a recipe for disaster.
A crime of opportunity for him. And it's also a good practice to not over drink to have fun. Sorry for her and her family. Good video.
Uploading for the night owls, thank you, Dr.!
Two Dr. Grande videos in one day? Thank you very much! Remember your self-care, too.

I still love those cactus plants.Nice to see those still on display for months or years.😊

Very true.

@@terrorists-are-among-us 😂 🤣🤣🤣
The bar she was at should have been sued for not letting her get her belongings when they kicked her out.
This young lady engaged in extremely dangerous behavior. While it’s not the bar’s fault that she was killed, they could have easily called her an Uber and she would not have become a headline.
@@Lisargarza Maybe, but have you heard about some Uber drivers?
@@Lisargarzathis case happened in 2011. Around that time, I’m not sure if Uber was even a thing. There were definitely taxis tho. I used to tend bar in my younger years. The owner had a contract with a taxi company. We would call cabs for anyone who was intoxicated, so people wouldn’t drink and drive. It didn’t cut down on all the shmucks who wanted to drive themselves home.., but it def helped!
Yeah Sherlock. That's the issue here.
It would not change anything, she had the opportunity of staying with the first man, or at least use his phone to call a taxi or call her friends. What would she do with her belongings that she couldn't do without them? Drive home? LoL...
I like that the alliteration was woven in and not too much of it washed over us. Nice touch.
Sad case. I remember this one very well and how much it had angered me.
When Dr Grande said Travis was on his was to becoming a serial killer-I had been thinking perhaps he had already committed another murder (at least one) and since he was in jail for so long that he had nothing to lose, he might eventually confess to an unsolved/cold case, or even two cold cases.
In prior decades it used to be: Whodunnit and there was a mystery to solve. Nowadays it’s Weknowwhodunnit, but we’re going to let them go, so they can do it again. 🤦♂️
for ppl like Travis it is all about CONTROL that is why they "look good" to some it works for the time to keep them under control!
Dr. Grande, will you please do a video on Antonio Scopelliti, who murdered two teenagers in Orillia, Ontario, Canada in 1978 or 1979?
7:48-7:58...A reference to Chappaquiddick? 🤔
I think so.
No, really?
Yeah,, Teddy Kennedy... Another Freudian slip?
And William Kennedy Smith. Also, JFK Jr.'s plane went down with a gal.

Thank you for the fascinating break down of TF's personality characteristics. I noted his reckless impulsivity with texting, showcased by his mighty muffin meltdown, and likewise the incriminating text sent to his victim, which was his ultimate downfall. RIP Kenia.
Dr. Grande’s Patreon is only $5/mo. and there are a ton of videos. Barely anyone seems to be on there. If you’re a fan like I am, give the cup of coffee a month to the good doctor. Perhaps the most prolific, and absolutely the best UA-camr ever.

This case hits really close to home. I moved to Denver at this time and remember the missing person posters. Not knowing the details of this case I later befriended Kerry, who carries the weight of this everyday. I've seen people villianize Kerry. As someone who knows her well, she is often mischaracterized as a monster. She is not. She is truly one of the sweetest people I have met that was manipulated by the worst type of human. I literally pray for her everyday because this destroyed her.
Your use of alliteration is hilarious 😂
Your awesome alliterative acumen always amazes and amuses & all are awestruck by your astounding analysis! 😂❤🌵
Wow, Dr. Grande, sir I was absolutely not expecting a Chappaquiddick Ed Kennedy back-fist. 😊
Dang, man! 🎉🎉🎉
TED,, not Ed...
This case has always been very unsettling, especially when I found about the other young woman he almost killed, who fought hard to survive his brutal attack on her life.
The Kennedy comment was brilliant! Love your humor!!!
This one has always hit home for me 😢 He was so bold to move the way he did and tricked so many with his “honesty”. RIP beautiful angel!
Thank you, Dr. Grande. (I save these videos for when I've been unable to resist watching your daily video.) I like when you do the personality traits breakdown. I want to understand why people do what they do. I know the speculation comes after their actions, so using traits as predictors is questioned by some. But, somehow, it's reassuring to think I see evidence of a trait and possibly I can expect the person to respond similarly in the future.
My first thought is, were there others before Kenia?
"White creepy van." 😳 This "man" matches his "van."
White creepy van, white creepy man....
What's wrong with being white?... do you prefer the color of poo?
I was just driving and a truck chased me (think: Maximum Overdrive) I guess the driver thought he was being real funny. Opened UA-cam and saw the words "creepy van" and immediately knew it was fate lol
My husband was a dispatcher at the California Highway Patrol that also received 911 calls. A 20 year old woman called-she was being pursued by a truck. It turned out okay, but what a terrifying thing to,happen
It's illegal for the bar to keep her personal belongings even if she got kicked out for disrupting the place.
Why do you think they knew where her stuff was? I bet she didn't know.
@@LukeSumIpsePatremTeThe bar let in a minor, allowed her to get drunk and then kicked her out without her belongings. Kicking out anyone incredibly drunk, alone, from a bar, should be illegal. The bar should have called the police.

This story of Travis seems so familiar-almost like Dr Grande had covered this before in a previous video.
If you’re female, don’t get drunk outside your own home. Never leave your food or drink unattended. Have friends who won’t let you down, and never assume that a male ( or anyone for that matter ) is being “chivalrous” just because he offers to take you home.
Love when the Doc does two videos in one day!!! Ty Dr. Grande
Did they investigate for victims prior to Kenia?
Hi Dr Grande and Everyone from Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. 8yLadies, take care of your friends if they are drinking or doing drugs!!
This story is honestly so frustrating!
That's why you have to be 21 to drink and even then you arent safe.
Yes, caught this upload early! Love the night time upload!
A twisted story indeed; thanks, as always, Dr. Grande (looking forward to getting caught up on your other videos from this past weekend, too).
Thank you for the late night video Dr. Grande 🙏
Thankyou Dr Grande for top notch content! ❤
A couple drove by the cottonwood tree(s) on their way to dinner at a local restaurant. It was after dark and as they passed the parked van with open doors, there was a large bundle, a shovel leaning against the van, and a man nearby. The woman said, "that looks suspicious, should we call the police?" And the husband said "don't be nosey"......they went on to dinner but it stayed on her mind and when it was splashed on the news, she knew what they had seen that night some days before.
Always on point
Wow, thanks for this midnight special, Dr. Grande.

12:36 "They say he transformed into a different person during sexual role playing." WTH? Uhhh.....isn't that the point of role playing? To transform into someone else?
Hello 👋 good Dr. Grande 😊
I know who this guy is, I've seen a long deep dive story on him before. I think it's quite telling how his girlfriend at the time, Kerry Humphrey, physically resembled the victim, Kenia Monge. It is good he in prison for life because he would have continued stalking women to victimize.
Good Evening, Dr Grande. 👍
Shhh... don't warn evil-doers not to text the victim's phone... yeah, like that makes a difference, lol.
I understood that Kennedy reference 🦸🇺🇸
I wondered when this might happen, there is a noghtclub in Minneapolis, MN that kicks people out for drunken alone, woman or men with nothing. Some dont even have jackets in sub zero weather, no phone to call a cab. I always wondered that some dont fall victim or freeze to death. This club also lets more people in (for a price) than they are allowed so the bouncers eject people who appear drunk even if they arent creating a scene.
Doctor G can you do a piece on Imette St.Guillen please? This case always bothered me for some reason.
Remember this story...sad
Hello Dr Grande.
7:15 I hope that the auto theft victim who refused to press charges against Travis Forbes is forever haunted by regret for the death of Lydia Tillman since the failure to press charges allowed the offender Travis Forbes to be released from police custody. People need to be brave enough to testify against wrongdoers lest they be free to harm others.
No more blackout drinking for me

It's not her fault.... she was basically a kid.... but damn.... she went a little too hard that night and was reckless.... fake ids.... getting hammered.... she's going with a bunch of random dudes... in and out of apartments and vehicles with folks she doesn't know... no friends to to have her back..... really sad stuff....
It was kind of weird how Dr. Grande jumped from Travis telling his fake story, to the police suspecting him of murder, there’s no mention of her being reported missing, any kind of search, let alone the discovery of her body.
Well, he certainly had a "type". The lying girlfriend bears a striking resemblance to the dead woman.
