Please do The Foreigner. It’s a great Jackie Chan fighting movie too
You should react to the deleted scene. Mr. Han Vs... whatever the fuck the other master is called. There was supposed to be a fight scene at the end of the tournament because the master wants to punish the kids for losing. And Jackie doesn't let him hurt the kids. That's why they bow to him at the end. But they didn't want Jackie to steal the spolight from Jaden so they cut it out of the movie. It's on youtube.
You should watch and react to the deleted scene. Mr. Han vs Master Lee.very good fight.
Plz react to Jawan movie
Will you guys react to more or any Jackie Chan movie?
Many of his movies has great choreography, comedy, even a drama that can makes you bawling, one of my fav. and recommendations is "Rob-B-Hood"
i’m so glad this movie is getting more love. i loved it as a kid so much
So you only like it due to nostalgia lol
@@gregdrake5069 no, its because its good lol
@@gregdrake5069i actually think its better than the original 😅😭
@@gregdrake5069Also because it had Better fighting choreo & better acting than the og
@@kayleedesroches6318 Oh yeah, seeing Mr. Han take on 12 year old little kids was definitely cooler than Miyagi take on 17 year olds bigger than him. LOL use your head
As of 2025, the actor who played Cheng nowadays serves as a fight choreographer of other films and is part of Jackie Chan’s official stunt team.
He’s also a really nice person. I think he was on TikTok personally and lot of people fell in love with him 😂
For someone born in 2005, this is the one i grew up with. Only ventured into the older ones recently. Such a memorable movie for me.
Tbh, this is like the perfect movie to get you into it. It basically takes the first 3 and makes them one concise movie.
2000, and I swear until late teens this was the only karte kid. when i found out this wasn't the og i was like really. but this is my karate kid forever
Same except I was born in 04
Sad
Yes same
I love that the antagonist kids aren’t actually bad kids, they were just taught to be bad, and they saluted dre after he won too
Cheng throughout the entire movie up until his defeat though was crazy and had major anger issues. Nostalgia Critic did an Old vs. New video on Karate Kid, and he pointed out that the remake switches the villain roles a bit. In the original, the teacher is a crazy nutball, while the student is just a run-of-the-middle jerk. In the remake though, the teacher is the run-of-the-middle jerk, while the student seems totally psycho. Just look into his insane eyes.
No such thing as bad kids, only bad parents. No such thing as bad pets, only bad owners. No such thing as bad students, only bad teachers.
Miyagi: "No such thing as bad student, only bad teacher. Teacher say, student do."
@@jp3813Exactly. I get that this version was more overt with them doing this massive group bow, but it was pretty clear in the original that pretty much everyone, including Johnny, were just taught bad. To the point where one apologizes to Daniel after Kreese tells him to take Daniel out, and Johnny congratulating Daniel openly when he won.
If anything, the remake was somehow more cheesy than the original with how overblown and in your face the group bow was.
@@Mrryn I didn't really mind it b/c the teacher's reaction provides a sense of comeuppance for him.
Everytime, without fail. When Dre lands that hit on Cheng at the park, everyone goes, "There we go!" followed by the immediate, "Oh....nevermind, I'm leaving" as soon as Cheng does that kip up 😂
Yea😂. Love this movie
The fight choreography in this movie is perfect. The og movies tbh had laughable choreography.
I showed it to my students and they did the exact same thing. It was hilarious 😂
Cheng is lit the goat
@@barbaragenshin9848 I wouldn't say it's perfect given all the shaky cam, and you can tell that the final kick was miles away from the opponent's face. The choreography in the OG movies were closer to how real life tournament fights actually looked. Though Pat Morita's fights were obviously the worst.
The kid who plays Cheng (the bully) still actually works as a stunt double in Hollywood - he worked in Shang-Chi which is probably where you saw him
He was nice
Was also in one of jade ‘s music videos
Maybe they should have just cast him as Shangchi. Missed opportunity to make the movie like The Raid. More practical martial arts and less CGI. Even the bus scene had a lot of CGI and the building bamboo scafolding scene also had a lot of CGI like the Volume
he actually now with jackie chan part jackie chan stunt team.
@@markcruz359 I agree Simu Liu isn't the best actor for ShangChi. But Zhenwei Wang wouldn't be the right choice either. His english isn't great, and he's not a lead-actor.
I remember Jackie told us in an interview when he was first offered to be in this movie he got excited and ask "okay, who's the teacher?"
He forgot he's old😂
😆💕
I will never understand the hate this movie gets. The acting is great, the relationship and chemistry between Jaden Smith and Jackie Chan is great and the journey Dre goes through in this movie is great. Like this is a great film 💯
It's because they call it Karate Kid. That's literally the no.1 biggest complaints from before the movie was released. And another thing is that people just hate remakes, especially this one with the Kung Fu not Karate thing. They would have less problem and hate if they renamed it Kung Fu Kid, and instead calling it a remake call it a spin off which make more sense if they're set in the same universe.
@@BluePeach0214I'm not Chinese, not like them too. but honestly, Karate originally stems from Kung Fu. It's just that people tend to favor Japan more, partly due to the excessive hype from their film industry and anime.
I mostly like the original(s) more because of nostalgia. This one is a totally fine movie, it just doesn't have the nostalgia value for me.
There's a sense that it's unneeded since the original story still works. And it does seem strange that the new movie is a crossover given that Dre's story is almost exactly the same as Daniel's.
@@longnguyenthanh2911 IIRC, the highest grossing foreign film in America is Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon. The highest from Japan is Godzilla Minus One in 3rd place. Anime is definitely a phenomenon, but when it comes to live action, Hong Kong & Chinese films have been more popular. Thanks largely to the likes of Jackie Chan, Jet Li, Bruce Lee, Donnie Yen, Chow Yun-fat, Michelle Yeoh, etc...
I love how Mr Han kicks their asses without throwing a punch. 👍🏼👍🏼
I don't care what those haters say. The Karate Kid 2010 is one of the best remakes in cinema. Plus, Jayden in this movie put on a believable performance about a young kid struggling with his new life in a new continent. As a former military brat myself I know what is like to experience living in a foreign country that you're not familiar with. Great movie!
One of the remakes? Yes, yes it is
@@joevictor53 lmao I had to read that like 3 times.
it's not a remake. it's an installation in a franchise
This movie never had that many haters...especially when it came out. I remember seeing this in the theater and everyone loved it. Only thing they criticized about this movie was the name of it
@@chronocross85 The haters I encountered where from the internet and social media years ago. Especially from fans of the original Karate Kid movie.
This is a genuinely good movie. People love to hate on it because it features Jaden Smith, it's not as iconic as the original, and despite the title, they're actually doing Kung Fu (that's a valid criticism)
But none of that takes away from the action, fun, and heart from this movie.
Jaden Smith gives a genuinely bad performance, thats absolutely valid
@@gregdrake5069what’s bad about it? He’s a kid acting like a kid 😂 you’re a troll bud…
@@gregdrake5069what a sad person u are hating on every comment
I must be the only one who thinks the jaden smith one is better than the original 😅
@ what? No, he doesn't, Jaden was definitely one of the better child actors. I get you have some sort of bias, but don't be a hater.
What I love about this movie more is towards the scene when Mr Han was mourning his families death Dre became empathetic over it so much that he started taking the martials arts training more seriously for Mr Han because I feel like he can relate towards losing a family member & it is such beautiful way of how they showed it on here
Don’t know if you guys have seen it, but there’s a deleted scene where mr han and master li fight after the tournament, very awesome they shouldn’t have removed it
Yeah actually it was a good fight and even I didn't know about it, after 12 years of the movie I saw that deleted scene and immediately it popped up it my mind that why the hell did they remove this
@shazimmax6062 Because this is a remake of the first Karate Kid movie. The confrontation between Miyagi and Kreese is a very small moment in the beginning of the second film, iirc. So they filmed the fight in this movie separately, probably as a tribute or a later addition.
@@Sreerags5959 Fittingly, the Miyagi/Kreese fight was filmed as the ending to the first film, and simply not used until they made the second. So they could have been intending something similar here, either to differ the remake from the first by including it, or having it on hand to use in a sequel to the reboot in the same way.
@@The2ndQuest Yeah. That also makes sense.
@@Sreerags5959 maybe, I hope they show some glimpses in upcoming movie
This was a pretty solid remake. It does a good job of paying homage to the original while standing on its own.
Since it's canon now, do we still call it a remake?
@@DaveH82 It's time to re-title it as The Kung Fu Kid.
This is such a good movie. The musical score, the acting, the fight choreography, the dialogue, the message - it’s so full of heart and nostalgia. I’m the same age as Jaden, and I saw it in theaters with a friend when it came out. Always enjoyed it. So grateful it was before the time when internet hate trains were such a huge thing and could have dampened my impression of the movie. Any hate it got or gets now is because people are too hung up on the original and/or want to hate on Jaden because of who his father is. He’s not the bad actor they want him to be. He was diligent and put in work for this role, and it showed.
This is a great movie for our generation, and I’m glad you guys enjoyed it. ❤️
Usually disagree with Pat but he is valid for this. Ppl dont give this movie credit it deserves!!
The fight scenes in this one were always so much more impactful
If only they didn't shake the camera so much.
I’m so glad this movie is getting some love!! I’ve noticed an uprise of reactions to it since the trailer of Karate Kid: Legends
The fights are way more brutal in this Karate Kid. Even though Dre does Kung Fu. It still follows the same principles and philosophies that the Og Karate Kid did. It’s different but same.
It's lot more believable compared to the 80s version. Like karate being popular in US doesn't make sense.
@@THECAR99 Karate actually got popular in the US due to the original movie. I wouldn't call the fights here believable since they have very complex choreography. Real life tournaments are messier.
I guess is going to be because Han learned this, from Miyagi.
I think the reason I like this version so much is because it’s so much more visceral in its approach. In a way that you kinda wish big budget Hollywood films would go back too. Nowadays it feels like every reboot tries to recapture the vibe of the original and it just leads to something that feels too tame and directionless. But this movie does its own thing and I think it succeeds for the most part. Also Jaden Smith was a genuinely great actor who unfortunately never got to develop his career any further.
Not entirely trued he has done multiple projects, is a successful musician, started a Water company, and has a successful clothing company...he has developed pretty well all around. I do wish he would have gotten more action roles and did more in the movie space though...still young.
I used to watch Oprah religiously after school and remember she had an episode with Will and Jaden promoting the movie. Jaden trained extensively for this and did lots or maybe even all the stunts. I remember Will’s oldest son was playing HS football and Will was going back and forth China to LA like weekly for his games, crazy.
Real Father and dedication stuff...no matter the hate he gets Will has done an amazing job. Especially reading his book and getting more knowledge on his abusive Father and his shame behind that...incredible what he was able to build for himself and his family.
This movie is why I will always say Dre is one of the best karate kid characters ever.
It's awesome that even as an adult Jayden always goes back to his younger self when he sees Jackie Chan.
bro jackie chan sucks balls even his own kids don't like him
What made this movie so good is they actually have a bunch of professional kids (including the villain kid), so the fight is great as hell
There is a deleted scene where Han and the other sensei fight after the tournament
shifu, sensei is japanese
Great scene.
Mr. Han: "Daniel LaRusso, apparently the same exact circumstances that happened to you here in America also happened to my first student in China."
Daniel: "Uh... you're Jackie Chan. My second student used to talk about you."
Jackie chan’s character is “Mr Han”

In a deleted scene of the movie, after losing to dre, cheng was almost punished by his teacher, jackie stops him and they fight, and jackie kicks his ass. So the last bow from the kids in red gives a lot more meaning to the scene, that a man that they attacked came to defend them.

The original is pretty good too
I don’t know about all that but this is a good entry though
A lot of die hard fans of the OG film give this one a hard time, but both my husband and I are Gen X and fans of the OG movie both thought they did a great job with the modern remake.
