@@purvisvandongen4258 Is that really what you think the point of the comment was? To impress us? The person was clearly just reacting incredulously and for good reason: Most people doing voice acting for a cartoon don't sound just like their wacky unrealistic characters. Marge's voice doesn't sound like any human's I've ever heard, and for a long time, I assumed that she was putting a whole lot of (sometimes painful) effort into doing that voice, much like Trey Parker does for Eric Cartman. It is shocking to hear this voice naturally coming out of a person if you aren't prepared for it, and when I have told people that the Marge voice isn't that different from Julie Kavner's speaking voice, they have always been surprised.
Julie Kavner's contract for The Simpsons says she isn't obligated to do publicity for the show. This is my first time hearing her not as Marge, Patty, or Selma. Interesting!
did you not see her on inside the actors studio. She talks in her normal voice there. Funnily enough even though she did marge's voice on that episode she refused to be filmed doing it. Even though her voice is so similar to marge anyway
Julie is a rare breed. Low maintenance, very low vanity , and very down to earth. It’s no wonder why the mass media always portrayed her poorly . She steers clear of the excess and really never directed herself towards “Hollywood “. She’s an example of an actor that just wants to act. I do hope she gets out of that Simpson’s contract though . She deserves some normalcy.
I think there's a lot more that went on/going on with her. I don't think she thinks she's good enough to be in the limelight like others. Overly self-conscious about her physicality or appearance I think. Not being in the limelight is her way of beating the game for her own good.
I’m a millennial and this just blew my actual mind - shes adorably charming and I see Marge in a whole new way. Like she’s actually the multi dimensional Marge. Imagine Julie Kavner playing a woman cop comedy movie? I’d kill to see that!!! Clearly, she’s a brilliant actor.
Her voice is unique. Is it from A throat problem? Nope. Cigarettes? Nuh-uh. It’s all from a bump on her vocal chords, which gives her this unique and amazingly awesome voice 🤩🤩🤩
She was so self-depreciating on Rhoda that it felt like the pain was hers' rather than just the characters'. Maybe something happened and she just doesn't feel comfortable anymore ?

@Darreyl Henderson She ruins the modern era for me and Yeardley Smith(Lisa) ruins the whole show. Tress MacNeille(Agnes, Dolph, etc.) is the only good thing about the modern era in my opinion. Otherwise I’d never watch it again.
@@michael-johnbrown2881 She clearly means her normal voice sounds a little like Marge, which is surprising. Which is a fair point, because Dan Castellnata's real voice sounds nothing like Homer.
I had no idea that Marge etc. is actually what she sounds like in real life anyway. Which means her voice will be so terrible in real life now like it is in the show that it would be almost unlistenable.
You can hear Marge's voice in her regular voice. Wow thats crazy
a real thinker, this one.

Shes been Marge Simpson for 34 years. That's her normal...and she can quit anytime she wants
She plays one of the biggest parts on tv and no one would even recognise her walking down the street. Sound like the job suits her.

She was very attractive.
Actually, this is from 94, not 93. Because "I'll Do Anything" was released in 1994.

I can tell she does Marge voice from the Simpsons it just there you can tell.
She was different from most women, so so attractive
I wonder if her voice is damaged after years of doing Marge, Patty and Selma
Lump on voice box gives her the raspy voice, it's natural..
Her voice doesn't seem to match how she looks.
She will always be Brenda Morgan Stern to me
I wonder what her natural voice sounds like today. Her ability to do Marge is completely gone.
