@@omokoyejoakinfenwa4453like what ? Also being original doesnt mean people are just going to see it as if theats some crazy thing. And no one watches remakes either you just dont understand why they make them. Its not for money.
The marketing for Lilo and Stitch (the original film) was hilarious and iconic. He literally steals the scene from every movie within the Disney Renaissance.
It was mostly due to his own choosing. He typically doesn't like doing sequels apparently, let alone trilogies, except for like a couple movies, so he must really enjoy this movie to have wanted to stick around for 3.
I hate the argument of "why don't they make new movies" when they just released two new movies with Transformers ONE and The Wild Robot movies back to back and almost NOBODY went to see them in the movies then the movies blow up and become Hits when they Go on streaming. Is there a problem with Original movies being made ? YES, BUT all there doing is reacting to the box office numbers, And what people say they like and don't like.
My country is unfortunately in a housing crisis. If it wasn’t myself and plenty of others would’ve gone. Unfortunately a lot are living from paycheque to paycheque.
This is one of the reasons why I like A24 so much because they at least help fund and market some of the more weird and creative movie projects that people want to make. Not all of them are hits, but it shows that not everything has to be dictated by the box office and crazy blockbusters.
It's easy for you to have no problem with Astrid's look in the remake when you haven't spent ten years watching three films, several shows and several short films like the actual fanbase.
I mean, if you want them to stop making remakes... then stop supporting them. They only do these because they are successful and people keep checking them out. Whenever there is a new thing, nobody watches, what do you expect them to do in response to that
Regarding How to Train your dragon, at least it is the same Director/Writer for the original film so I trust they will still be able to recapture the magic of the franchise.
17:52 I think Astrid looks good. But, to be fair, I think they could have died her hair a more golden blond just to match the original aesthetic more. Doesn't seem like it would be much effect just for a bit of colour.
I think go literal or not at all, other characters should have change as well since she had drastic change. My biggest issue is Toothless looking no different from animations and I really hoped for a live action version (siighhhh)
I will say, what makes me feel more confident in the live action How to Train Your Dragon vs the live action Lio and Stitch is we've seen how Disney's handled their live action movies so it's harder to give them the benefit of the doubt. With HTTYD, you got the original creator, Gerard Butler reprising his role, they seem to really care about the franchise, and most of all, they chose to keep Toothless animated and expressive vs just making the dragon look hyper realistic. I do agree we probably didn't need it, but if it's good then that'll be another W for this franchise.
All 3 movies and the second one was the reason they made a tv series. Stitch with a glitch is like 1.5 I think after the first movie before the second movie with the hamster
@15:23 I have a few answers: the first reason would mainly be to reintroduce the property to a new audience in a way that reignites the fandom and profits ultimately. A more optimistic view is that there is a large enough audience of people who struggle to connect as intensely with animation and this story is strong enough that all they feel the need to change is the medium. It could also just be argued that being art simply changing the medium is enough to warrant its creation. Either way I’m excited! 😊 Sidenote: I agree with others who are super happy that they kept the dragon’s character designs faithful to the original. I love that it’s not entirely visually transformative, but instead just looks brought to life.
Poor Pat😂😂😂 there weren’t that many scary characters in this series and I heard that they brought back the series as a comic book 2024. The same for Hercules
I agree with Pat Stitch in his alien form with extra arms and antennas was not it. I was cool when he tucked them in but i'm honestly scared to see that in live action
Can someone tell me what the problem would be with just dying her hair blonde for the movie. Hair colour is a pretty distinguishing feature. Doesn't seem like it'd be that hard.
If you want to know more about Shadow as a character, react to the animated prologue for the new Sonic game. It’s called Sonic X Shadow Dark Beginnings. They are 3 short episodes, it's on UA-cam, and it’s the most unique, heartbreaking, beautiful sonic media that’s ever been released 🦔🖤❤️
Claiming Hollywood is running out of ideas because of live-action remakes shows a lack of understanding of the industry. Live-action adaptations are not about originality but about reimagining stories for new audiences. A live-action How to Train Your Dragon isn’t meant to replace the animation but to offer a fresh perspective and showcase its magic through advanced visual effects and real-world environments. Animation and live-action cater to different viewer experiences, and adaptations can deepen the emotional connection with fans while attracting those who might overlook animation. Just because a story is retold doesn’t mean Hollywood lacks creativity-it's leveraging nostalgia while delivering something visually new. Original movies and ideas like Everything Everywhere All at Once and Oppenheimer still exist; remakes don’t negate that. It’s about variety, not absence of innovation. 🎥✨
I seriously don't get the hate live action remakes get. To me it's just another interpretation of the story, like how a lot of Disney movies are retellings. Also there are people like me who actually like to imagine what it would be like to see these animated characters come to life. It doesn't diminish the old version so why can't they co-exist.
Mickey returns to spread his negativity again. Why bother sitting in on a reaction about live-actions just to complain about live-actions? Disney and Dreamworks release new animated films every two years. The idea that they don't produce anything original is just untrue.
Maybe he was hoping to be so blown away by the trailers that he would change his mind? Anyway, obviously the other four folks on the couch are still excited about the LA adaptations regardless so really no harm actually done.
so far HTTMD & Sonic 3 are looking good but live-action Lilo and Stitch I'm feeling nervous about it because of the previous live-action Dinsey movies before this
Normies I saw online that someone made a theory that the colorful clothes Maddie wears hint at what characters will show up, in the first movie she wore yellow and blue for tails in Sonic 2 she wore red and black for shadow and I think in this new movie she wears pink for Amy.
If How to Train Your Dragon does well enough for them to adapt the second movie to live action, I hope they get Cate Blanchette and Kit Harrington to reprise their roles as well, like they did with Gerard Butler.
I truly find the live action remakes unnecessary and truth be told not really good. The original animated films are perfect, with perfect voices and they need to be re-watched, cherished and shared with others. Not bs remakes, create original stories, adapt stories, books that haven't been adapted yet, there are so many great stories that are waiting to be turned into films or TV shows.
11:50 and? if it's good what is the problem? you're cashing in on reactions, where's the originality in that? just wait for the movie, don't have that predisposition just because it's a live action adaptation from animation
Why complain about something being made? You really don’t have to see it. You don’t have to see any of it. And it’s not a remake. It’s an adaptation. Would you call Watchman and 300 remakes? Are any of the anime from manga remakes?
Is the one at the far left is the person who said is gonna leave??? Then why is he still here being negative and does not want an adaptation?? Does he even know the difference between remake and adaptation??? 😂😂😂, if he is not happy or don't like it, then why bother watch it??😂🤦💩🤡

Transformers is a old franchise not new
Because Disney doesn't have a good track record with live action remakes.
This is one of the reasons why I like A24 so much because they at least help fund and market some of the more weird and creative movie projects that people want to make. Not all of them are hits, but it shows that not everything has to be dictated by the box office and crazy blockbusters.
